KNULL in the last vemon trailer
thank you for finding a way to fit in the "they took your job" joke lol
The way king Jack Black rattled off that line about the age of men made me think he’s bound to become a Nazgul
Witch King
He is the witch king for sure.
Jack black is not in this series
Yeah Pharazon being the Witch King would actually be sweet. Sometimes, pseudo-canon can be good.
I was thinking that blonde elf lady at the forge is getting a quite a lot of screen time too. And she got an early look at the unseen realm (or whatever they call it). I think she might end up being one of the enslaved Nazgul since she doesn't seem to sense anything off about Annatar (that I can remember). Unless she appears in the books?
I think she awoke the future Watcher in the Water, not the Balrog.
Balrog was awoken last season. Could be any of the nameless things so I love this theory
I thought it would be the Balrog cuz of it being in the mines where the Watcher wasn’t. But would be dope for it to be the watcher
Fun fact, the password is in Elvish, because the Elves struggled to master the Dwarvish tongue, but Dwarves found Elvish relatively easy.
That was not the balrog awakening, that was the watcher in the water
Interesting theory. There are many nameless things it could be. The more the merrier
*Valar*: For your courage and loyalty against Melkor in Beleriand, we give you an island between Valinor and the troubles of Middle-Earth in the sea where you will know peace, an island that was raised by Osse, and blessed by Aule for minerals and Yavanna for nature. You will have extended lifespans of hundreds of years. You will be fair, tall, intelligent and be the very best that the race of Men can offer. You will never suffer of ills and diseases. The sea and the world are yours to explore... except the Uttermost West for the Blessed Realm of Aman and Tol Eressea are barred to you for your own good.
*Numenoreans*: And we took that personally 😡
This made me laugh out loud
Just want to bring up, you mentioned the Doors of Durin were like the doors in Peter Jackson's trilogy. . .when in fact BOTH are from Tolkien's original drawing in the book. They are true to his original artwork.
Season seems to be getting better and better as the episodes go on. Loving how its showcasing sauron as the great deciever.
He can only decieve everyone easily, because the elves, dwarves, humans are all portrayed as morons...
@AndrasMihalyi Hmmm of course that's not realistic at all , that great masses of people can be morons. That's sarcasm by the way in case you didn't realise. Also these people are forced to act on desperation hence why it's seems easy. Have you actually watched the show?
@@KyleThomas-s8k So you have nothing meaningful to say and fall back to personal attacks... Now I see, why this poorly written ,acted at Steven Seagal level, shallow and bland show, that has nothing to do with the books is for you... Enjoy. This conversation is over.
Tolkien would be proud of this show
@@tevildo45 Tolkien is now used as a ventilation fan in heaven, he spins so fast in his grave.
Correction - Elendil was the King of the Northern Kingdom of Arnor. Isildur and Anarion were co-Kings of Gondor, the Southern Kingdom, with Minas Anor (later Minas Tirith) was Anarion's seat and Minas Ithil (later Minas Morgul - keep of the Nazgul) was Isildur's seat until it was taken by Sauron
Elendil was first high king of both realms , so not fully wrong.
Valandil is the name of Isildurs YOUNGEST and only surviving son who was fostered at Rivendell throughout the War of the Last Alliance!
That’s why he survived the massacre in which Isildur and all his other sons died and the Ring got lost
Pharazon goes down when he tries to enter Valinor, he does not get a ring. This will be after Sauron allows himself to be captured so he can destroy Numenor.
It's insane to me how the same people who will praise the og star wars films say this is a bad show I'm so glad that clip of Han solo played in this video. That was an actual line in the movie we praise many decades later. This show isn't terrible. There's some frustrating aspects about the writing but every movie is an interpretation.
20:15 "When our work is complete, never again will the world overlook you as the mere scion of Fëanor..."
Well, he was right on that one. Middle-Earth historians remember him as that dude with the worst choice of friends ever.
I like how the third elvish ring was made to bring balance to the other two and how a third set of rings is now required to bring balance to the elvish set against the dwarvish set. Brilliant enlargement of a smaller issue.
Very similar to how the answer to our school shootings /guns problem is MORE guns to control the other guns. Interesting that it was an evil plan on LOTR.
Nothing about this is brilliant
@@vsylvester1368 It Doesn't even make sense
"Ground News: One News Site to Rule Them All."
FINALLY somewhere that is talking about the show as it should be rather than bashing it saying it's a complete failure. This is refreshing.
Season 2 feels so much better
Toxicity sells nowadays. I’ve like the show since season one. It wasn’t as good as this season but it was a good start. This season appears to take away all the quest jumping. The first season jumped to the wizard, the elves, and the men too frequently.
