I think Transformers can self regenerate their energon, just enough to keep living, thats why they live for thousands of years. Optimus wasnt able to self regenerate because Lockdown must have hit a spot in his body that regenerated his energon. Thats why he looks to busted even in vehicle mode when Cade finds him. When megatron tore the part off sentinal on that one frame it looked like he got torn in half like jazz. Just goes to show how powerful bayverse megatron is
Megatron wasn’t really trying to fight Optimus or Sentinel. Megatron definitely is the most powerful decepticon in Transformers movie history. I put the Fallen the top tier of most powerful character in transformers movies. The Fallen’s death does not count because the Fallen was weakened from the dynasty of primes.
These transformers movies are the best at making the Transformers actually life like with moving parts and stuff, takes real focus and timing as well, I respect that hard work
I think that the reason the battle damage doesn’t come up in vehicle form is because they’re transforming into the vehicle at the exact moment it was scanned so it’s almost like its a locked look but as their body’s are naturally in robot mode they can sustain visual changes like damage and dirt and that returns when they transform
This was really well done. I like how the beginning is kind of a misdirect to be explained later which I thought was really clever. Also the part where Megatron rips sentinel’s entire body apart made me laugh a little because when I saw dotm I noticed that yeah Megatron rips a good chunk of his torso out but because of you I now know he ripped like all of it out! That frame was hilarious!!
I believe the idea of the Transformers disguising their battle damages can extend to Mohawk in The Last Knight. This is because we know that he has green parts all over him in his robot form, but when he becomes a motorcycle the green parts (as well as his attached utensils) magically disappear.
This might be unrelated to this video but I think how ironhide got his scar is with a battle with starscream because he looks more angrier than usual during that scene where he said "ITS STARSCREAM!" (But then again that could be how he acts around all cons) and he acted less angry when Mojo peed on him so I think that starscream might be the reason why he has a scar

I always thought about this ever since I saw the scene when Bee shrinks the All Spark and transforms into his vehicle mode. He was clearly dirty in robot mode so there shouldn't have been any reason for his vehicle mode to be clean. I made up this weird scenario in my mind where Sam and Mikaela cleaned Bumblebee in superspeed
I always just assumed that the part loss was just fixed after each battle by Ratchet Now that you mentioned about the regeneration of their parts, it does kinda start making sense (that unless it's just continuity errors) And when Optimus Prime lost an arm, I always wondered how his truck mode would've looked like without it since his forearms are part of the major parts of his vehicle mode
Another interesting note is in rotf starscream loses an arm at one point and in a later scene it shows him just re attaching it without issue which maybe another thing to point to regeneration maybe when optimus lost his in dotm he could do the same thing they just didn't say it
The regeneration has its own plotholes since the IW comics show Starscream cutting his tattoos onto himself with his finger between TF1 and TF2, and Transformers can’t scar like normal (Lockdown’s scratch is weird) so it should go away, but it doesn’t
idk how I feel about this - I never questioned how Cybertronians get/have dings or scratches let-alone keeping them in/out their humanoid/bestial or alternate-modes, but I don't like the idea that they couldn't just transform into beatercars or lemons when alot of RL cars out there are "not in the bestest of shapes." I genuinely don't care about realism, but do note it'd be more realistic if they had SOME scratches or if they transformed into Eclipses or Saabs or Scions some other carcompany - or atleast one or two of them. Every Autobot who lands on Earth cannot be a fancy-schmancy supercar or hypercar, some would have to essentially use Jolt's idea and transform into a Prius or Nissan Leaf. Some would probably transform into smaller and smaller altmodes like micromasters, minicons and minibots did. And, I know Hastak cannot sell Cybertronians that transform into guns anymore - but it'd make sense if there were some Autobots or Decepticons or Wreckers who were targetmasters or weaponizers or "big bots" that just happened to take the altmode of a blunderbuss (like Megatron or Browning) There has to be variety w/ altmodes, and not only that, but with other things in Transformers.
I’m pretty sure they have some sort of liquid coating that surrounds them in vehicle mode which gives off the illusion that they aren’t damaged and are completely clean so people don’t start talking if the bot or con is trying to hide.
My theory to the part loss in the films while fighting is that it's supposed to be a kind of illusion because you know when two giant metal robots are fighting in the real world, it's supposed to look real and serious so for example if Optimus kicks into Starscream's head of course parts a flying all over the screen because our brain normally thinks ''Oh that must have hurt'' and to make this scenario work even better, they add parts flying of his head but because of the frames moving on so fast and all of the stuff it's happening we just see parts flying and mainly the two characters fighting and our eyes do not try to focus on little details like which exact part is comming of his head unless you tell your brain to analyze this scene slowly and look into detail. That's what I think about why this happened when the characters lost part and they magically were back in another scene.
Yes, finally, I've been wondering about this for a super long time since I first watched the 07' Film, finally I can see a video where Trans Theories did a theory on it.

Now I'm thinking about a "What If I Survived - Sentinel prime Edition" but it would be impossible.. I think. You are the smartest man and you can take the MOST hardest things and turn them into a LEGIT video.
