I think it’s pretty obvious why the aren’t tho, there not “happening” right now like marvel and Star Wars is, there are actively lots to talk about with Star Wars and marvel so you see people talking about them much more, other than lore discussions there’s not much to actually talk about with lotr, it’s not like it’s the peoples fault for not enjoying it it’s just due to circumstance

(Movie) Aragorn isn't remotely stern. That's partially why he's peak positive masculinity. Elrond is stern. Aragorn easily and openly laughs, cries, and empathizes. Basically all of the Fellowship are positive role models, and all of them embody different virtues. Sam represents the ideal friend, and Aragorn represents the ideal leader. Gandalf is wisdom, Boromir is redemption, Pippin is curiosity, Merry is passion, Legolas is strength and Gimli is resilience.
Boromirs death hurts so bad. Selflessly giving his whole life to defend his people, makes a single mistake, immediately tries to atone and instead fails and dies. Brutal
I don’t think he fought to save merry and pippin to atone for trying to steal the ring. I think he’s just a brave badass and it’s in his nature to fight to the bitter end. His death and redemption to me are the most powerful of the entire trilogy.
@@paulpascoe663also the part that people often overlook for Boromir is that he truly did not want to use the ring for evil. He didn’t want to have power. He just wanted to defend his people more than anything. It’s what makes him so easily redeemable in my eyes because his motives were pure.
"Forgive me. I did not see. I have failed you all!" "No, Boromir. You fought bravely. You have kept your honor...I will not let the white city fall, or our people fail!" "I would have followed you, my brother. My captain. My King!" "Be at peace, Son of Gondor!" Ugh, best dialogue in the whole movie in my opinion. Might have messed it up a little, but damn. before the death of my grandfather that scene was the only moment i saw my father crying. As a child/youth i did not unterstand why. Today i got to hold back my tears too
hearing someone new butchering the names of characters is one of the most genuine, good hearted things I've heard. Actually made me smile and happy that you finally watched and enjoyed the trilogy!
The OG Trilogy are my favorite movies of all time. Theoden's last ride at the battle of Minas Tirith gives me chills to this day. Loved the review and glad you got to finally experience the franchise!
Theoden's last ride as an ultimate sacrifice is narratively undercut by the the zerg rush from the Dead. He and the Riders of Rohan would have been better off if they had just arrived a few hours later. The Dead don't (can't) do this in the book so Theoden's sacrifice is more impactful.
I suppose it's the insecurity. In the movie they wouldn't have known if Aragorn was successful or if they would ever see him again. So they said "okay let's get this done time is also of the essence"@@gunkulator1
I am so tired of people absolutely having to insert romance into the relationship between Frodo and Sam when they are literally just dudes who got each other's backs for the sake of the entire world.
Describing Frodo and Sam as "just dudes who got each other's backs" because of circumstance is going way too far in the other direction. Frodo and Sam are depicted as more attached to each other than any other companion pair in the book, and by a LOT. I completely understand people reading about Sam weeping and stroking Frodo's hand while he recovers in the Last Homely House or Sam living a prototypical straight life before leaving at the end of his days to rejoin his Old Roommate as a form lustless love when the only intended romance in the story (Aragorn and Arwen) is stunted yearning. Some of that stuff would be called queerbaiting today.
its honestly so nice to see someone with no knowledge of the franchise really go into it like this with an open mind and appreciate it for what it is. I'm only 30 and i remember watching all of these movies in theatres with my family when they came out, and the love every single audience member had for them. The original Trilogy will always be the GOAT. Great video and breakdown!
i wish that the directors of the modern films/show took the same time and passion that PJ did for the first, and didnt over CGI it as much as they have. The immersion and attention to detail was what made the original trilogy shine.
I'm going to be honest Lord of the Rings is the biggest massive Adventure movie anybody could ever seen watch or Witness and all of Lord of the Rings was all Peak
Dude, the "My friends, you bow to no one" LITERALLY makes me bawl every time. And I get pretty damn teared up at the ride of the Rohirrim. There is nothing that makes me feel like these movies and may never be again.
10:40 the battle of Helm's Deep is one of, if not the very best large scale battle ever put on screen. You always know what's happening and where people are in relation to eachothers the action is great, the visuals are still better looking than what we get these days with 10x the budget
If it wasnt such a straight forward video i would think he was saying their names wrong on purpose as a joke or something. Doesnt take away from the video really, but it is kind of jarring to hear lol.
"Isengard Tower"... Orthanc, please! But for real, props to him for trying it's hard and if it is the first time with some of these names I understand it
17:46 Even though the Hobbit movies came out after the Lord of the Rings movies, the Hobbit book was written before the Lord of the Rings books. That’s why the story feels more complete and meaningful. They didn’t try to squeeze it in, it already existed when Lord of the Rings was being created.
I'm so glad this was mentioned, kinda hurt my soul when he acted like it was just made for more money instead of actually being an adaptation from a book that was written before lotr.
If you think each individual film is long, I went to the cinema to watch a 12 hour straight showing of all three LOTR movies extended editions back to back. Probably both the stupidest and best thing ive ever done, but it really adds something else to watching the series - you are engaged all the way through. Highly recomend!
