There are so many possibilities (too many). Which one is best for me? I have to decide on one beforehand because i don't have time to think about it. Which technique should I choose best in the end?
The one that works best for YOU...! "But how I find out...?" Throughout sparring, starring, and again...(?), yes, sparring...(so goodluck and Osu...;-)-...!
I was attacked by a bully - I was going to elbow him, but instead of a front stance, I got into a cat stance, so it didn't work - he got into the proper stance and elbowed me.
Will someone attack in that way, punches like that only exist in karate, not on the street, it's different, so get used to thinking practically, not getting caught up in theoretical thinking.
How about a front kick when a attacker is advancing on you. Stamping front with ball of foot into solar plex. Or a snapped side kick to stomach or knee or round kick to liver. All followed up with a forearm strike back fist or straight punch. All of these are traditional shotokan moves.
Wow! These choreographed self-defense techniques will get you killed for sure, dojo sport karate and street self-defense are miles apart. It is the nature of muggers to be sneaky, they will not wait until you are ready before attacking, that happens only in basic dojo practice where rules are observed... there are no rules out on the street!!!
Perfect observation. It's incredible how martial arts masters insist on teaching things that are not functional. Generating false expectations in your students. Perhaps they themselves (masters) are the biggest deluded. Many are completely unaware of the reality on the streets.
These are good basics and are very useful. It also takes training and skill level for the discipline of the arts. Coming from someone who survived attacks with knives.
Some ok bunkai some completely ridiculous fantasy bunkai And to defend against reverse karate style punches when nobody is ever going to attack you like that is pure delusional
After watching this instructional video, I finally got the correct Karate techniques. Thank you Sensei. Osh! 😊🥋🙏
This guys good, fundamental of the basic self defence
Until he faces sombody that doesn't attack him with a reverse punch or a real grappling move then he's toast
I know they're "dojo techniques " but I love the economy of motion and the linearity - principles that CAN be useful for the street.
When you KNOW, you KNOW!
Best video 👍💯👏thank you sensei 🥋oss
Thank you sensei you have made me master shotokan well and i understand it
As soon as you grab me ...
It’s ON like shotoKAN!!! 💪 😡 🥋

I have been in many street fights and the karate techniques do work
@@AlexanderSkowisk They are only not functional when you don't train karate! ;)
