Every car in the Garage is hard earned. James is the greatest Front man that ever was in Metal history and I wont even argue that case because its true.
For James to be easily one of the most recognized people stepping foot into any country, accomplished in so many avenues and still retain his humble nature and down to earth attitude shows that he's right where he belongs.
What an inspiration you have been throughout my whole life, James Hetfield. You’ve endured the lowest of lows, with the passing away of your mother at an early age to the difficulties you struggled with as a teenager raised in a strict catholic family… I thank you for all the strength and love you have given me, a random fan whom you will probably never meet. Nevertheless, you have affected my life in an indescribable way and for that I will always be indebted to you. Thank you for everything.🤍

I sometimes struggle to accept that these guys got old. I find myself watching videos from the 80’s and 90’s over and over again because they were in their prime and in my mind they cannot look cool now as they did back in the day. Until I saw this video. Seeing James driving that convertible just reminded me why this guy is my main cat.
I think it's wierd like that for all of us. Everyone in the neighborhood playing their songs on instruments, waiting to be the first to get there new album or the new guitar magazine to get the new poster an hang it .It's sucks growing old but only the lucky ones make it. It's hard to see the bands I idolized as a kid now as older guys. I'm almost 50 myself.
Growing up as a 13 year old Dane living in Greenland, and loving Metallica back in the eighties, everyone around me was like Larz yeah.. He was cool and all but.. My idol in the iconic band was always James.. I'm now 47, and he's still a man I have the outmost respect and admiration for. This guy's life man.. whew what a rollercoaster ride.

An incredible musician, an incredible man! I just wish I could just jam with him, just once. It's on my bucket list!!!
His collection is honestly my favorite at the museum. Been a fan of Metallica since I was young and seeing this collection was absolutely mind blowing.
He's got taste too. Every car is custom in some way and all paints, proportions, everything looks good from every angle.
The garage decor is pretty impressive in itself.
@@TechSeller Yeah man I was just as impressed with the decor as I was the cars
“I’m a dad, husband, and singer”. When you got your priorities ON POINT! Respect bro.👊🏽
Absolutely.
So glad James sees the importance of putting these amazing cars on display.
Hey🌹, all love and how are you doing today actually?
This guy is living my dream.. and he has earned every piece of this through his talent and beautiful human nature
You must be american to believe this.. No offend but there are so much peoples with talent and vision which should get any chance to make their down thing..
The biggest problem is that no one will just put a dollar in it nowadays, cause we want all for nothing.. think about it or hate me, i don't mind ✌
Fireleaf he deserves every drop of success and more
@@Fireleaf Not stomping. But back in the days (80's) it was HARD work, getting a break in the music world.
Not a big fan of all their albums, but you can't say they don't deserve their status (and the perks that come with it).
@@spekenbonen72 truly in rock and metal, it's much harder nowadays to "get big" in music in my opinion.
@@jacobstephens2096 well, I personally think that this is due to the technology used in metal and rock to be outdated since the trend in today's music comprises mainly of synthesized sounds. If metal and rock wants to be reborn someone has to bring new technology and innovation and live up to the advancement of other genres.
I found it very interesting that he has an apiary. This man can do anything.
It’s cool to see someone like James into all the same stuff. I like seeing an appreciation for art whether music, tattoos, cars, neon signage, etc.
I'm a huge fan of Metallica. Looking at James in his comfort zone ( other than the studio and stage) is amazing. You can tell how passionate he is about his collection. 🤘🤘🤘
I was thinking that myself it was real cool to see that
I sometimes struggle to accept that these guys got old.
Not only a music legend, the dude is a gear head as well! This man can do no wrong!
COWARDLY MURDERER OF ANIMALS
Growing up as a 13 year old Dane living in Greenland, and loving Metallica back in the eighties, everyone around me was like Larz yeah..
He was cool and all but..
My idol in the iconic band was always James..
I'm now 47, and he's still a man I have the outmost respect and admiration for.
This guy's life man.. whew what a rollercoaster ride.
Only body can age, but the soul of James still young and badass
And then there's Ringo
And my god is he looking old!
Matt Cooley Ringo dyes his hair as i do, Paul does sometimes. This dude is only about 55, he would look 40 if he dyed it and grew it out a little. I mean he is in Metallica not a old hick country band lol
Ken Sturm Fr and if he brought the goatee back
I remember catching james on burbank blvd going to one on one studio to record the Black Album. he was driving a convertible vette in afternoon, awesome collection, better then lars art collection lol
That's a real love for cars. Any millionaire could buy new Bugatti, Ferrari, Lambos ecc... But James passion is genuine
I'm 16 and relate to James Hetfield I have a passion for older Chevrolet trucks and retro technology I own a Walkman with some Metallica Cassettes basically older Cassettes and VHS tapes tell stories about all the years of being untouched due to the younglings watching Netflix and streaming music
I mean there's nothing wrong with those cars they're all marvels of technology and innovation in the automotive industry but I feel like many celebrities buy them and don't Truely appreciate them where someone like James has a true appreciation for what he has I feel like no matter what cars you love I'd say your an enthusiast if you truly appreciate them and not just value it as a money symbol or point a to b
Who says you can't buy a lamborghini AND be passionate about it?
These are cars for kids who want to show off not car lovers.
@@Highrollinhunter my most precious possession in high school years was an original Master of Puppets cassette with the sleeves carrying all the lyrics and other info. It was a gold dust covered magnetic tape, it lasted ages without losing sound quality.
This car collector sure can play the heck out of a guitar.
Based on this guy's interview i think i might check out his band _Mettalica_ or whatever, i bet they have some decent country/western songs. It's a shame they never made it mainstream.
@@the_original_Bilb_Ono yeah quite unfortunate, if only they sold millions of albums and toured all over the world