Negative videos get a lot of clicks.
The funny part is when people who don’t like the show but still watch.
@viviorko Tbf there's alot of people who will watch the shows solely for the world or universe they take place in rather than the shows themselves. I've been doing that with starwars for years now
People crave negativity ! Same thing with HOTD this season , if you don't like something then simply don't watch it lol
Ryan out here pronouncing Sauron in more ways than Trump says Kamala
😹💙🇦🇺
This channel is heads above the competition it's not even close
You could say it "runs rings" around the competition :)
Don’t like the political ads. Keep politics out of middle earth.
@@tonygabagool Trump 2024
I'm not sure the Balrog is in the water. This might be the Watcher in The Lake.
I love the show. Books were better but this adaptation has been awesome imo
What did you think of the episode?
Just dreadful.
It depicts Sauron's manipulation of Celebrimbor very well, as well as his manipulation of King Durin via one of the rings. It's a good episode.
Loved it
@@david.stachon Shame because you probably didn't watch it.
Loved it myself.
It was a great episode. My only complaint is the absence of Arondir, my favorite character.
who is that??
@@mr_coffee9917 the boring elf of "color".
@@mr_coffee9917 the black elf
Seriously! I put him right there in my fav group with Gandalf, Aragorn, and Legolas! Such a dope character 🙌
Thank you for doing these breakdowns. I love them!
This episode made me feel like I was watching a story on fast forward. There's no indication of how much time is passing. It feels like many months should have gone by but then characters behave in a way that makes me think everything is happening over the course of a week.
It’s thousands of years we’re skipping
Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.
If they don't show fast-forward story then everyone will say it's soo booring.
The timeline itself is extremely compressed compared to the original Appendix timeline. Of course that has to be done for a TV show, but it is disconcerting if you know the lore.
One problem is that the elves seem to cross hundreds of miles of Eriador in incredibly short timespans.
The intro with the sand reminds me how the Ainur singing creates and forms like in the beginning when melkor sings a different song than the Ainur
cymatics
Yea what@@sssnacksss said
Loving this season , it’s soo good
I think season 2 is better than 1.and think that’s how it’s going to continue every season will be better than the last
So, the reason the rop depiction of Durin's Door is virtually the same as peter jackson's depiction is they are both based off illustrations in some editions of the books
Loving the series, and what can be better than being taken back into Middle Earth. Some talk negatively about changes to the ‘story’ but this doesn’t matter to me. As clearly that don’t own all the rights, so we have to expect adaptations. Can’t wait for the next episode and the following season.
It's worth keeping in mind that Durin's Bane is named for Durin VI, the Durin it killed in the Third Age, not Durins III or IV in this show.
1:47 “the sand moves in time with the music showing how everyone is following the beat of Sauron’s drum.” I think this is actually meant to reference the Ainulindalë, the music of the Ainur which created Middle Earth. If anything it illustrates how Sauron’s work is part of Morgoth’s original corruption of the creation song.
It was a solid episode. Best of the season so far. Mainly because they focused on character. They still have a nasty habit of ending *EVERY* scene on a cliffhanger… They are also showing how the Dwarven kings fall under the sickness of greed and insanity like from Thr Hobbit trilogy
I love that they released this season after the shitstorm that was the acolyte… I’m glad the acolytes failure has helped people see that ROP was always a good show and people just got too carried away with bitching
Love the show and certain channels like new rockstar and screen crush. I don't understand why someone would go through watching things they don't like just to complain. Its weird.
like Nerd of the Rings page lol
@@carmgc He's pretty mixed about it.
They don’t watch it. They watch or read other’s take or just make stuff up.
Miserable people like to make others miserable, so they don't feed like their views/choices are not popular. They want to drag everyone down to their miserable level.
They sell hate to idiots, just as in our political realm.
1:49 not just Sauron, but on a greater level, the Music of Eru illuvitar!!!!!!!
I believe this season will cement the rings of power as an excellent series.
damn that lead in to the ad was smooth as fuck
Smooth as your brain
@@M32Mirach lol why?
🎯🤣🤣🤣
The monster in the lake could be the Watcher, the giant squid that later escapes from Moria. The Balrog should not be in the water (?)
Also, that place was just below the market, not in the deepest parts of the mountain.
It wasn’t in the water, it was deep below in the abyss off the cliffs edge
I agree
@@pirate135246 It was 100% the watcher. The Balrog stuff probably won't happen yet, but the Watcher will be foreshadowing of the Balrog.
But isn't the Watcher in water outside the mountain? Therefore, it's most likely the Belrog.