I completely agree that the romance between Kili and Tauriel was just horrible and made no sense. What I think should have happened is that the romance should have been between Legolas and Tauriel, but have Tauriel die which then leads to Legolas leaving and setting it up for him to join the fellowship. I also just say this because I've always felt bad for Legolas's character, his mom dies when he's young, his dad doesn't really care about him, he can't get with the girl he likes, and he's basically a background character in the OG series with only a few cool fighting scenes and dialogue between him and Aragorn or Gimli.
90% of the hobbit moves are filler I wish they stuck to the book made it 1 or 2 movies and made it Ames a little more at kids like the book was as it was written as a story Tolkien could tell his kids before bed. The necromancer was based on the silmarilian witch I think rings of power should have been based off of
It's refreshing to see someone reviewing these with fresh eyes. As someone who initially disliked the prequel trilogy, I forgot how decent they can be if you don't focus on the comparison with the book/originals.
@@andrewberry7117 If it didn't utterly defile Tolkien's work by rewriting his meticulous lore and force-feed his ghost a script at odds with his own beliefs (moral ambiguity, relatable evil, etc.) it might be worth a couple of points for some pretty visuals but, oh boy, does it make Middle Earth seem *small* ~
I think the first one to kick it all off, fellowship of the ring, will always be my favorite. For a 2001 movie I still watch it and it still blows me away every time. I love the two towers and return or the king almost just as much, but there’s just something nostalgic about fellowship since I was 11 when it came out
What I'm really happy about as a Tolkien scholar is that in spite of modern fashion of sympathetic villains, you got exactly how this Dark Lord force of nature works, and how lesser villains (the Nazgul, Shelob, Gollum and primarily Saruman for the first two movies) complement the presence of Sauron. Reading the books, you'll see that's also how the protagonists work - the hobbits serve as a reader stand in and main characters of the story, while other heroes represent various archetypes, often very complex, but with less character development. Well, waiting for follow up video about books...
something too that wasn't mentioned much was how amazing the music is in these films. A+++ it's some of the best music i've ever heard for a film series. And hot take, I recommend first time viewers to watch the theatrical versions FIRST, then watch the extended versions later on.
I have to disagree with you big-time! I think the theatrical cuts mess up pacing and continuity in the movies, additionally I would always tell everyone to watch a movie how the director wanted it to be, not how the studio wanted to shorten it for cinemas
@@joramsim for first time viewers the theatrical cut is better paced. Especially in movies 1 and 2, a lot of the extended edition stuff is not really needed for a first time viewer.
@@joramsim I prefer the extended editions myself (except for "Battle of the Five Armies"), but Peter Jackson has said that the theatrical versions are actually his director's cuts, but that he created the extended editions so people could have a more in-depth version to watch at home. Occasionally he'll say that he wishes he had kept a particular scene in the theatrical version (the one that springs to mind is the scene at the Green Dragon in FotR, which IMO improves the pacing of the first part of that movie in such a way that it makes it feel shorter rather than longer), but for the most part the theatrical cuts are the ones he's happy with.
My wife and I do the original trilogy marathon every year and it's always been amazing. You know it's good when this is from 2001-2003 and yet they still have the same impact every time I watch it.
And continues to get better with time. I dream of a renaissance where producers say fuck it and spend the money to put this much love and effort in other films
I have always said this that me and my friends grew with some banger franchises as you said LOTR, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Spiderman, Xmen, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bourne, Fast and Furious started! hell MF we got Shrek for that matter! i feel privileged growing up with so much content!
Nothing will ever beat the original trilogy, I just finished watching the extended ROTK last night after not having seen it in a decade or so. Those movies meant everything to me when I was a teenager. And The Hobbit films aren't NEARLY as bad as some people claim them to be, especially when you consider the tumultous circumstances and the stress Peter was under while making them. He was thrown in at the absolute last moment to try and steer the ship as it was barrelling down the river. It's a miracle they're as decent as they ended up being, despite a few goofy moments here and there. That silly Tauriel/Kili romance is absolutely the product of studio interference.
Eowyn doesnt just kill a black rider. thats the witch king of angmar, the most powerful of the 9 Nazgul. its a big deal .. for all those people who say men dont want to see women be powerful characters.. take a look at Eowyn. NO ONE had problems with her taking down one of the strongest characters of the franchise & this was an EPIC moment.
10:35 Shadowfax is one of the Mearas, the so called lords of horses. They are said to be descended from the horses of Valinor and refuse to be ridden by anyone but the kings and princes of the Mark, allowing Gandalf as a notable exception. Additionally, they are exceptionally intelligent (they can understand human speech), strong, and fast.
Great video. Also small thing at 12:48. That wasn't just a black rider aka Nazgul. That was the Witch-king of Angmar the chief of the Nazgul and Sauron's great captain in his wars. The most powerful black rider and the one that stabbed Frodo nearly turning him into a wraith. Needless to say she was her and stroke a pivotal blow against Sauron.