Singer for a band called 'MettalicA' so humble, gotta love James! from 13 to now 52, He has been with me through most of my life.....in music! 🤟🤟🤟✊✊✊
I'd love to see James on Jay Leno's Garage.
Never knew James was a car guy. That would be a cool episode if it happens.
James is ReaL and Jay was Bought!....Just look at it
@musical roses A lot longer than that. Childhood.
@@SilverbackGorilla69 when you have the money, who wouldn't have cars?
@musical roses Cool. Sorry to sound corrective. More importantly, he's another car fanatic since childhood - like me.
Oh my god, it's so good to see James back and looking healthy. He's been one of my biggest heroes and inspirations, big love from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
This man has no idea how much of an influence he’s been on me since my teens. I can listen to him talk for hours.
Respect. He has taste. He can work on the machine. He is an actual musician. He doesn't buy a Lamborghini and paint it lime green and gold or a Bentley and jack it up on 25" rims and say he's a car guy.
To me, James Hetfield is the Clint Eastwood of music💯
Dude, this is spot tf on.
Yea, he is truly something.
🤔 I would say, the Rebecca Black of pop music, or the David Hasselhoff of rock music! The Joe Bidon of of politicians or the Kamala Harris of border security.
Summer sanitarium tour 2000 ravens stadium I was front row pressed against the rails. I could see the sweat flinging from this guy. The crowd was so into it the band played late, taking a huge pay cut because of the fine. Almost four hours of pure rock. THANK YOU.
That burgundy car he's driving is absolutely gorgeous.
Any idea what car that is?? It looks incredible

Those vintage signs in the garage are goddamn gorgeous...
I never imagined a rock music pioneer could ever get me interested in American cars, Mr Hetfield has. What a delight to listen to him talking about the passions in his life.
G'damn that Auburn is absolutely beautiful.... Spectacular!!!
I had the honor of seeing the dark brown car at the SEMA show a few years back...a piece of rollin art for sure. I also had the honor of seeing Metallica in concert many many many times starting in 1989 on the Justice tour. James has always been an inspiration to me as a guitar player, an artist & designer. It has always been a dream of mine to one day meet James in person. Thank You James for sharing your awesome car collection, being an inspiration to many & making killer music!!!
Kevin Morgan my exact thoughts also.
Hetfield is so insanely cool, he looks like he could be in gta v with all these cars