The change is due to a static forcefield. The whole vehicle is completely covered and has a preprogrammed projection of what the robot looks like in his/her Alt-mode. The complete pristine look is what happens visually. You are looking at the vehicle in an as was perception instead of an as is visual reality. How coould they look normal pafked next to everyday looking cars with battle scars?
When they return to their primary modes, they grow the battle scars back because they are proud of them and they show them to each other and talk about them and are manly
I like the idea of having the alt mode be a complete 100% visual projection of the vehicle they scanned and as they transform that projection is disabled showing the real look of the transformer as a robot covered in parts of a dirty and imperfect imitation of the vehicle. So if the projection is somehow disabled in their vehicle mode, it'll look a bit off and dirty with a couple of missing vehicle parts and instead robot parts that seem to pop out.
When they turn into robot forms the vehicle parts have specs of scratches or paint chips so I think it’s suppose to resemble how they look on Cybertron.
I always thought it would be funny to see optimus try and transform after her got his arm torn off in dotm just seeing a truck but with one corner gone lol
Something I would like to see is what happened to Dino after DOTM. A direct quote form the Transformer Wiki is “Five years after the Battle of Chicago, Mirage (Dino) was not listed as "deceased" by the CIA taskforce, Cemetery Wind”
When one of the Transformers sequels aired in Australia, Megatron literally transformed into an Australian version of a commercially operated front load industrial bin truck in order to hide from Optimus Prime. This was done primarily for product placement purposes, but Optimus Prime found him despite his attempt to resemble an ordinary garbage truck! Any time these robots transform into a clean looking vehicle mode is for that exact reason: product placement. The owner of the vehicle design wants to ensure people see the best side of their vehicles, and how are people going to see that if it's dinged up and battered beyond recognition? It has nothing to do with the Bayverse, apart from ensuring sponsored designs are shown to potential customers in an "as new" form whilst on screen. Marketing of product, product placement, it's been done in many movies, every time you see certain vehicles in any movie, they're all shiny and new looking, so as to appeal to potential buyers.
For the missing parts theory; - Energon could be the reason that parts are "regrown", as it's the life force of Transformers. Starscream is still the same old "Myself over the others" character, so it would make sense that he hogs energon. (The eye could be popped out and retract back in naturally perhaps) Meanwhile, Megatron survives deprived of it, making the Docs a must to repair him. This could also explain Sentinel's damage, since he was revived by the Matrix, a source of energon like the All Spark. It could be a sudden burst of repairs to prevent a shutdown. Ironhide kept his scar to give himself the "tough guy" look that he always wanted since the 1st movie. And his tire could be from a part of his body that we never knew had them. Does that make sense as a theory?
Aaaaah,i still remember the good old days when i watch all Transformers stuff, but for some reason i stopped watching it and now i started watching it again. Now I feel nostalgia🤧😌❤️
Trans hear me out fam, I love you’re videos sm they mean the world to me I’m addicted to rewatching every video and I couldn’t live in a world without TransTheories!
Have you seen The Fire Brothers' theory regarding how the Autobots split up to evade Cemetary Wind? It involved a cut scene from Age of Extinction set in an abandoned power plant, where Bumblebee and Leadfoot's vehicle modes were spotted on set. If so, I believe you could make a "cleaned up" version of that theory that better aligns with what you have established.
Hey Trans, thanks for yet another great video about making the live live action Transformers movies making more sense. Also if you could please make a video of What If I Survive about all the Autobots had lived through the finale battle in Transformers The Last Knight.
Now when my friends ask me why I only apply battle damage to the robot mode, I can just say it's for screen accuracy and show them this video, and totally not because I'm lazy
I assumed it was some sort of metallic coating that covers the vehicle mode to “seal up” the cybertronian and that coating fades after they assume their robot forms
I was a transformers fan since prime. I always love to ur videos and you have inspired me to make my own theories on my second channel. So I thank you.
I always wondered how they navigate while in vehicle mode? Can they "see"? Or is it like some 360 camera all over their alt mode or something? Of course they are still aware and sentient, but how do their vehicle senses work? I think Theorymus is brilliant, keep up the good work!😁
My view was always that they had 2 states that they can swap between, cybertronian and alternate, which I think are almost fully seperate besides aesthetics. because the vehicle was in nice condition when scanned, they always return to that form when able to, because as you said it wouldn’t be much of a disguise if it changed every time they fight lol, kinda like how the “transformium” can just kinda morph into a perfect version of things because the perfect version is what is “programmed”
I actually think one of the reasons is when they transform from vehicle mode to robot form. The parts are shifting so much they get scratched up because there are soo many moving parts moving at the same time and touching each other. That's why in robot mode they also look battle damaged. Similar to a human sometimes when you get a small cut it takes a while for it to show similar to transformers.
I always told myself that they use some hologram cover for their vehicles modes. I imagine that they can do whatever they want with the "exterior" look of the vehicle, best example being Optimus Prime in AoE scanning a totally white truck and being able to custom it with his favourite blue and red flames!
