Your reaction was much like my own. I was skeptical that a metal singer could sing this with the respect it deserves. I've listened over 200 times; it still brings chills and again today; tears. He started low and a cappella with tenderness; added instrumentals and then went up an octave to begin our accent to heaven. The harmonica is a childhood gift from his deceased father. When he wrapped this song in the metal he excels at it becomes apparent this song has waited 250 years for someone to be able to sing it just like this. I will never hear a better rendition of this. At the end we are standing at the Throne of Heaven hearing the angels sing metal right alongside him. Dan Vasc is a phenom. He is a Brazilian who has worked for nearly 13 years to perfect this voice and his vocal toolbox seems to be limitless. He has over 200 videos out there, mostly secular in nature. The early ones are good. As the years progress he moves into phenomenal. For those who wonder, yes he has stated he is Christian; he put this out for Easter. He put all his considerable power into this song and he has a lot of power. I truly believe the Holy Spirit added to it. The first time I discovered this dude was the first time I tuned into a weekly stream on UA-cam called Friday Night Tights, a year and 8 months ago. He made an original intro song for their show, as well as a video. That intro song helped hook me, and it hypes me up every time the show starts. I've only (recently) missed 1 episode since. My favorite covers of his are the Mulan "Make a Man Out of You", "Angels We Have Heard on High", and his cover of Sabaton's "Last Stand". His old Elvis cover of "Love Me Tender" is as well, because of a very special story that he adds onto the beginning. There's a pretty cool interview that he did with Chrissie Mayr as well, if people want to hear more about him.
It brought me to tears. I wasn't able to let go because I was in a discord call hanging out with family and friends. I was listening to the Metal Singer on the side so my family and friends were not listening to it at the same time. Amazing it brought emotion worship.

The first time I saw this Dan Vasc video I was convinced that no one could ever sing this song better. Then Dan proved me wrong in the next and every subsequent verse. After being obsessed with music for over 50 years I don't believe I've seen the best Dan has to offer. But what I have watched, and I've watched a lot of videos on his channel, he is the best I've ever seen.

Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. The first time I discovered this dude was the first time I tuned into a weekly stream on UA-cam called Friday Night Tights, a year and 8 months ago.
He made an original intro song for their show, as well as a video. That intro song helped hook me, and it hypes me up every time the show starts. I've only (recently) missed 1 episode since.
My favorite covers of his are the Mulan "Make a Man Out of You", "Angels We Have Heard on High", and his cover of Sabaton's "Last Stand".
His old Elvis cover of "Love Me Tender" is as well, because of a very special story that he adds onto the beginning.

It brought me to tears. I wasn't able to let go because I was in a discord call hanging out with family and friends. I was listening to the Metal Singer on the side so my family and friends were not listening to it at the same time. Amazing it brought emotion worship.

The first time I saw this Dan Vasc video I was convinced that no one could ever sing this song better. Then Dan proved me wrong in the next and every subsequent verse.
After being obsessed with music for over 50 years I don't believe I've seen the best Dan has to offer. But what I have watched, and I've watched a lot of videos on his channel, he is the best I've ever seen.