@@fmaries7000 that is much later, after the river dries up, forming the pool the fellowship encounters. In this time, the river flows through eregion. And the door to moria is a very safe path, of course.
I love getting to see Lloyd Owen in something like this. I keep wanting him to say "JUNIOR". (He was Henry Jones Sr. In Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
Love these videos. Great one, super fun to watch. In the spirit of helpful critique, the clips from the show were super quiet in this video compared with Ryan's audio. Kept having to mess with the volume and closed captions. Thanks for all the work you do on these!
The Dwarves may have unearthed the Balrog, yet the musical synchronicity of their work in the Hobbit and need of light to survive is beautiful. They also uncover the Pokemon franchise, fashioning objects out of diamond, emerald, ruby and sapphire
What work do they do in the hobbit
They were digging till Smaug came, alot of work, or they just dig and fight for fun
Not gonna lie, Top Effing Marks on that segway into the sponsor-ad. 😂But yes Sauron is a master manipulator.
Nice sound effect at 7:00
Ha Ha.... I'm starting to think everyone's favorite pup Doug is a bit of a massacist!!!😅
I’m gonna guess it’s gonna be the watcher in the water and not the balrog that scared the dwarf lady, also what ring is she wearing ? A ring for than ? How many rings turn the bearer invisible?
None of the rings should turn her invisible, only mortals have been seen affected like that so the elves wouldn’t.
Yo! ❤❤❤❤❤ RINGS OF POWER IS AWESOME!!! PEOPLE WILL COME TO SEE THE BEAUTY!!! THE WRITERS & CREATORS KNOW THIS & WE WILL GET THE COMPLETE SERIES
Finally! Some very real MENACE! Great forward momentum here!
Im enjoying the season so far
Just a heads up.... The audio for the clips from Ring of Power is really really low.
apparently the Kazad Dum dwarves and the Eregion eleves were always friends.
Hi Ryan, you said there is a link in the description of your tour dates, but I can't find it? The link to the Screen Crush website doesn't have a "tour dates" section?
Thanks!
I loved this from season 1 ep 1, but it does feel to be going a bit quick!
11:53 From what I remember of English class there was a lot OOOOOOOOOOOOH! In Oedipus Rex. Some Uh uh uh uh too.
Celebrimbor is the bright lord....all follow the bright lord (wondering if they will bring shelob into the store maybe next season....)
Show is enjoyable but couldve been so so much better imo. Is it bad im mostly looking forward to the big coming fight? The characters dont really interest me or move me, at all. Except for Sauron, his arc is really interesting this season.
I had the same reaction watching this episode which reminded me of Dead Poets Society.
I can't believe so many people are still whining about this show being bad.
Because It Is... So badly written

I know an ads coming by Ryan’s haircut 😅😅. Love ya SC, cream of the crop.
I got the impression that (as seen at 12:01) Isildur rides from a high city fortress that is assumed to be the Numenorian capitol BUT could that city be Minas Tirith? Is that why his "vision" is different than the Queen's catastrophic vision? Isildur will escape but the Queen will not, so their Palantir visions are different. I dunno. Just a theory.
Yeah Brimby is back 😊
This was probably the best episode between both seasons, which isn’t saying much..
But I realized it was decent cuz GALADRIEL WASNT IN IT!!!!!!! 💁♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💯
Im absolutely loving this season. As a fantasy fan this is the best fantasy show I've seen as of season 2 🎉
I can't wait for the Sauron was right video!
A brilliant show
Best easter egg was that dissa likes bowling. Who would have thought. Just sucks her bowling ball broke after she randomly sang to a pond for no reason.
Valandil deserved better. His death was sooo forced in this episode and I'm sure everyone saw coming it a mile away. (No I haven't read the books). Just seems like a lot of heavy-handed writing, forcing events to happen instead of a "cause and effect" approach.
As soon as he dropped the sword I was like "noooo he's gonna stab you in the back!" And then it happened 😭everyone knows you throw the twerps weapon in the WATER 😅
Season 2 Is Better Than Season 1 And Episode 1, 2 & 5 Are Best Episodes Of Season 2. But There Are Still Problems Like The Human (Numenor & Southlands), The Wizard And The Orcs Storylines Are Boring, The Best Of Aspect Of The Show Are Sauron, The Elves And The Dwarves Whenever There Is Sauron, Celebrimbor, King Durin, Prince Durin, Disa, Elrond, Gil Galad On The Screen It Suddenly Becomes Interesting. Even In The Silmarillion The MVP Of Second Age Are Sauron, The Rings Of Power And The Elves Specifically Celebrimbor So Whenever In The Show We Get To See Sauron Using His Manipulative And Deceptive Tactics On Celebrimbor, The Story Peaks, The Screenplay Peaks And The Music Peaks...