I love how James always introduces himself eventhough everybody knows who he is. That´s a humble man. A true legend and inspiration for the rest of us :)
Well, when I saw the thumbnail I did not recognize him. Age has not been kind.
Lol 🤣
@Fire and Ice Thanks for your unwarranted opinion.
@Fire and Ice so how's your band doing?
James Hatfield has always been the man since all the way back to the 80s and I have always loved him! As time goes on he gets more awsome all time, this car collection is a example!! This collection is one of the most beautiful I've seen, it's absolutely unbelievable, literally one of the best!!!
I’m pretty sure I saw James Hetfield’s roadster about 10 years ago at the Goodwood Festival of Speed here in the UK - awesome car, awesome musician, awesome band!
I’m a simple man. I see Hetfield in a video, I click like.
James Hetfield has such a cool story, I’m glad that he’s in a good place and that he’s getting a resurgence!
At a Warriors playoff game a few years ago, some dude in the crowd going crazy.... with a Warrior's Jersey on and on the back it reads..."Hetfield" The guy turns around and it's James.... in the stands, Rockin his team. Just like a fan of his would do. So Cool!
About 6 years ago, I saw him and his wife at a Sharks game going crazy as well
Can't wait to go see these cars in person
James your cars are beautiful, they are awesome in every way

Interesting insight into his history and his cars.
"James Hetfield. Dad, husband. I am a singer and guitar player for band called Metallica." This new guys might be good, let's check them out.
Don't know why, but I think they have a future
Nicola Larusso they are a pop band right
I'm here for the cars! And wow, what ultra fine cars these are. Every single one of them is a show stopper.
Sharing emotions, knowlogies, memories, music ,art in general without jealousy made this man such a big artist
It was an honor to do the body & paint on James's '56 F100 'Str8 Edge.' One of my favorite builds to be part of by far.
I love that he kept much of the classic lines and wheels as they were originally.
James Hetfield's personal connection to his cars is truly inspiring. I am glad to know that his cars are on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum. I definitely need to take my friends there to visit, they will absolutely enjoy the experience! Thank you so much for sharing!
thats lisn
Nice, would like to see more on his cars.
Every comment in this thread is somehow has some epicness to it. But good to know that mr.Hetfield is a car enthusiast and collectioner and fan of hot rod firy cars. Engine sounds so cool!!! Exterior and interior are awesome too.
Has James met Jay?! Probably right? I mean here’s a guy who has produced top albums for almost 40 friggin years, played in every major city in the world, and is still in the band and still picks up rusty guitars and cars. This is the real kind of guy that inspires and actually makes America great, even as he struggles with recovery. I’ve been there too. We need James to hang around for a while!
St Anger wasnt 1 of those albums
They don't make cars...or Rock bands like they used to... good times.
I mean there is Ghost... even James Hetfield adores them so that's a rock band at least
@@mrheadlessa I had a laundry list of rock bands in my head and I was about to retort with all of them until I realized they're 20+ years old now... How time flies.

BS??? I don't see "bands" today filling a football stadium with 85k fans. As far as cars, I would take a 60's muscle car on any Sunday over anything made today. There is no comparison to the purity and rawness of the direct connection between you and the car you'll never experience with a modern car. Give a try.

Fun fact in the late90’s…..I worked at Kragen Auto Parts in the city of Novato(northern California) and James Hetfield walked in…my coworkers told me about him…so I walked up to him and asked him if he was him…he seems to appreciate our Conversation about cars and hot rods…we ended outside checking out his car…that day he was just a car guy…
I like James and his voice is great for narration. I didn't know he was so passionate about cars! That garage is something, man.
amazing speaking voice, so resonant. he could do Carlsberg ads.
Puts Leno to shame.
I've been a huge Metallica fan since 1986, I even went out and bought a Gibson Explorer. I self taught how to play, and had to pawn it. My love of cars has never wavered though.
