A tip to help the lady support the ultimate storage method: once everything is settled make sure you clean all rooms you went through so she has a clean house when she comes back instead of tire marks everywhere.
Hi Brian I am just getting back to riding after 35 years and have been enjoying your videos. Is it OK to leave the battery out in the garage on the bike with a tender or should you bring it inside?Thank you Mark.
Do you have some tips on personal winter storage, as a lot of people gonna be sleeping on the couch after this one? Cot or air mattras? Netflix/Amazon Prime/Hulu? Beer or whisky? Appreciate it!
Yes I do actually. All you need to do to get back into the good graces with your wife is purchase a little massage oil kit and put it to use on her. Every woman loves an enthusiastic massage and will get you sleeping in your bed for sure. - Brian Van
The Motul 300v smells pretty darn good for oil. If you want to use a motocentric product for the massage oil I would recommend Maxima SC1 for sure. She will love the smell and the aerosol dispenser is a win. Hi, I need to store my zx9r Ninja 2003 for a few years, it has carbs, What shall I do with the fuel mate, drain it or fill it with stabiliser. If I drain it, what’s the best way to stop the tank from rusting. Tks, Stevie E 🇬🇧
A few years is a long time. To prevent rust in the tank you can fill the tank to the top and put some stabilizer in the fuel. For the carbs you could drain them. - Van
That is warm enough you will not have to worry about much. Still a good idea to have a tender on the battery, change the oil and fill the gas tank. - Van
Hello, after winter, when I will change the oil, should I also start the bike to warm it a little bit, or I should just drain all the oil without starting the bike, and fill it with new?
Best practice is to put it on a maintenance charger that charges as needed while it sits. If you do not have one of those then once a month would be fine. Just easier to plug it in and leave it until spring. - Van
Sportbike Track Gear Thanks you, the place I decide to store my bike I do not have any place to plug in the battery tender, any of those battery products you recommended in this video would work to recharge the battery?
Each of them will get the job done for you. I like the Battery Tender Plus Automatic Battery Charging System because it can be used to charge a discharged battery and maintain a fully charged battery. You could also use this to charge any 12 volt battery that needs charging so you get a little more value for your money. You not worry about gas and fumes all that storing your motorcycle inside I want to do it I have room in my bedroom is it safe with a heater in the same room not a huge room 144sqft
This bike has been in my house for like 5 or 6 years now. When I moved it in I pulled the fuel tank, then drained and cleaned it out. Also pulled the battery out of the bike. - Van
IMO there is no need to do that on a modern bike. Most bikes will be stored in a garage (or in your house if you have a patient woman) out of the elements for the couple months it will be hibernating. - Van
My guy. . . Wow. Im a rookie. Love your videos man. Much appreciation. Huge fan. I follow your recommendations to a t
Thanks for watching, happy to hear the videos have been helpful. - Van
Most important part "do it when the wife isn't home."
It is what it is.
If you do this and she doesn't throw you and your bike out I say hold on to that one real tight, she's a keeper for sure. - Van
Better to ask forgiveness after the bike is securely mounted in place in case she has a momentary lapse of sanity upon discovery. - Van
Thank you guys little late but this is the most helpful video on UA-cam! You guys kicked rev villas ass!
My brother! Thanks for that. - Van
Yup , year round here in Florida. Except weeks when a hurricane comes lol
A little jealous right now... - Brian Van
Bro, Ur ultimate storage method will surely get the bike inside home.. no doubt..
But the husband has to spend the winter outside the house. :P
I just change the oil and bring it into my house for the winter. Great videos 👍🏻
i like the indoor storage for sure
The right way to go for sure IMO. - Van

For sure that is a good idea. - Van
That 1 dislike is from the wife who's husband just followed the "ultimate storage option"
Stephen has not been around for the last couple of days now. Almost miss him. - Van
True rider and mecanic!
No Hollywood BS over here man, all authentic from the word go. - Van
Great video.
Thank you for watching. - Van
Love the videos thank you, my main source for my Yamaha r3 , hey wondering do I need to worry about spark plugs for winter storage?
No need to worry about the spark plugs for winter storage, good to go. Thanks for watching and glad you find the videos helpful - Van
Thanks brother
You are welcome and thanks for watching! - Brian Van

No issues with leaving it sit in the garage as long as it is not sitting on a concrete floor. - Van
Thanks for the reply and all the reviews. The tutorials are great as well, awesome work.

I don't have a heated garage. Should I put insulation around my bike then cover it with the bike tarp?
No need to insulate it. Just throw a cover over it, put a battery tender on it and wait for the spring. - Van
will this apply to a brand new bike
Yes you still need to prepare it for storage if it was ridden. - Brian Van
My bike will be in my garage that is generally 55 to 60 degrees during the winter. Should I still winterize?
That is warm enough you will not have to worry about much. Still a good idea to have a tender on the battery, change the oil and fill the gas tank. - Van
Hello, after winter, when I will change the oil, should I also start the bike to warm it a little bit, or I should just drain all the oil without starting the bike, and fill it with new?
I would recommend starting the bike and letting it come up to operating temp before changing the oil. - Van
Yo man if I just detached my battery from my bike do I need to charge it once a month?

Hey Brian, I filled my tank with non-ethanol premium and the bike will only sit about 90 days. Is it a huge deal that I didn’t use stay-bil?
Don't see why you wouldn't just add some. It's like 5 dollars.
rustler08 its all put away and I’m lazy, that’s why.
90 days won't matter. You'll be fine.
90 days is not a huge issue I would not lose any sleep over that. - Van

If i want to get my bike in my house i need to lift it up the stairs......no can do :(, i have a little shed...that will do
That's what riding buddies are for, just call them up. - Van
winterize me daddy!
So no fogging the cylinders?
IMO there is no need to do that on a modern bike. Most bikes will be stored in a garage (or in your house if you have a patient woman) out of the elements for the couple months it will be hibernating. - Van