Dude thanks for the shout-out 🤯🙌, I watched the Lord of the Rings movies for the first time a few months ago with my friends and yeah these movies are amazing definitely S Tier and I might watch The Hobbit movies maybe one day we'll see and Rings of Power nah I'm good 😂
Guillermo was the main director of The Hobbit movies and spent years working on it but the studio kept putting him in limbo not allowing him to start filming which frustrated him to a point he left the project, he got replaced by Peter Jackson who got three months to carry out all of Guillermo's planning. For context Peter Jackson was given numerous years in the planning of LOTR and here he was more or less forced to use whatever Guillermo's vision was or use CGI to change it.
I would highly recommend the Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War Games. They're not canon, but in their own seperate timeline they fit in between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings and are amazing games
I mean, your complaint about Smaug not being present at the end of the battle is something to take up with Tolkein. But I see it this way- he's not the end boss. He's a power vacuum. His death sets in motion the battle that commences- without it, the battle doesn't happen anyway.
Bro the first time I've cried for a movie was this franchise. Especially at the end with the crowning of Aragorn and how everyone bows as he makes his walk, then gets to the Hobbits and before they bow he says, "My friends, you bow to no one" and he and everyone bows to them. God dammit that scene gave me goosebumps and made me cry my eyes out❤
Its the grand daddy of high fantasy. Without it, Game of Thrones, Harry potter, and many many others WOULD NOT EXIST! its a classic good vs evil franchise. as for rings of power.. its okay to watch.I always warn people to dont put too much hate in a new iteration because if it DOESN'T DO WELL, it doesn't encourage other studios to give it a shot. and even if it kinda sucks rings of power is still a good watch and entertaining.. i had no issues watching it despite its flaws.. It was great to learn about the orcs, see Numenor etc.
I really disliked the rings of power and thought it was really bad. But I am still thankful for its existence for this exact reason. I hope it accomplishes the same thing the Disney Star Wars sequels do, even if they are not good it reignites peoples passion to see good content from that universe again and leads too the creation of so much more. I don’t think rings of power has to be received well to encourage others to make more, I think the shows existence in itself is enough to get people wanting more good lord of the rings. We have already seen new projects like war of the rohirrim coming out so that’s what I’m hoping is next for the lord of the rings.
Bro I’m kinda sick of people acting like the hobbit movies sucked. Like a handful of things could have been a bit better sure, but I loved the hobbit movies and you can’t convince me they were bad haha
I recently watched the third movie in theaters for the first time. I’d seen it several times, long-term fan, but missed the movie releases. Man was it worth the movie ticket. The big screen did so many good things for it. Watching Gandalf ride out to save the soldiers fleeing the Nazgul from Osgiliath actually felt like you were there riding behind Gandalf. It was a thrilling experience. Great reviews brother! Agreed all the way bar a couple minor details maybe. Definitely agree on Rings of bleh though. 😂
I got to see all 3 of them in theaters again during the recent re-release and it was like getting teleported back in time 20+ years and experiencing it as a little kid for the first time again. I will absolutely take every chance I get to see it in theaters again any time it comes back. 11/10 experience.
Man, I remember as a kid, I watched Fellowship one time when I went with my late grandfather to a friends house. We weren't there for too long, and the television was really old, had no sound, and you could barely see the picture. Luckily there was subtitles for it, and I remember the whole time we were there I was fixated on that screen taking in as much as I could. It was heartbreaking when we had to leave because I already became so obsessed with it, being only around 7 or 8 years old, in contrast to now being 21. When I was finally able to convince my mom after whining so much about it, she caved in and bought them for me, but only allowed me to watch them with her. When we did... it was magical. The sound, on a newer T.V that had a clear picture, beautiful color and nothing was wrong with it. I used to watch at least 100 times or perhaps even more annually back then, no exaggeration in the slightest. I will never stop watching these films, and if I can, and if I do have children, will try to get them interested with the magical world of The Lord of The Rings.
seeing the thumbnail I knew for a fact it was both click bait and trolling because return of the king being an F tier movie is probably the greatest joke anyone could ever tell
Great video, I’m glad you chose to bring the joy that is the original trilogy into your life. I was 8-13 from ‘99-‘04 and got to see HP and LOTR in theatres every Christmas. It was peak movies for sure. Btw they are Ents. When they gather ‘tis an Entmoot. I guess where they live is called the Entwood however I’m not sure about that.
You're missing three films, films that have been made several years before that Lord of the rings trilogy. And total there's four Hobbit movies and five Lord of the rings movies. The first three movies made are animated. The animated Hobbit I think is better than the live action hobbits. The animated Hobbit for example has the eagles talking to our heroes. Which is perhaps one of my favorite scenes ever in all these movies.
Did you really just call LOTR “sleeper” ??? Haha I actually laughed. How old are you? LOTR is not underrated or underappreciated in any way. Literally one of the biggest, most popular, impactful and revolutionary/groundbreaking movies ever … come on man you can’t be serious 😅