Another good example of why cybertronians can regenerate parts is bumblebee in the last knight where he litterally pulls himself together and gets the parts nemesis prime pulled off of him back attached

Marketing of product, product placement, it's been done in many movies, every time you see certain vehicles in any movie, they're all shiny and new looking, so as to appeal to potential buyers.
6:52 I always loved how Megatron rips out Sentinel's torso in that scene.
For the missing parts theory;
- Energon could be the reason that parts are "regrown", as it's the life force of Transformers.
Starscream is still the same old "Myself over the others" character, so it would make sense that he hogs energon. (The eye could be popped out and retract back in naturally perhaps)
Meanwhile, Megatron survives deprived of it, making the Docs a must to repair him.
This man actually deserves 1 mil for all his great content
I can’t believe that i haven’t watched you in so long, and you are still anazing
Amazing video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Keep going!
Maybe bc when they transform the parts are being moved and and the oil so that’s maybe how they are dirty / scratched up also
I’ve had this question stuck in my head for a long time thx for making this video. 😁
Love the video keep up the great work.I always assumed ratchet repairs the damage.
Aaaaah,i still remember the good old days when i watch all Transformers stuff, but for some reason i stopped watching it and now i started watching it again. Now I feel nostalgia🤧😌❤️
Trans hear me out fam, I love you’re videos sm they mean the world to me I’m addicted to rewatching every video and I couldn’t live in a world without TransTheories!
anyone else here because trans theories got hacked
Yea
I think he got hacked
Yep he better be able to get it back
I twitter him up
Yep
This is probably the earliest I've been to any video ever
WOOOOO
This really explains a lot in the movies, thanks TransTheories👍🏼
Yo my brother loves ur videos. I love u videos. If this youtube channel never existed I would be very stuck to make Transformers Theories
Great content as always Trans Theories
Man I just commented about this on one of your other videos. Finally, answers!
Once again another great video from the one and only Trans Theories.
Thx my dude
Did you get hacked? There’s like a crypto livestream or something on your channel going on
Pretty cool tt I enjoyed understanding why battle damage goes when in alt mode
BROOOO. I swear this was my theory on this topic some years ago when I thought about it. Nice find and vid as usual.
Thx my man
Have you seen The Fire Brothers' theory regarding how the Autobots split up to evade Cemetary Wind? It involved a cut scene from Age of Extinction set in an abandoned power plant, where Bumblebee and Leadfoot's vehicle modes were spotted on set. If so, I believe you could make a "cleaned up" version of that theory that better aligns with what you have established.
I saw his theory and it's definitely really good I do plan to use parts of it in order to construct my Mexico City timeline
Hey Trans, thanks for yet another great video about making the live live action Transformers movies making more sense. Also if you could please make a video of What If I Survive about all the Autobots had lived through the finale battle in Transformers The Last Knight.
I just dropped a "like" rating.. I hope it helps the channel a lot. Good work, dude!
Thx my man, glad you enjoyed 😃✌️
Ayo! You nailed it and I just subscibed!
I cant ever not enjoy your videos dude great job again👍
Thx my man
Now when my friends ask me why I only apply battle damage to the robot mode, I can just say it's for screen accuracy and show them this video, and totally not because I'm lazy
Thxs bro you deserve more subs you really put in so much effort, Thxs for the video since i have always wondered this.
Anytime man 👍
@@Theorymus thxs
I always enjoy the video
Same
I assumed it was some sort of metallic coating that covers the vehicle mode to “seal up” the cybertronian and that coating fades after they assume their robot forms
I’ve always wondered this for a while thanks for letting me know!
I was a transformers fan since prime. I always love to ur videos and you have inspired me to make my own theories on my second channel. So I thank you.
Wow 👌 👏 now I understand 👍 😉😉😉
Keep up Trans 😎😎😎😄
Thx man
@@Theorymus your welcome 😄😁😎🤝
When you said a Driverless car would attract a lot of attention, we say in the "Bumblebee movie", the cop was next to Bee as he was chased by him.
My guy working overtime to make the bayformers make sense.
I always wondered how they navigate while in vehicle mode? Can they "see"? Or is it like some 360 camera all over their alt mode or something? Of course they are still aware and sentient, but how do their vehicle senses work?
I think Theorymus is brilliant, keep up the good work!😁
I been wondering about that too.
Nice to see I was correct about the holograms on your community post! I really didn't expect that.
I have literally been asking this question since I watched transformers for the first time. Tysm
I think the dirt and stuff makes the autobots and decepticons look more badass
Love the video already 💙☺️.
Another good example of why cybertronians can regenerate parts is bumblebee in the last knight where he litterally pulls himself together and gets the parts nemesis prime pulled off of him back attached
This was something I always wondered but now I just accept the fact that the producers can’t go and scratch and dent up perfectly good EXPENSIVE cars
CGI
To be honest, those are details that kinda fly over my head.
a pretty good anwser for a question I've been asking to myself since TF2007
great vid
Thx dude
4:29 almost ran outta breathe 😂
"I may not have a weapon, but i can still transform and roll!"
**Optimus turns into a Peterbilt 379 with half the front end missing**
I’ve never noticed that ironhide had a scar
The more you know
This is something I’ve been thinking about for awhile.
3:58 Bee looks amazing