You changed your pronunciation of Sauron.. :D
The rings aren’t supposed to be like drugs - they represent the many forms of power. LotR is about how power corrupts. The three eleven rings represent the power behind beauty (the bearded elf), mastery (Celebrimbor) and martyrdom (Galadriel), for example, and it shows how any power leads to corruption. The hero is Sam because he is never tempted to put on the ring. The story also represents the loss of childhood and the attainment of power once you leave childhood and grow up, only to long for it again as Sam and Frodo long for strawberries and simplicity in the midst of chaos, but there is no going back. It’s telling the story of human life - the hobbits are childhood, the elves are elitist forms of power that pretend to be elegant (Christianity), the dwarves are greed, the humans ignorance. Smeagol is the strongest character besides Sam because he spends all that time with the ring/power and yet it never fully corrupts him because he never turns into a wraith. The core of the story is how innocence counters corruption.
Mithril is a two-syllable word. ;)
Thanks for the videos!
I really hope at the end of this we see the fighter side of Celebrimbor like the games and the books 🔥
I don't mind if Celebrimbor picks up a sword in Rings of Power, but Tolkien never said that Celbrimbor was a warrior or that he took part in any fight or battle. Not a single line in any of his books.
So far the dwarven rings seem a little too effective at corrupting the dwarves. They were too hardy for the rings to work as intended.
Sauron's intend was to get the Dwarves under his control. That did not happen. But the rings still affected them. They increased their greed for the riches of the mountains.
Numenor you fools!!! 😂
9:29 I thought this too at first, there is a little confusion in the lore because the LAST KING OF NUMENOR becomes a ring wraith, BUT Pharazon dies in Valinor. I think after he dies and shit starts getting real, his son, the complete prick, will declare himself King. How he gets off the island before it blows up, I dunno, but I'm now sure that his son, Lord Belzor, and Eärien get the rings.
Pharazon's death and the downfall of Numenor happen at the same time.
@@anni.68 Yes. His son can survive and declare he himself king and have a ring.
@@markhalver3391 Well, perhaps he leaves Numenor before it's destruction and goes to one of the colonies of the Black Numenoreans in Harad. Then he could indeed become one of the Nazgul, though I doubt it. He is too weak. Maybe he becomes the Mouth of Sauron.
@@anni.68 I think that his obvious treachery is what makes him a perfect candidate. He survives the flood, and is given a ring to oppose Elendil. His mother said he has a dark future, and lore has it there are 3 Numenor lords that are ring wraiths. Besides Pharazon, there are only 3 obviously evil Numenorians.
What adds to the suckness is that this guy didn't figure any of this out himself or, even better, with a bunch of Anons having fun working together. He was just given the decryptions. Kind of takes all the fun out of decrypting. Total Suckness.
Impact Winter Season 3 came out. id love to hear a review. if only to make sure people know about how good it is.
13:40 let’s go trout fishing!!!
Ive never seen so many ads in videos in my life…
Wonder whether Elendil’s voice is really that deep?
Did you guys add a fart noise when Gandalf was sitting in front of the door?
So I thought that the dwarves were supposed to be basically immune to the effects of the rings
I think it will change when the nine will "redeem" them, but we will see
No, they aren't. They do resist Sauron, but they get more greedy for the riches of the mountains.
So you thought wrong.
@editors you should put season 2 in the title as I skipped over this video at least 10 times thinking it was season 1 episode 5
they took your job!
That horrible dwarf wife FORCED Durin the Younger to accept the elves rings and THEN gave him crap about it. She is a shrew
Why the dwarves say they don't need the sun like surface dwellers? If it's night outside, its night inside the mountain right?
Also, Disa stumbled off after the macguffin and was working her way through a small passage and i was all "where is this? Where is she?!" This passage, apparently right near the market but out of the way enough to where as she enters the larger chamber with water, she says "Where am I?" Even she didnt get how the story gor her there.
SO RON ?
Why the episodes of this season are so dark?
Yeah it's very weird like the other night when I was watching it we had to turn off all the lights because it was so dark
I think pharazon will be the witch king
Looking forward to when the starships show up 😉
So ground news is completely unbiased huh
Is it an "Easter Egg" if LOTR references LOTR? Not too sure about that...
The red is probably meant to signify evil and his obsession to the physical world
1:49 it’s called cymatics 😉
Annatar is more annoying than he is good at deceiving, best episode of the season though
