We keep Christmas fairly minimal with our daughter. She gets one or two gifts in each category: want, need, do, learn, and read. Then, Santa brings a gift too obviously. I love seeing how different families approach Christmas and gift giving!
We always have the kids” big” presents come from us or relatives. Santa fills the stockings! It’s actually still very magical and I love that it seems to instill more gratitude in the kids to know the people in their life carefully chose and bought most of their gifts. 💕💕
When I see Xmas hauls on what ppl got their kids for Christmas I get soooo excited because it gives me multiple ideas depending on what age they do but then I see “budget friendly” and my excitement is gone bc I always assume there won’t be very many gifts which means I don’t have many ideas on what to get my kids but this video was actually really good !!💜
I want to go all out for Christmas this year, I'm having another baby in january and we are still isolating. I need things to keep these kids busy through the winter for my sanity. These were some great ideas, perler beads were my favorite I forgot about them!
I am at the same place as you when it comes to Christmas. I stuck to around a $100 budget too and tried to buy meaningful gifts instead of junk. I also graduated from grad school last year.
I did good I spent $100 each and thats it. I was going to get them bikes and realized they wont ride them until spring so I will get those in spring. I am so done with the gifts that they open and play with once.
Hello , I would love to know where you got the led drawing pad , I have 11 year old triplets and I think they would love one of those! Please lmk a link
I used to go overboard also. But starting a couple years ago I started doing the 4 categories something they need. Something they want. Something they wear and something they read. Then Santa brings one present and the stocking. Sometimes it’s a couple things in each category sometimes it’s just one. Just depends on the item.
Great for kids Christmas and understanding how you feel bout your budget and Christmas for kids but most important kids need new clothes for school, read books, activity need outside like ride bike or basketball goal or etc and what kids want their favorite hobby or favorite character or game then u can buy them Christmas list more easy way kids will enjoy their gifts Christmas also you can create have breakfast this morning then kids can open Christmas gift want kids feel more enjoy on day Thanks share video and enjoy it
We have two special needs kids so Christmas is always interesting! Our oldest is 6 and this is the first year I didn’t get mostly books for him! He’s really into Nerf guns so we got a couple for him and some games! And then our youngest is 3.5! She’s developmentally delayed and non verbal so I never know what to get her bc she doesn’t need anything! So she ended up with some Disney Princess plush dolls, learning resources colored food sorting kit and some fine motor toys! We kept our budget around $100/kid! I grew up in a home where Christmas was more practical so it’s nice to see a mom that’s the same! We are still working on, with our son, that Christmas isn’t about the presents! Grandparents don’t help in that department!! Lol!
Just came across your video for the first time as soon as you mention church and that you got seatings to like every other week I knew you an LDS and the dress with regarding to your daughter God bless u
Hi. I just wanted to say I’m autistic to and I have those beads they get all over the place and are difficult to pick up. I’m also new here. Merry Christmas
I did $100 each for both boys and Im happy everything is interactive and can be played all year round. I basically did the same as you and thats how it will be from now on. Where did you get the large pegboard?
I just discovered your channel tonight. Love the simplicity of the gifts, practical yet meaningful! I love Usborne books! Have you heard of Nibbles the book monster? Great read!
@@jmorgan1121 I used to do a lot of Perler Beads you could also get really cool templates offline and put them underneath so he can follow along just look up Perler Bead template Pokemon they just take them to the base of the big one and let him follow along and then you could change. As you need you could also laminate or put them in protector pages to make them last longer
Is your 3 year old daughter birthday the 25th of February if not what day in February is her birthday? Btw I'm just wondering because mine is the 25th of February
I love your philosophy on gift giving. So sensible. Our kids get one good present and a special book under the tree, and a book, a Christmas decoration, something yummy and 2 smaller gifts in their stockings. It is enough if you put thought into the selection.
I found the stickers on Amazon. Here is the blog post listed in the description: www.jackiepalsson.com/?p=3035 (all the links to items can be found there)
I asked my brother where they get patterns for the big Pokemon images and he said that they find them on Pinterest or google the Pokemon you are looking for.
Yes finally a UA-camr who actually shows realistic gifts. :) love what you got your children. I have an 8 yr old boy, 6 year old boy and a 4 year old daughter. Great ideas thanks!
Sorry:/ it sucks at first but your around the age most kids find out. You will get used to it and Christmas can be focused more on spending time with your family
Would have been nice for you to do a disclaimer saying you were talking about Santa as I’m watching your video with my 3 kids in the room that can hear you
It says in the description, Santa Spoilers. My family as my siblings and I got older, asked, found out, etc talked about how Santa isn't a single person but is the many people that keep the magic, spirit and love of the holidays around. They told us that believing in Santa is the giving us the ability to believe in what we cannot see, something we will need later in life as we grow and need to believe in ourselves, family, friends, and others. I hope that this helps in anyway and that you and all your family have a safe and happy holidays!

Mental Blox looks so fun! 👏🏽💕
For the perler beads for your oldest I would recommend some metal tweezers they work really nice to hold the beads to get them on the boards easier

People who believe is Santa be like 😭😭😭 in this video
I LOVE your practical minimal approach because kids are so spoiled these days.
I’m 10 and you just told me Santa’s not real:(
Then don’t watch this video watch kids UA-cam
At 10 you shouldn't believe it's called reality
