Very catchy, yes!! Deep Purple knew how to get the crowd going. Their live concerts are also among the loudest shows I ever attended.

Groovy! Very sixties. 1968 to be precise. The album cover shown is from When We Rock, We Rock, and When We Roll, We Roll, a compilation album released in 1978. I picked up my copy of it within a year or so of its release -- "Space Truckin'", "Kentucky Woman", "Hard Road (Wring That Neck)", "Burn", "Woman from Tokyo", "Hush", "Smoke on the Water", and "Highway Star" (Live). Good stuff! I might even still have that album tucked away someplace.

Haha. When I read the title Hush, I actually thought you were going to play the song There's A Kind Of Hush by Herman's Hermits. Two great songs, two very different sounds.

Another great use of a Bo Diddley beat that I bet you would absolutely love is the Iggy Pop hit Lust For Life. It's been chopped up with bits and pieces of it used in so many different commercials, but of course the only vocals they were ever allowed into it would just be the title Lust For Life, as a lot of the rest of it would be so cool but there's no way they would ever allow it to be on the air. Anyway it's a fantastic dance song; it's just more in that Iggy Pop early Punk vein, but it's got so much soul and so much grit and it's so compelling.

One of my favorites!! This was before Ian Gillan on vocals & Roger Glover on bass. Vocals courtesy of Rod Evans! But you still have Jon Lord on keys, Ritchie Blackmore on guitar & Ian Paice on drums 🔥🔥🔥

Hey Biz. Yeah man, this is EARLY Deep Purple. In fact, this is the first Deep Purple song I ever heard and I loved it right from the drop. The organ really stands out for me and that solo he (Jon Lord ) played was freaking out keyboardists at the time since they had a huge problem trying to duplicate it. The whole song is dope. Also love Ritchie Blackmore's lead guitar playing on this one. Peace.

Another amazing song that was played on the AM radio that made going for car rides as a kid always so much fun. We heard so many different genres as very young kids that really shaped musical tastes as we got older. Hearing music that way was so enriching.

First hit with their first lineup. They had many changes over the decades leading to a heavier metal style! I remember listening to my brother’s record of a compilation of popular tunes played on a well know FM radio station in NYC. I loved the way it rocked with that organ adding to the whole sound!

They still do Hush at every concert. And it's a fantastic experience every time. Ritchie had an unusual tone in the part you mentioned, but it's his guitar. Otherwise Jon Lord could do almost everything with his Hammond. Saw them 87 in Sweden and Ritchie was in a mood and refused to do the encore, Smoke On The Water, but Jon took both Ritchies part and his so we in the audience really didn't miss the guitar.

I had the single when it was new. Good ears! It is from the late 1960's. I used to play it loud. I'm certain my dad wasn't a fan. But he would just pull his hearing aid out. Mom though was always a surprise as to what she'd dance too! Try "My Woman from Tokyo " if you haven't already!

Vicious, lethal band, right out of the gate! Next, get right to their hottest album, Fireball. The song No No No will knock you over. And The Mule, No One Came, Fireball, Strange Kind of Woman - classic album! Then try either the album Perfect Strangers or the album Purpendicular - both absolute perfection with savage fire.

Love the original singer for Deep Purple Rod Evans on this one. They fired him in favor of Ian Gillan. They wanted a more rocking sound and didn't think Rod had it. He firmed another band called Captain Beyond. Eventually quit music and dropped out of the limelight.
