This Part 2 video shows you how to finish your pinch pleat curtains. Pinch pleat curtains are very elegant and as such deserve to be fitted to a quality curtain pole. Pinch pleat curtains can be used for curtain poles and curtain tracks for both standard or bay windows. This style of curtain has a series of evenly spaced pleats that are permanently sewn together and arranged in groups of 2 or 3 pleats with a flat section in between. To look their best, pinch pleat curtains often require more fabric in their widths than standard curtain types such as pencil pleat curtains and certainly take more time to make. The extra time and money is well worth it as these curtains will make a very attractive as well as very tailored finish for your windows.
The width of pinch pleat curtains when they have been made is fixed so it is important that you have an accurate finished width measurement.

HOW TO FINISH YOUR PINCH PLEAT CURTAINS
1. Follow our Part 1 video on how to make pinch pleat curtains to get you to this stage of being ready to sew the pinch pleats.
2. Take one of the sewn sections and hold tightly together to find the centre point.
3. Holding this fold firmly, push down so that another pleat forms either side of this centre pleat.
4. Arrange the pleats evenly and then find the bottom of the buckram and then either sew stab stitches or bar stitches to hold the pleats together. The difference between stab stitches and bar stitches is that a stab stitch cannot be seem from the front of the curtains whereas a bar stitch is literally a bar that is sewn across the front of the curtains pleats to hold them firmly in place and can be seen from the front.
5. Finish off the top of the pinch pleat by sewing across the top of the pinches either side of the centre pinch to keep the pinches also in place at the top.
HOW TO FINISH WITH A GOBLET HEADING - This type of curtain heading can also be finished as a goblet heading.
1. After you have sewn the bottom of the pleats together, take some wadding and make it into a roll.
2. Fill the curtain fold with the wadding so it forms the goblet heading.
3. A nice finish for a goblet heading is to fill the goblet with a little more wadding than normal so the wading is clearly visible and then finish with a contrasting piece of material.
