2017 Ranger Z519 with 225 Merc Pro XS (2 stroke) Bob's (10 " set back and 6" lift) 24p Fury 3 blade. Top is 74 mph (no water or fish in the well and no Co) and tournament day probably upper 60s running 5800 RPM's . Great hole shot and one seriously good looking middle aged, slightly balding hammer behind the wheel!!
👍👍
Just came back from northern minnesota and you said it best, boulders everywhere
Best prop video
Let's keep the comments rolling in! What are you guys running?
Currently running fury 23 on ranger z521l with mercury pro xs 300. 72mph 6150rpm. Do you recommend a scorpion for a second prop? Saw where you and Avena said it woke up his Suzuki. Just looking for a second prop. Thanks
Nice really like these videos.
2014 Alumacraft Competitor tiller, 90 Yamaha mounted all the way up. Factory 17 pitch and Michigan Wheel Ballistic 17 pitch, same speed. 36 mph 1/2 tank of gas (17 gal) and full fishing load, one person, 34 mph 2 people.
2003 Pro Craft 210SC, 2003 3.0 Mercury 225 EFI, turning a worked 26 tempest plus, 5850 RPM 73MPH loaded.
Countless amount of time went into getting the perfect prop setup on this boat.
04 Ranger 521, Evinride 250. Currently running a Powertech RKR 25" pitch. I have the boat propped for all around but focusing more on holeshot and midrange. Top speed is 69mph @ 5800 but the boat has excellent holeshot and mirage punch. An old school 26 Raker works ok. I get better topend , 71mph with a light load but holeshot is ok with a dead midrange bite.
You're right on!
2007 Bass Cat Pantera Classic (the 19'1" hull). Merc 200 Opti, 26in Trophy plus, manual jack. Full tournament load including bro-in-law - 68-69mph. 72 if leave bro-in-law on dock.
2023 Zodiac Cadet 270 ALU RIB, 1995 Mercury 9.9 2 Stroke Turning I believe a 9 or 10 pitch factory Aluminum, 6000 RPM and 28 MPH out of a 9.9, planning to upgrade to a 12p stainless steel prop.
1988 17 ft bullet bass boat.
225 xri mercury. Bobs nose cone, cdi electronics, 7 peddle reed front half, ports tweaked but nothing major.150 psi compression. 8 inch jack plate,1.87 to 1 lower unit. Turning a mercury pro max 28 pitch 7200 rpm best to date 96mph...runs 88 to 92 with gear and my buddy.
Have a pathfinder 2300HPS bay not we run for our redfish tournaments here in Florida. Yamaha F300 (I think they’re called “F300”). We have a 23 pitch Mercury tempest on it and getting between 60-62.7 depending how we load it. Love your vids. Just recently subd 👍🏼
2021 Skeeter FXR 21. Tournament load 68.6. Full tanks / gas and well.
Stock T2 25P
1989 stratos 201 pro elite with a 2.4 Bridgeport starting out with a 25p laser2 that came with the motor. First trial run only ran 45 at 5850 still have a lot of quirks I’m tryin to work out. Definitely was down on power but will keep you posted on how it does
I'm running a 170v glasstream with a 90 mercury with a 17p stainless getting 40 to 42 depending on load I fish the river alot so I'm looking for the hole shoot and I have to say it's awesome
2015 Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90hp Yamaha SHO. I'm running 42mph at 5900 rpms. I have a stainless Solas Titan 17 pitch prop. 42mph is pretty damn fast for a 16ft deep V boat.
Straight hauling! Awesome!!
2005 Triton TR-21X with 2018 Suzuki 250SS on a 10" set back jack plate.... 6000 RPM 74 MPH... half tank fuel, 2 10ft blades, 4 AGM Batteries, full tourney load. Prop is a Mark Croxton Razor 4 blade 26 pitch. Haven't measured prop to pad distance as I adjust my jackplate with the feel of the boat as water conditions vary.
Is that a custom prop that you purchased from Mark or did you send yours to him? We like 74 mph @ 6k!
@@TeamMarineService It is a custom prop that he built.
What diameter is your prop?
2015 ZV18. 200L4 verado. 18P inertia. Can get 45 but Only get 5950RPM. Just bought a tempest 3 blade in 19P and going to give it a try.
2022 CX21, 250 Merc pro xs...6200 @ 71....w 23 fury, Tryin 25 out now dropping bills and not too thrilled with top end... its squirrelly as hell
2019 Ranger Z519, 225 Pro XS Four Stroke, 10" Atlas Jackplate, with a Fury 23P. Full tank of gas, twin Power Poles, full of fishing gear and myself(240 lb dude),,,,, 68 MPH with jackplate set mid way and motor trimmed just above midway.
