Anyone who doesn't clearly see that the LOADpro is far superior to a power probe, VoltPRO or test light, doesn't understand how the tool is used or perhaps how electricity works. This guy made an awesome tool and is an awesome teacher. I'm glad I bought this tool and would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Keep up the good work bud!

Daniel, I have your book and your Load Pro. Simply the best electrical book out there! Haters are going to hate, you worked you ass off to develop this tool. They responded by infringing, and making it "their own". Just wanted to let you know that I get it and most other guys I know do as well. Thanks for your vids..... I just found your channel. Yes, I know longer use scotch tabs......

I purchased your LoadPRO test leads and your probe kit. I am a heavy equipment mechanic. LoadPRO saves me a LOT of TIME! It has found a bad/internally corroded battery cable lug, a bad starter relay, and a bad heater blower switch. But, most of the time it does not find anything wrong, and that's where it is most useful to me. Because I have no dead ends to diagnose! I can simply replace the part and be done knowing the battery, wiring, fuses, and switches are not the problem.

I bought the load pro a few weeks ago. My time locating the bad spots in circuits has dropped dramatically. I found a wire with heavy resistance in a starter relay circuit that would have had me chasing my tail just days before, found it in minutes. My boss has 20+ years experience over me and he chose the power probe and suggested I invest in one as well. Not being the sharpest at electrical I researched for a long time before choosing the Load Pro. Very happy I did. Now if I can just get my boss to believe it works. P.S. bought the FET book with it-great combination, really helping me improve my electrical diagnostic abilities.

As a retired industrial electrician and electronic technician of many years you are a great teacher and a great inventer of this tool. I have dealt with alot of circuit voltage drops in my time and I bought this tool only because I believe in you and in your great product. I have used it and it's one of the best tools ever. This tool is not just for automotive but any circuits of up to 28 volts AC or DC.

I ordered this tool through my Snap On Truck, albeit under the Blue Point brand, my dealer took 3 weeks to get it in as it came from the US on special order, he told me he’s never sold one before or since, he has two trucks covering a huge area, simpliest tool, fool proof and it works..!! Thank you Mr Sullivan.

Nice tool. Never speak from a point of resentment. Never speak about other products. Any publicity is good publicity. The human attention span is short. If they clicked here, then feed them positive, uplifting and fun information about your product. Always compliment other products if they are good. Briefly. Keep up the good work don't give up. Be real and talk about your love for tools and innovation and make people like you. Talk of serving customers, helping technicians and a job well done.

The voltmeter reads battery voltage but doesn't need battery voltage to operate. The other tools need to be connected to the battery, in order to read the battery, or they don't work at all. A mirror doesn't need electricity to see your reflection - a video camera does. I can use the voltmeter anywhere on a vehicle to read voltage - but I don't need to hook it to the battery. It's pretty simple. Keep reading.

    • @wademurphy9994
      @wademurphy9994 2 роки тому +4

You should probably mention that while a dmm doesn't need system voltage of the equipment your working on, it does indeed need/have a battery (primarily as a reminder I guess). Without it the meter, and load pro as well, are useless. I've seen plenty of guys waste hours on a diagnosis just to end up being low/corroded batteries in their meter. If you end up on a road service and forgot to pack spare batteries, you're SOL.
I don't understand the reason for the comparison either. Aside from reading voltage the power probe and load pro doesn't share any other functions of one another.....or do they? I don't even know what that third tool was you were comparing so I'll refrain from comment on it. I do own a power probe and it is awesome for most things but it doesn't load test circuits. I got a light that pulls approx 3.5 amps for that. I've been strongly considering getting a load pro just for a little more simplicity, hence what lead me here.
In reference to your comment in the video about poking wires, it's never a good idea to pierce a wire but there are times when it is unavoidable and it should only ever be implemented as an absolute last resort. Make sure to seal the poke hole up when you're finished.

I just happened on this channel and i am an electronic engineer. I see easily the real true value on the diagnostic side of this tool. Before i give too much feedback i am going to test it as well, i am sure my findings will be as good as described and can not wait to try it. I also was a semi mechanic/ heavy equipment mechanic for over 23 years and it just makes sense to me as he describes!! Wow i must have just got out of being a mechanic and then going to college to get my engineers degree when you put this on the market, i sure could have used this product and saved me tons of hours tracking down problems!!

