I actually thought Richard had a bit of a boy crush on Mel B and was showing off to her in this episode 😝
Everyone is so delightful in this one and manages to play off of Mel B in completely different, but equally-fun ways.
I've seen Mel B on Drag Race since watching this and she's a completely different person. She's been through so much and as someone who's been depressed and in abusive relationships it's really hard to feel light and make jokes when you're going through stuff like that. She mentions X Factor here too, which also means she was also struggling with cocaine addiction on top of everything else. It's remarkable she's on the show at all.

She was depressed during this filming and a week or so away from attempting suicide. Her ex husband was abusing her and she found out her dad was terminally ill. She was abusing drugs and drink to cope, not just on here but on x factor too

People saying Mel was in on the joke: if she did it intentionally then it would be funny and it wasn’t.
She was an embarrassing mess and the comedians held her up to the best of their ability.

It's important to realise that Mel B wasn't herself during this, she was severely depressed and suicidal. This was filmed a week or so before her 2014 suicidal attempt. She was being abused by her ex husband in every way, she had just found out her dad was terminally ill and she relying on drink and drugs to cope. She tried to cancel this but it was too late, so she ended up having to do it. I really don't think this should be allowed to be uploaded anywhere online. I doubt she wants to see any reminders of the dark place she was at back then
I'm not sure if you will ever get people to stop uploading it just because of the nature of the internet. But I agree that we can watch it with more compassion now that we understand what she was going through.
She should be proud of how well she did here, I thought she was quite funny.

Although thats clearly awful, I think its a bit over the top to suggest it shouldnt be uploaded anymore. People go through dark periods, ans it does a lot to explain her disposition here, but she could just choose not to watch it.

Mel B was so humourless in this episode you'd think she was forced onto the set at gunpoint.
She was, she wanted to cancel but it was too late. She was depressed and suicidal when this was filmed. A week or so later she tried to take her own life, she was being abused by her husband in real life and had just found out her dad was terminally ill

I thought the same thing, apparently she was really heavy into drug use at the time due to a death in the family or something. Love the spice girls, but Mel here was not the best site. Either way I hope she's better now.

@davidmurrell5143 you do know big productions like this usually have contracts that, if broken, could face legal action as well as huge fines. LEGALLY she had to attend