EASE TO WORK ON SUZUKI OR YAMAHA OR MERC OR HONDA ????
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL IM 55 AND DISABLED IM GETTIN A 14-36 JOHN BOAT WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD ENGINE FOR IT ??
Suzuki!!!
I have an evinrude 28 spl with an over prop exhaust system on a 16 ft 88 lowe angler pro no idea what prop would be best for it it didn't have one on it when I got it
You ain't lying.....I've spent a small fortune playing with props. I've had the fastest boats in my area but its cost me a lot. Having friends with fast boats so you can try their props helps too.
If your dealing with chine walk your set up isn't right. An efficient setup and the right prop won't chine walk much if any.
You want to go fast? Run more pitch than the next guy and put in the time testing your rig. While everyone else was running 25p props on theirs and seeing low 70s I was running a 28p on a 294 Stratos with stock 200 opti. And seeing nearly 80, in a cookie cutter Stratos boat.
Another tidbit.....you'll never see your best speed with a nicked up rock rashed prop. It's got to be perfect with razor clean biting edges.
2019 triton 18tx with a 115 pro xs 47 mph at 6500 rpm with a 23p fury
I have The 150 PROXS 4 stroke with 24P Tempest+ on a Tracker 195, I can hit the rev limiter with tackle and myself. Bought a 25P Scorpion that I learned from you is actually a 26, so no bueno as it only turns 5400. Selling the scorpion, so a 25P Tempset+??? thats my thought. Hit about 56 solo, 54 with a partner.
I have a 2020 Stingray 182sc with DF90A Suzuki with factory OEM 3 blade prop. What stainless prop should I get and size/pitch? Plz help. Thks.
I have a 94 champion 173(i think due to the length correct me if I’m wrong) but it’s paired with a blackmax xr6 150 with a 23p tempest and I top out at 58 cruise at 53. Should I be going faster? Real curious about this cause I have been getting mixed answers from everyone. Prop could use a hone and balance possibly. But I JUST got the chime walk happening barely. Let me know what you think!
2014 Phoenix 921 pro xp 76.2 mph. It has a 12 inch atlas hydraulic Jack plate. Running a 25 pitch fury balanced and blueprint by Mark croxton. Two 8 ft power poles 3/4 tank of fuel. Mercury 250 pro xs
Rocking and rollin!
I have a 186 StarCraft super fisherman with a F200xb on it, i have prop chatter at the low rpm with a tempest plus 21P, after a lot of digging and talking to a lot of techs that are clueless i found a good explaination. Question is can i get that prop to work or is it a done deal.
I have a 89 stratos 201 pro. 200xp with 6 inch manual jackplate 4 blade renegade 23p pad to prop is 4.5 i get 52mph with full load. At 5200 rpm. At 3.5 pad to prop i get 5500 rpm but 46-48mph and plowing alot of water
I have a 2007 Suzuki DF50 and the WOT range is from 5900-6500. What ideal rpm should the motor be at to reach optimal speed and performance?
07 triton tr21x with a 250 mercury pro xs it has a 25p tempest on it and I get 72.
1987 Ranger 354V with a '95 mercury XRI 150. Running a 25p Highfive. Jumps out of the whole and runs 60 by myself with gear and 54 with my partner and his gear.
I have a 2018 Basscat Cougar, 250 Pro XS, prop is a Fury 3 26p. I got 76mph @5900 rpm when I backed off, I believe it could have gotten more, I’m not into speed. My hole shot is bad in cool weather and terrible in hot weather. Thinking of dropping to a Fury 4, 25p or even to a 24p, as I would rather have a much better holeshot when tournament loaded, full livewell, full fuel.
Hey man I watch your UA-cam channel all the time. I have a question for you. I am running a 2008 Ranger Z520c 40 anniversary addition with a 2008 mercury 250proSX I am running a fury 25 pitch 3blade my top rpm is usually around 5400 64 to 66mph. Do you think it a prop issue or hot foot/ engine maximize set up problem. The fastest I have ever had the boat is 71 for a brief moment that was with a tempest 26 that I have sent it off to be repaired thanks to submerged log in Santee, but my highest rpm was still around 5500rpms. What prop would you recommend on this to maximize speed. We always run a tournament load due my son fishing bass masters high school trail and we fish a local club together. Just curious of you opinion. Keep up the great work we really like your show and sometimes brutally honest opinions.