I really like what you are doing to get technicians to understand the real world of electrical diagnosing. A great contribution to the industry!
I have the LOADpro and bought your 200 page book and gained a much better understanding for how electricity works. You make it very clear as to how to identify open, shorted and resistive circuits.
You have a lot of passion and I really need more like you on my team.
I wish you much success in selling your LOADpro.

Fantastic presentation Dan !! I am lost for words trying to understand why anyone could not see how it works. I think you should have mentioned as well that the other testers only use battery ground and not circuit ground because in my experience I find more circuit grounds with high resistance that circuit power wires.

Daniel, first off I can a big fan. I have both the Load Pro and one of your books. I use my load pro on my Power Probe. I recreated this same test on a gasoline engine and I was able to see a voltage drop using the Power Probe by hitting the button to see battery voltage and then testing the connection at the plug and finding .3 volts less. I then did what I always do and connected the Load Pro to the Power Probe and tested with the Load button and with the 500mv load I got 9.7v. As a note I really wish that you would make the Load Pro II with banana jacks so that I can use all of my Fluke adapters, (mainly my back Probe pins). I would certainly be one of your first customers for one.

Brilliant bit of kit I've had mine about for about 2wks and today they paid for themself. Saab 9-3 no fuel pump. I had 12v at the pump but it still didnt work, hit the button and it went down to 1.2v traced the wire back to a plug under the bat tray that was green with corrosion. Using these leads gave me the confidents to say the fault was in the power side and in turn saved me time, and the customer money. Another garage had already put a pump in it because they thought it had + and -.

Nice stuff. Greatly enjoyed the tutorials. The concept (and value) of voltage drop will not be recognized people without basic electrical knowledge. The concepy of the IR drop is essential to understanding what is happenning. The mechanic today has to have some basic electrical theory to effectively troubleshoot. I loved your comments on the training manuals!

Thanks. I'm pretty thick-skinned, and I've admitted I'm a bad salesman. I just expected everyone to understand. Yeah - right... The biggest problem I have with Waekon is that they let me do all the work to educate you guys and then they jumped in and are taking advantage of all my hard work. Oh well.

Your videos have helped this hobbist/hack immeasurably. Thank you so much. I bought a loadpro yesterday. Can't wait til it gets here! I would also mention here that I am subscribed to hundreds of UA-cam channels but your videos are the only ones that have their very own dedicated personal playlist although I have many generic playlists. As someone who is self-taught I really struggled with some crucial concepts before I started watching your videos. For someone like myself, you have truly been a godsend in helping me fill the holes in my knowledge. Thank you thank you thank you!

+Daniel Sullivan Dan, please don't disable the comments. I enjoy them. I learn a lot from the comments, even from the trolls. By the way, even after reading the negative, even mean spirited comments, I took delivery of my LoadPro and the yellow book last week. I have yet to use the Loadpro but am enjoying your fine instructional book. Just remember, nobody ever kicks a dead dog. You're a winner, losers love to kick winners.

I just bought this tool from Amazon and I have no doubts that it is a great tool. I am not a professional tech or mechanic, just a back yard shade tree handyman. It would be great if you could make some basic repair videos using the load pro..i.e, A.C not working how would you trouble shoot why the compressor won't turn on...or some sort of electrical problem and how to solve it with the load pro.

is the load sufficient enough that no faults are going to slip by ya?
any reason the resister inside of it is not any larger?
some people will use a headlight bulb, im saying whynot 2 or 3 or 6. If a circuit has a 10, 15, or 20 amp fuse im thinking load that sucker up! this puts a 1 amp draw on it correct?

    Great video... Mr Sullivan
Going to purchase one... As an Electrical Engineer I understand the need to be efficient in my work... I do residential electrical repairs and mods in the homes and started customizing vehicles (wiring systems) and found loadpro to be a excellent product.... I also started working ( troubleshooting) automotive and going to be using your product.
Second, started doing UA-cam videos and going to use your product ( per your promission) in my vehicle videos .. ( if I could only use this in my residential videos, lol)... Great product.....forget the dislikes ....
    Keep up the of work....

