Mr Enoeda.. my sensei for 7 years 1997 until 2003 his philosophical nature and kind nature taught me so much more than just Karate.. he was a very dear friend who I owe much to ... thank you sensei...
This is the training that builds skills. Out of the dojo, slow breakdown of kicks, athletic, and refreshing to see that the practitioners are in shape.
@@metekosar2820 Have you ever had a fight in the street using kata? I can't wait for you to answer so I'll just come right out with it. It's not that easy to explain actually, but I'll try. Kata is a training exercise, it's for keeping supple, balance, strength, focus, stretching etc, there are many things to be gained from kata. If you take it just as a fighting aid and the moves LITERALY/STRICTLY as that, then it may not have the desired effect. Here's an example, if someone just punches a punchbag, does nothing else, no sparring, just punches a punchbag, and expects it to work in a street fight, that would be similar to someone who thinks kata alone would work in a street fight. They might get lucky! And also remember, it's not this art or that art which will make you invincible. It's the person. Even then, Ali and Tyson got beat at least once. No one is invincible. There's a great deal to traditional martial arts. A bit more than just smashing each others face in. MMA is not an accurate title really, they should have stuck with UFC. So to sum up, you're almost right, kata alone isn't ideal, but you mentioned the street and just the will and some stamina might be enough in that scenario. But if someone thinks kata alone would work in a street fight, they don't understand kata