What’s your opinion on a power tech vmx3
2021 Alumacraft competitor 205, 250pro xs, 23p 14.5” vented turning point….58.5mph @ 5100. 17p revolution 4, 51mph @6200+
1998 nitro 185 ski and fish with 98 150 mercury optimax I have a 21 pitch ss prop trim down full thoddle is 50mps at 5000rpms trim little up I get about 57 mph at 5300 this is all I fell safe at I sould be at 5600rpms.... my boat pulls hard to the right when under power like hard
Getting ready to re-power my 1999 Boston Whaler DC with a Suzuki 250ss. Dealer is supplying a prop with the sale(assuming Suzuki prop). what prop do you recommend ?
2006 mercury 115 optimax 5800 rpm doing 52. But my wholeshot it rough. Takes alot to get on plane mercury laser 2 21p
2001 stratos 22ss extreme. 2013 250 proxs. Getting 71. Terrible hole shot or non existant when livewells full. 25p tempest ii. Had the same prop on a proxb. Boat ran great. 76-78. Slow but strong holeshot. I'm at my end on this thing
2021 GatorTrax Strike 22 1/2' with 225 SHO (flashed to 336), dual 10" atlas jack plates stacked, dual TM battery mounting locations for changing weight and balance.
Soon to get a ballast tank up in the nose for easier changing of weight and balance. The boat rides fantastic and can quickly go from best MPH & MPG to best handling for turn & burn or really bad conditions. Not the setup for everyone, but I like to be able to adjust to my needs on the fly and this setup allows me to do just that.
25p Tempest Plus worked by Ronnie Gilbert, 77MPH @6000: best prop for speed and nose lift but walks a bit when over 74
25p PowerTech BRV worked by Ronnie Gilbert, 68-72 @5800: absolute best holeshot period, doesn't like to get over 5850 but when she clicks 59750-6000 will JUMP from 72 to 75-76 no walk
26p Fury4, stock, 65 - 70 @5800: Great prop but my boat is a little heavy to run it. When very light on fuel and load this prop will touch 75-77 and feels great but it needs to be worked
27p Bravo1, 74MPH @5950: Great prop, wasn't mine to keep
23p PowerTech RKR4, 67 - 69: Great prop, not mine to keep, didn't play with it too much and didn't find it had enough lift. Holeshot was breakneck.
25p Trophy Plus worked by Bo: 70-72: One of the best props I ever had for many motors. Bites great and always delivers. Have to be gentle on the throttle coming out of the hole
Looking to get my hands on a Yamaha T1 in 26 or a SOLAS Scorpion 26, and a VMX4 in 25. That should be JUST about perfect.
2011 Ranger 518 Comanche 200 Mercury Pro XS, 23 stainless pitch prop. Bob’s machine jackplate 6” set back. My WOT is 5800, I only get 5200 WOT 46 mph. What’s wrong? I can’t figure it out.
89 Stratos 275 Pro 6 inch manual jack plate with a 89 150 Evinrude XP 24 Pitch OMC Raker turning 5600 RPM 66 MPH empty tournament load and me does 62 MPH and tournament load with a co-angler doing 57 MPH
We have the exact same motor and boat but I have to get that prop!!
Gambler 209 underpowered with a 150efi. Running a trophy 24p 4 blade only getting 5100rpms. Not sure what direction to go, some people say to run a 3 blade? Helppp!!!!
1998 champion 187 68mph 24 tempest just me loaded down .... if i have 2 men loaded down with livewells fish and all 64-62 at lowest... im not going fast but good enough for what i paid lol holeshot is great as well.
Found this channel last week, big fan. I’ve got a 2012 nitro z8 with at 225 proxs. I know your thoughts on nitros haha. Came into a great buy a year ago and she’s been good to me. It has two 10ft talons, average amount of tackle. 25 gallons of gas, I’m usually running around solo but I’m sized for two at around 270. Tops at out 57 mph at 5600 rpm, running a tempest plus 26. I feel like she has more to give, feel like a prop change could help. Suggestions?
Verify the speed and tacho, getting a huge amount of prop slip for a 26 if the numbers are correct
@@jackross2524Thanks for the response. As far as speed now I’ve been able to get it up to 62, I’ll have to double check the rpm on my next trip. It did have two cranking batteries. I bought it used, had two cranking batteries, just overhauled the battery setup and went to one batteries plus x2 agm 31 battery. See how it runs with a little less weight on the backend.
Javelin 170 with 90 Yamaha with a 13 1/4 x 17. I'm getting 42 max. Thoughts? How can I also dial in my tachometer? Heard you can do it with a multimeter.
