Most big box hardware stores don’t give a shit what you do. I built a whole ramp in Home Depot because I didn’t want to buy the tools. No one said a word. 😂 WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE IMO😂

Take a trip on the Itty Bitty with the boys or just with the wife brother. Do some well earned fishing and floating now that you've done so much work on that project.

(6) 33/44 gal trash cans with tops all sealed with flex seal and duct tape for floatation, about (8-10) 2x4s for framing ,(2) 2x6s for the mast,( 2) boards of plywood for a platform +railing,small tarp, use the scraps to make a rudder and possibly a seat
entertaining as always! more boat builds! maybe for the next idea a high quality build but one that can hold all 3 of you so it doesnt get too expensive?
Do a part 2 and see if you can make some necessary adjustments to your builds. All three designs had potential and with a little work and hindsight, it will be a more competitive race.
My play would be their 57 gallon plastic totes. Each cost only $33 and displace enough water to support hundreds of pounds of weight. Buy two, waterproof them, then have tons left for a solid frame, mast, and sail.

For future reference, It's really easy to heat-shape PVC. Just a paint stripper torch, a blow torch, or even stick the ends into a Webber BBQ. So you could easily warm up the ends of PVC tubes, and then just clamp the ends together with a couple of bits of wood to make your shape. Then you can seal them or glue them, or you can even weld the stuff. PVC is awesome. This method would save a stack on endcaps, and also mean you get sharp ends to cut through the water at breakneck speeds :)