Hello Mr. Sullivan. I am a veteran mechanic, of automotive, Cummins, diesels, and as of the last 5 years busses (city busses). I am also a load pro , and power probe 3 owner. In my honest opinion Power probes, and load pro are 2 very different tools, and should, be used together in ones diagnostic arsenal. I am very happy with both of these tools, but I must admit; I am am confused on why there is this sense of competition. My feelings are that the power probe is a fantastic diagnostic tool, and quite honestly my go to tool for electrical problems, but having the very affordable load pro is also very important. I really feel that both tools have there place in my tool box, and would not be caught dead without both. Maybe get the word out that your very useful, and affordable tool does have a specific purpose that differs from power probe, and it would be a sound, and very affordable investment for anyone, who is interested in electrical/electronics diagnosis to have one. As far as the hecklers go, it comes with the territory, so don't let it get to you. If these guys don't know a good tool when they see one, then let them continue to do it the hard way. Thanks for this excellent invention, and thanks for making it affordable enough for just about anyone who want one to get one. You rock. Dave Pierce (AKA Sir Cranksalot).

David Pierce I agree with you completely, I also have the load pro and find it a very useful tool . but after hearing about this tool and doing quite a bit of research on it , I believe it will be my next purchased, as for the low current to the ECM on a Cummins that should not happen in my opinion ,sloppy maintenance practice, again in gm fashion , on drivability and low power ,always Ck the battery bx first.I learned that lesson one Friday night along time ago on a road call with a t storm coming in fast.

David Pierce Btw ,when I first started in the truck business some 35yrs ago ,an old guy in the shop wre I worked had his own version of a load pro for trailers,an electrical box with switches w/ a 7way cord hooked to a battery charger , turn her on and look for the smoke , Sammy was a good old boy and the best two stroke Detroit mechanic I have ever been around ,I learned alot from him RIP.

I support you Dan.. Anyone that understands the relationship between voltage, current and resistance in a circuit should easily be able to see that this a great diagnostic tool. Most of all it saves time and money if you are skilled and know how to use it correctly. Awesome too is all I can say that wont break the bank.

The Fluke Low Z feature is pretty old - in fact, it's why they wouldn't talk to me about licensing my idea back in 2002. That feature is more directed at higher voltage AC, while LOADpro is for lower voltages - typically DC. The physics is the same - my application is a little more direct. LOADpro can see as little as 0.5Ω because of the load. $60 is way less than $160... Feel free to call. Thanks.

Hi Daniel (last reply cut short), I'm not slagging your invention mate, you've obviously spent hard time and effort to get it here, and you have many followers. My main point was you could have added alot of credibitlity by using a meter not showing a low battery warning, and by not stuffing probes into connector faces, using the p/probe properly etc. BTW disconnecting the plug couuld clean it enough to hide the fault, this why I leave in a faulted condition and back probe it for accuracy.

I been researching the various electrical diagnostic tools the last few days and I just realized that the Power Probe IV(4) is styled, and shaped to look very similar to your LOADPro tool. That is just too obvious to me that they are copying your ideas. You're very intelligent and a great teacher.
I have a suggestion to monetize your intellectual property. Create, a premium UA-cam channel where you provide online video training courses for a subscription fee. Also, I think you should make an e-book version of your text books and sell it online, that would allow you to sell more quickly and easily. Also, your videos have a very low number of views.
You need to find a way to make videos that people will watch more, then you can promote your product better and get more subscribers. Then you make money from UA-cam and google Ads that run next to your content. It can be a very significant income. Since you are such a great teacher, I believe you are not fully capitalizing on your income potential on UA-cam.
    Suggestions:
*More popular videos, more views, more subscribers, (catchy titles, and thumbnails)
    *e-book sales,
*Monthly subscription to premium training channel. (check out ScannerDanner.com)
*Capitalize on UA-cam and Google Ad revenue.
*Possibly consider go high volume low margin business model with a new version of your tool, (The Walmart method), this will make your tool so widely used and available it will become the defacto standard. Everyone and their mother will have one in their toolbox and know how to use it.
*Donate these to schools (elementary, junior high, highschool) - The Apple method, to get people loyal to your products at a very early age.
Good LUCK! WISHING YOU THE BEST ON THAT AMERICAN DREAM!