2012 Basscat Cougar FTD, 2012 250 ProXS, 26P Fury worked by Ronnie Gilbert. Running 77 at 5800 in 85 degrees temps. Tournament loaded and 25 gal of fuel.
Awesome!
2020 Ranger RT198P 150 Pro Xs Foury Stroke
On a flat/no wind/no current... I get 45 mph at 5500 rpm running a 24 pitch tempest
We think you could get a few more RPM's outta that engine! 👍
I’ve got a 2018 rt198p 6” atlas jack plate and merc 150 four stroke run a 23 tempest and get 56 2 guys fully loaded 60 by myself. Try a jack plate and a 23 more rpm more set back & cleaner bite = more speed
HI Guys, I started watching your video's about a week or two ago and love them. I'm actually purchasing a 250 SS because of you (you should ask Suzuki for commission) I would have bought it from you guys but i'm from Canada. Anyway i know you mentioned a 25 pitch to start with a 250, seeing hows money's short and you work a lot with Suzuki, what pitch have your past client seen most success with? it's going on a 2003 triton tr21. 3 blade or 4 blade?
Any Jack plate or setback?
@@TeamMarineService manual jackplate
Setback?
@@TeamMarineService yessir it has a setback
its a pro-hi jacker hp
2007 Stratos 294xl, 200hp Yamaha hpdi, 26p stainless Merc Tempest. It runs around 62.5mph at 5,200-5,400rpms before it starts to walk.
2016 legend v20 - 250 pro xs optimax 64mph @ 5800rpm with a fury 4 24 pitch. Thinking about going to a fury 3 - 25 or 27 pitch what you think?
I'm only getting 27mph from my 70hp Evinrude on a 17ft. aluminum deep V hull Lowe 1730 that's with 2 people and full tank of 25 gallons some fishing gear and ice chest. The boat and motor came new in 1991. I live in s.w. Oklahoma and I want the new E tec 115 installed on it. And I dont want to drive across country to have it done but I havent found a dealer yet that will do it what do I got to do to get this done?
Are you stuck with wanting an Evinrude specifically? Our opinion would be to re-power with a Suzuki or Yamaha.
I got a basscat pantera I'm running a 150 Johnson turning a 24 pitch raker getting 55 to 56
LUND 2075 Pro V Bass w a new Merc 4 stroke 250 Pro XS. Tempest Plus 21 pitch, getting 60 at 5800. Would love to get more, I feel there's another 3 to 4 mph there. Maybe a 23pitch??
Have ya taken it to your dealer and asked them their recommendation? We feel like they will tell ya to try a 19 pitch to get you closer to that 6k rpms, but that isn't the deal. Take it there and have them plug it in to make sure it's going full throttle.
@@TeamMarineService yes, and they actually recommended trying a 23. I do run my rig with a heavy tournament load, but I think there's a little more in her. Lund claims 61mph is top end on that rig, but I'm not so sure about that. Verified getting full throttle by dealer. Im hitting 60 at 5800rpm, so maybe it is maxed out, maybe im just getting greedy?? Anyways, just found your channel and you guys are on point. Keep the good stuff coming boys🤙🤝💪🤙
I run the same boat with a 10” atlas jackplate, 24 fury, have seen 66.7 alone but two guys tourny load 63-63.5 at 5900rpm
1988 charger 195 foxfire with a 2015 200 pro xs 25p scorpion 70-73mph
What prop would you put on Suzuki 250 SS
What prop would you recommend for my new 23 Excel Pro Cat with a Suzuki 250SS?
06 Skeeter 20i - 250 HPDI w/T1-25 prop (vented) tournament loaded and when running right and strong, 69.8 to 71 all day long (faster when motor was new) at 5500 rpms... until the new 250SS Zuki is bolted on... then prop game begins.. : (
Stay tuned to our channel for when we unveil the specs of the prop for the 250 ss! 👍🏻
2003 Triton tr21 with 2015 Mercury Pro XS 26p 3 blade fury 76 believe it could do a little more tho. Rough to drive going that fast lol
I get 68-69 5700ish rpm 23 fury bass cat Sabre 175 pro xs 4 stroke full load and fuel. What say you?
Checkmate Pulsare BR with a Mercury 300R SM 1.75:1 - Mercury ProMax 27” 88MPH @ 6390RPM on GPS. I have a Hydraulic Jackplate with 12" of setback.
