      If you do this and she doesn't throw you and your bike out I say hold on to that one real tight, she's a keeper for sure. - Van

      Better to ask forgiveness after the bike is securely mounted in place in case she has a momentary lapse of sanity upon discovery. - Van

    Bro, Ur ultimate storage method will surely get the bike inside home.. no doubt..
    But the husband has to spend the winter outside the house. :P

    A tip to help the lady support the ultimate storage method: once everything is settled make sure you clean all rooms you went through so she has a clean house when she comes back instead of tire marks everywhere.

    Hi Brian I am just getting back to riding after 35 years and have been enjoying your videos. Is it OK to leave the battery out in the garage on the bike with a tender or should you bring it inside?Thank you Mark.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  5 років тому

      No issues with leaving it sit in the garage as long as it is not sitting on a concrete floor. - Van

    Do you have some tips on personal winter storage, as a lot of people gonna be sleeping on the couch after this one?
    Cot or air mattras? Netflix/Amazon Prime/Hulu? Beer or whisky?
    Appreciate it!

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  7 років тому +2

      Yes I do actually. All you need to do to get back into the good graces with your wife is purchase a little massage oil kit and put it to use on her. Every woman loves an enthusiastic massage and will get you sleeping in your bed for sure. - Brian Van

      Sportbike Track Gear Motul 10w40 or do I need something with w50, what temper can I expect?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  7 років тому +1

      The Motul 300v smells pretty darn good for oil. If you want to use a motocentric product for the massage oil I would recommend Maxima SC1 for sure. She will love the smell and the aerosol dispenser is a win. I have included links to the site below:

    Hi, I need to store my zx9r Ninja 2003 for a few years, it has carbs, What shall I do with the fuel mate, drain it or fill it with stabiliser. If I drain it, what’s the best way to stop the tank from rusting. Tks, Stevie E 🇬🇧

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  16 днів тому

      A few years is a long time. To prevent rust in the tank you can fill the tank to the top and put some stabilizer in the fuel. For the carbs you could drain them. - Van

    I don't have a heated garage. Should I put insulation around my bike then cover it with the bike tarp?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  4 роки тому

      No need to insulate it. Just throw a cover over it, put a battery tender on it and wait for the spring. - Van

    will this apply to a brand new bike

    My bike will be in my garage that is generally 55 to 60 degrees during the winter. Should I still winterize?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  4 роки тому

      That is warm enough you will not have to worry about much. Still a good idea to have a tender on the battery, change the oil and fill the gas tank. - Van

  • @ArturJ1999
    @ArturJ1999 5 років тому +1

    Hello, after winter, when I will change the oil, should I also start the bike to warm it a little bit, or I should just drain all the oil without starting the bike, and fill it with new?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  5 років тому +1

      I would recommend starting the bike and letting it come up to operating temp before changing the oil. - Van

    Yo man if I just detached my battery from my bike do I need to charge it once a month?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 років тому +1

      Best practice is to put it on a maintenance charger that charges as needed while it sits. If you do not have one of those then once a month would be fine. Just easier to plug it in and leave it until spring. - Van

      Sportbike Track Gear Thanks you, the place I decide to store my bike I do not have any place to plug in the battery tender, any of those battery products you recommended in this video would work to recharge the battery?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 років тому +1

      Each of them will get the job done for you. I like the Battery Tender Plus Automatic Battery Charging System because it can be used to charge a discharged battery and maintain a fully charged battery. You could also use this to charge any 12 volt battery that needs charging so you get a little more value for your money. Here is a link to this on our site:

    Hey Brian, I filled my tank with non-ethanol premium and the bike will only sit about 90 days. Is it a huge deal that I didn’t use stay-bil?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 років тому

      IMO there is no need to do that on a modern bike. Most bikes will be stored in a garage (or in your house if you have a patient woman) out of the elements for the couple months it will be hibernating. - Van
