  • Friends, shooting an IDPA Match is a whole lot of fun and can make for a fantastic training opportunity. Matches can be found at IDPA.com or Pracitscore.com, which has lists of available matches in your area. Matches are between local Tier I Matches that have 15-50 shooters to National Tier IV Matches that have 300-400 participants. Rules for these matches can be found on IDPA Website. One of the main reasons I love IDPA is that it's not that different from the way I would carry a pistol in a concealed manner. So, when I shoot an IDPA Match, it makes for great practice, as you are placed in real world scenarios during the match. Shooting Matches is a great way to stay sharp and practice good fundamental marksmanship. I enjoy all different types of matches from USPSA Steel Challenge Matches to 3D Archery Matches to shooting a round of Sporting Clays or Trap...it is just fun to get out there and compete.

    Update:
The pictures at the end of the video were taken from the IDPA PA State Championship, I was on a great squad with my friend and Colt Pro Shooter Mark Redl (who won the CDP Master Division) James McNinty and David Olhasso both Pro Shooters for Ruger...our team was anchored by Jerry Greg the Match Director, who does a FANTASTIC job of hosting the match. I got lucky and won the ESP Marksman Division, which was a cool thing for this old competitor.
Be Safe, God Bless and Thanks for Watching!