2004 X60 express bass boat with hyperlift hull running a 1986 Mercury XR2 BLACK MAX 150hp with a Laser II 22 pitch getting 60 but I’m turning 6200 rpm
I have a ranger reata 2050 with 200 yamaha 4 stroke and it needs a prop I'm wondering what diameter prop you guy's use any info would be greatly appreciated
Question: Have a 1998 884 Savage Nitro, Looking to get a Zuke Df 150 A in a few weeks. I would like to know what size prop I should be looking to have... Not a whole lot of info out on a Nitro/Suzuki combo. Thanks🙃
Good luck.. she’s either gonna run mid 60s with a 23p and never get on plain, or 4 blade and run about 47 mph with way to high rpm’s and jump on plain
Ranger z20 with 225 verado. Currently has 26 bravo as on it. I might hit 60 wot but can’t get rpm over 5500. Any suggestions?

2012 294 Stratos EVO. 2012 merc proxs. I ran a 25 tempest for years and had it worked too. I hit 70 to 71 in winter @ 5750. Then bought a stock 25 fury 4 and love it, except my Rpms are 2 to 300 less WOT, especially in summer / humidity I have a 6" manual plate and around 3 below pad. I gained top more consistently summer and winter with this set up, but I know a 24 would be the best run. When I bought boat in 2015 it had 126 hrs, I I'm about to reach a milestone of 1000 hrs on her. Never been rebuilt. Yes I idle alot, so thats more than half of the hours. I'm a dump truck load, since the 294 don't have a lot of storage. Last weekend in a club tourney on chickamauga, I hit 67.9 @ 5450 with 2 guys @ 180 lbs, 3/4 fuel, and three 31 batteries. Loaded with crap. Wanted to pass that along. BTW, my holeshot is great and midrange, wished I had a 24 fury 4 for summmer.
Your leaving a lot on the table. I set mine up to run 75 loaded like a dump truck and run 78 solo.......turbo txp 27p or a worked 28p merc bravo1 is the ticket. A tempest is great for holeshot but doesn't run top end, to much slip. And a fury isn't for your rig, they like to run deep.
Old boat 1982 ranger 350v w '91 XR4 8" setback 3" p2p 26p laser 2 64 @ 5800rpm.

2000 Nitro 901cdx 19'1". 200 merc efi. 23 tempest plus winter 66mph. Loaded, full wells, co angler 62-63. Still a good holeshot. 25p tempest 68 but gets squirrelly.

need to call talk with u just got new triton tr20 with merc 250 4 pro xs came with 24 tempest rpm were only around 5800 run 69-71 done a lot of buisness with mark croxton on props so i sent it to him rpms now around 5900 run 69-70 so i bought new 25 fury that i like but rpms only turn 5600-5700 and run 70-72 all of these numbers are with hydraulic jackplate 2 people boat tourney loaded full to 3/4 tank of gas. so i called croxton and he says that the 25 fury cant be tuned or he cant tune it any suggestions . on the back side of this my old 2003 triton tr21 with mercury 225 efi would do 71*74 with 26 tempest tuned by croxton

You're getting close to hitting the rev limiter...Try a bigger prop to lower your RPM's and possibly get a little more speed out of it!
@@TeamMarineService did some tune up this winter, waiting to for some open water to test the hole shot. Found a couple vacuum leaks in the fuel lines

2018 Z519 pro XS 225 Atlas JP. Fury 23P 3 blade 5850 69 mph two guys tournament loaded
Champion 176 SC, Mercury 150 XR6 on 6” setback manual jack plate. My Texas Summer go fast prop is a stock Tempest plus 24” - 65mph by myself tournament loaded. Winter go fast prop is worked Tempest 25” - 68mph. The Merc turns at somewhere around 5700 RPMs with each of these props in their respective season. Prop shaft is 2 3/4” below the pad. The little champ lightly loaded could probably do a smidge over 70mph with someone with bigger balls than me driving it, she walks like a bitch when over 65mph!
How do I get a job at team marine? @teammarineservice
My 2001 Triton (your fav LOL) TR19 with the 2001 Merc 200 EFI 8' manual jp....I have never had it set up right .... yet. No $$ to chase. I have a 25p tempest plus turned down to 24p with a little extra cup. I am about to just go with my trophy plus 25p and be done with it. Hole shot 2 ppl, water in livewells.....sucks. Is what it is. About 70 solo on a great day pushing 6k rpms and 18 psi. Anyone looking an older 23p Laser II for a Merc....got one cheap. LOL.
procraft 210 SP with 225 opti... 72-76mph depends on season and water condition 25p tempest