An excellent, appreciative summary: thank you, DT. I can never think of The Hobbit as a prequel since it was written first. Tolkien came back from fighting in the trenches of WWI, started a family and then wrote the book for his children in the 1930s. And this is the difference between TH and LotR, which was published about 20 years later..... TH is a children's book, containing lots of songs and quite a bit of silliness, even though we are also introduced to the great inventions of Bilbo and Gollum. But, LotR was written for adults: it is a great epic, a superb piece of literature and contains many moving, emotional beats. Peter Jackson did a splendid job with the film and so the studios thought they could have a similar success with The Hobbit. Jackson, when he finally took over from del Toro, was not only short of time, but was faced with the very difficult problem of building some kind of bridge between the children's story and the adult one because audiences were expecting another LotR. Blame Tolkien for killing off Smaug part-way through the story because he wanted to show that, in a real war, the conflict isn't over even when the villain dies. But, this just added to PJ's problems. I do blame Jackson, however, for inventing Tauriel and forcing her and the accompanying romance into the story: I'm afraid it hit such a bum note that it made me cringe. But, overall, I enjoyed The Hobbit trilogy and I think that Jackson mostly rose to the challenge when confronted with so much problematical material and so many demands from the studios.
@@blackmoon34785Bro, tiny inconsistencies?!! There were tiny inconsistencies in the original trilogy. But they were justified in order to honour the values the Tolkien's work had. The honour of friendship, kindness, good vs evil and that even the smallest of people can make a difference. The problem with RoP is that it's not holding any of these values and doesn't understand what they can change and what they can't. Peter Jackson understood the principle behind Tolkien's work and tried to honour it with his first trilogy. Amazon unfortunately understands just money and ticking inclusivity and politics boxes. They simply made a show that has absolutely nothing in common with the source, except of the names.
Man your totally right about 99 to 2004. I was born in 88 and was 11 to 16 during this period. My generation were so lucky to get all this stuff realeased when it was.
well... Sauron's will, his escence, his evil prescence is tied to the One Ring, so technically Sauron is still the Main Villain and he is always there, lurking like an unseen but omnipresent force of nature. That is one of the things that makes Sauron one of, if not THE BEST villain ever.
@@D4rkn3ss2000 So yes they are bound together, but that doesn't automatically make Sauron the main villain. Sauron is the overarching villain, but that's a different thing. The Ring is the ever present antagonist. Constantly trying (and often succeeding...for a time at least) to twist and corrupt the "good guys". While it's not a perfect comparison, I like to think of it kind of like Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. The Emperor is Sauron,, the ever present and ominous threat that doesn't show itself very often before the finale. The Ring is Darth Vader, the constant threat that is always trying to corrupt the "hero" ( or "heroes" as the case may be).
I’m glad that you were able to appreciate the Hobbit trilogy despite some of its flaws. I grew up watching those 3 in theaters and it was really my intro to Middle Earth, so I’ll always be really nostalgic for them, even if LOTR is better. Every 1-2 years I rewatch all six from AUJ to ROTK, and it’s just a fun, epic, emotional rollercoaster every time. But yeah we don’t talk about Rings of Power 😅
If you look at the films, LOTR smokes Star Wars Original and Prequel Trilogies. But there's a lot of supplemental material like the Clone Wars animated show that fleshes out things a lot
@@Ash_Wen-li Star wars trilogy getting beaten by LOTR trilogy isn't really a knock on star wars. LOTR is just so Iconic and was made damn near perfect. The 1st of the sequel sequel trilogy was somewhat enjoyable, but the 2nd and 3rd films quality jumped off a cliff

