    Wow Holly he was ace during that session and let's not forget when we first met Rocky he was afraid of his own shadow. Now look at you two! I'm so pleased for you both! Ah! Love you guys! 😍😍😍😍😍

    Aww bless him Rocky the Racer is getting better every week with your patience, he may not be the brightest sandwich in the lunchbox, and can be as mad as a box of frogs sometimes, but he is so genuine and trying harder for you every week. His canter on the left after jumping was the most balanced he has looked in my humble opinion and it will only get better as his back end strength builds up x

    Oh Holly I really think you are the best thing to ever happen to Rocky!
    He couldn't have wanted a better person to take him on this new learning journey of his. The improvement he is making is amazing, he really is coming on in leaps and bounds bless him. He was brilliant with the fillers, only freaking out once, then jumping them like he had been all his life! I think he really loves and trusts you completely, which is so awesome.
    Loving following your journey together and really looking forward to your next vlog hun. Take care 😘❤

    He's awesome and improving SO FAST!!! I am so impressed with both your training and with him as an individual. He's been in training for a mere 5 weeks and he's already getting stronger, hacking alone, jumping cross and show jumps, as well as small courses off property. AMAZING!!!

    Oh Holly, I am so happy for you, you've cracked the brain/sound barrier in Rocky and now he trusts you completely and is working so very well. He looks so good on the lunge now on both reigns, though a little less on the left, as you say, but it is coming. You're plans for Rocky are really going well and your knowledge, kindness and stick-to-it-ness are bringing him on so nicely. I'm glad you feel happy with him, you both deserve it. Looking forward to Rocky's future outings and continued improvements. I totally agree with you that a switch turned on in Rocky when you were jumping him in the cross-country section last week (a few of those jumps had nice form). And now it is onward and upward (just a little bit :) I bet those girls on the ponies were proud to be riding in a class with a big race horse, so cute.

  • @barbarianvee
    @barbarianvee 3 роки тому +2

    "Come on, human, I think we can beat those wee ponies!"
    He's such a sweetie, I love all his snorting out on the hack (with those Australian background noises, too). His issues with one rein of the canter and dashing off after jumps, running out, etc. rather remind me of the lesson horses I used to ride. Your calmness with him makes me wish I could get back to riding, even if I had to deal with that sort of thing again...

    I'm not understanding about his balance on the left rein. What does that mean? How does it affect his movement? Is the result of an old injury? Could you elaborate? Love your work! Loving Harry. Wish I could give him a squeeze and some scratches!

    • @taylawestman4563
      @taylawestman4563 3 роки тому +5

      Basically he's just a bit wobbly on that reign due to lack of muscle, not because of an injury, he's just green and used to running in straight lines

      You definitely feel it when you ride, the horse usually runs faster to try to "catch up" and can feel like they will fall over to one side

    • @oscillatewildly666
      @oscillatewildly666 3 роки тому +3

      It's something a lot of young or inexperienced horses experience, especially OTTB horses because they're not used to circles. It's indeed a lack of muscle, if you've ever ridden an unbalanced horse, you'd know how weird it feels to sit on a horse that feels like he's running in order to not fall over ;))
