I can't believe they totally gave up on Evinrude for this pile of absolute Ghost junk. Why would anyone in their right mind even think of putting a motor powerhead underwater? This has to be the worst idea in the entire history of marine propulsion or maybe in the entire history of the internal combustion engine. BRP, if you're watching, go back to work on the Evinrude outboard and bring us something that really works well. I don't care if it's an improved 2-stroke outboard or an all new 4-stroke motor - anything will be better than this foolish thing. If you won't do that, at least provide those of us still running Evinrude outboards with a reliable stream of replacement parts.
I am so glad i still got my 87 Evinrude made by OMC, still the best motor i ever owned, clean carbs every year, fresh good fuel and no issues. That ghost submarine.. well they can stick that where the sun never shines and see if the seals hold up.

And the rest is history
I’ve got a friend that owns a dealership that sells Manitou. The company got one to him just in time for the boat show in January. It looked like a really cool idea at first because of the huge swim platform. He sold one, and won’t order another. He’s said that Manitou is trying to go to all of this futuristic looking stuff that he don’t think will sell here in Alabama. He picked up Trifecta to sell because of it.

And the air intake is molded into the boat. With that being said these motors are not designed or manufactured to be a repower option. Its designed for a specific boats and thats it.
I actually saw one of these for sale at Millers Marine, Ocala FL. It was brand new, didn't see a price , was a 150 also. Not impressed but the cowl had enough bolts to stock a hardware store

BRP is GREAT! An underboard that under normal operation/design is to be submerged needs service ASAP. So... after you launch that brand new underboard into the water, the next step before starting and enjoying your day on the water, load boat back on trailer immediately and bring to dealer; rinse and repeat😆
Of all my years as an outboard technician I would have never thought to put the motor under the water. Saltwater would kill this engine for sure! And 5-year 500-hour service interval? Please do a video on how to service one of these "underwater nightmares".