I'm glad younger generations are getting to experience them. These movies were formative media for me in my mid-teens and i watch them once a year still.
Its probably worth noting that The Hobbit book was written before the LOTR books. Meaning, that alot of "fanservice" was just how it was written. The Hobbit was also originally one book, which is why The Battle of Five armies was short and Smaug died early.
No. Legolas was not in the book. The necromancer was not in the book. The white council was only mentioned (meaning we didn’t meet Saruman or Galadriel). The book was written with children in mind. There was action. But Bilbo hit his head in the beginning of the battle of five armies. Then he is retold what happened in the next chapter. The book didn’t need three movies. One could have been enough. Two could have worked. But the final movie has pretty much nothing from the book.
@@TheGrindelwald Narratively, both LOTR and The Hobbit are in-universe accounts as seen and recorded by Hobbits. The Hobbit, i.e. There and Back Again, was written by Bilbo and he delighted in telling his stories to children so the story has a more fanciful point of view. The Lord of the Rings was written by Frodo who was more serious than his uncle. He recorded his story for posterity but the Ring forever altered him both physically and psychologically more so than it did Bilbo. Frodo did not enjoy retelling his tale and the story itself reflects his more adult point of view.
I absolutely love the original trilogy. The Hobbit wasn't bad but was definitely dragged out unnecessarily. I had seen the theatrical versions of the first trilogy but I watched the extended trilogy with my wife last year and I was blown away by how perfect the three movies really are. I feel like any fantasy fan should watch them at least once
I remember when I watched FOTR the credits rolled and for the first 30 seconds there was silence. Then someone started clapping, and instantly the whole cinema applauded. I've never seen that happen since, and I don't expect I ever will. Seeing that film when it came out was just unbelievable
When your discussing the Hobbit, I feel like you don’t realize that the Lord of The Rings, and the Hobbit are books, adopted into movies, the original book for the Hobbit, was a book, not a 3 movie series. For some context, JRR Tolkien wrote the Hobbit before he wrote Lord of The Rings, and it was meant as a children’s book, where as the lord of the rings was much more mature. That’s why in the hobbit you have scenes like the trolls, where they are clearly there to be more comedic rather than an actual threat. Another important thing, is that the Orc guy, Azor whatever his name was, did not exist in the books, nor did the Elf guard who fell in love with the dwarf, or alot of other things. The film makers really embellished a lot to add more screen time. The main antagonists of the hobbit was smog in the books, but also, the necromaner, which, tho not explained in the movies, was Sauron. A lot of the lore of middle earth is realy interesting and sadly missed tho understandably missed in the movies. I would suggest reading the books to start, starting with the hobbit, which is super short, and if you like tolkiens writing, then get to enjoy the massive series that is lord of the rings. If you enjoy that then there are countless theories, online discussions etc, not mention the silmilirian (book that goes over the first age of middle earth as goes in depth on the gods and elves). There is a lot of lore to discover if you’re interested.
This video popped up in my feed after I got back from seeing Two Towers Extended in theaters, glad to have someone come around to one of the most amazing fantasy worlds ever created.
Once you read the 100 book page that they were made after you realize that peter jackson screwed up massively with them. i am a hardcore Tolkien fan and have read both LOTR an Hobbit more times than i would care to admit and the comparisson between how the original trilogy remained very close to the book vs how the prequels added most of the caracters and changed the story completely is just a disspoinment and an insult to Tolkien's works... And im not gonna talk about ROP because UA-cam has a caracter limit for comments...

If youre still interested in this world, you should check out the M4 book edit of The Hobbit. You can find it easily online, and if you own the movies its not breaking any copyright laws to download. It takes the 3 movies and combines them in to a little over one 4 hour movie. It takes out things that werent in the book, and tries to be as close to what Tolkien wrote as possible. Its 100% the best way to watch the hobbit series imo.

I remember watching it as a kid and being so happy everytime Gandalf was on Screen. The intro to Hobbiton in fellowship is a comfort scene for me.
I just want to have as beautiful a beard as Gandalf or Gimly
(Movie) Aragorn isn't remotely stern. That's partially why he's peak positive masculinity. Elrond is stern. Aragorn easily and openly laughs, cries, and empathizes.
Basically all of the Fellowship are positive role models, and all of them embody different virtues. Sam represents the ideal friend, and Aragorn represents the ideal leader. Gandalf is wisdom, Boromir is redemption, Pippin is curiosity, Merry is passion, Legolas is strength and Gimli is resilience.

@@paulpascoe663also the part that people often overlook for Boromir is that he truly did not want to use the ring for evil. He didn’t want to have power. He just wanted to defend his people more than anything. It’s what makes him so easily redeemable in my eyes because his motives were pure.

The OG Trilogy are my favorite movies of all time. Theoden's last ride at the battle of Minas Tirith gives me chills to this day. Loved the review and glad you got to finally experience the franchise!
Couldn't agree more!
I saw them in theaters this year and it was the first time I have ever cried in a move theater. You could hear half the theater snuffling

I agree Frodo and Sam are like brothers. They would do anything for one another. The same is for Pippin and Merry.

The Ring of power is not that bad it one of the best show to come out for past 2 to 3 years.
Agreed it’s just the people who can’t handle it has tiny inconsistencies with the lore who hate it
@@blackmoon34785Bro, tiny inconsistencies?!! They simply made a show that has absolutely nothing in common with the source, except of the names.

bro Sauron made the Ring. So yes, Sauron is the main villain.
Sauron is the literal Lord of the Rings….
well... Sauron's will, his escence, his evil prescence is tied to the One Ring, so technically Sauron is still the Main Villain and he is always there, lurking like an unseen but omnipresent force of nature. That is one of the things that makes Sauron one of, if not THE BEST villain ever.
Sauron and the ring are bound. That's what he keeps him alive...

@TheGrindelwald I did mean Elrond mainly but yes, a lot did change upon adaptation.
@@TheGrindelwaldThe Necromancer was mentioned in the book and was the reason Gandalf was afk half the time
@@TheGrindelwald Narratively, both LOTR and The Hobbit are in-universe accounts as seen and recorded by Hobbits.
You have NEVER WATCHED LOTR before this?
Fr
Yeah this was my first time!
You deserve the diamond playbutton ❤
tf? you weren’t alive in 2004?
Loved hearing a fresh perspective and take on the greatest franchise in film. Loved your thoughts
Loved watching them!
Lord of the rings The best trilogy ever
The Hobbit trilogy is so underrated
It really wasn't as bad as I was expecting
@@DyliciousTakesit’s good, but two is very mid I would say 6/10, and 3 is a mess tbh
@@lagzie2301the last words that Thorin says is also reminiscent to the book. Is it masterpiece or magnus opus material, no. Do I still think it’s pretty good, absolutely
I know the quality of the Lord of the Rings trilogy is great but I can't help but enjoy the Hobbit trilogy more and I think it simply jusy comes down to me absolutely loving Bilbo as a character
@9:44 e-owen, that's one way to say it lmaooo
Rings of Power good tho
Agreed, but it cant compare to the 9g trilogy
@@bradsweeney2196 yea but after watching the masterpiece that is the lord of the rings trilogy it just feels bad in comparison. It is not that it is bad.. the original is just so good it completely overshadow rings of power.
nah
@@trevormccormick1565 season 1 is great but it kinda goes down hill from there
All 3 LOTR movies: S+
All 3 Hobbit movies: A+
Rings of power: *you can't draw and infinitely long chart to rate it cause it's infinitely bad*
I finally got around to watching these series.. and HOLY SHIT guys. I sat through the first lotr movie, and then for the rest of the day and the next one I watched all 6 films. So compelling with the action and storytelling. I must say also, great editing Dylan and this is a well worded review of the series. I honestly thought I was the only one that HATED those generic scream sounds at times.
Regarding the original series... I had the distinct pleasure of showing my girlfriend these movies for the first time. She was absolutely captivated just like you and she can't believe she never watched them either!
Your pronunciation of some of these names of characters and cities is brutal, but I'll let it slide. Extremely well done reviews. Well edited, well scripted.
