Paul at the Ranch
Приєднався 11 кві 2024
I'm Paul Spitale, and I've been the driving force behind Colt's Consumer Business since 2015, as their EVP of Sales and Marketing. Additionally, I spent 25 years with Sony Electronics as an SVP in Consumer Sales. I've recently retired and I'm excited to share outdoor and shooting skills I've learned throughout the years.
What most people didn't know about me, is that I've been hunting and fishing since I was a very young man. So, working for Colt for the last 9 years was an incredible honor and experience for and enthusiast like me. I'm also an IDPA Competitor, 3D Archer, NRA Range Safety Officer and NRA Instructor...and someone who loves spending time out in nature hunting and shooting. My shooting passions are seen in nearly all forms of shooting, from archery to black powder rifles. I have a strong faith that grounds me in what's most important, and a constant reminder of why we're here...to serve.
Be Safe, God Bless and Thanks for Watching!
Very best regards,
Paul

The Importance of a Climbing Harness #huntersafty #hssports #hunting
Friends if you're hunting in a tree or any elevated position make sure you're using a quality climbing harness. I personally like the harnesses from Hunter Safety Systems and have been using them for year, see link below. Enjoy hunting from a tree but do it safely.

SOD - The Shoot on Demand Drill
Переглядів 216День тому
Friends, this a fun drill...you can do it by yourself or with a partner. Do it with the ammunition you intend to use to defend yourself and your loved ones with. For me it's Federal 147gr. Hydro-Shock 9mm Bullets, they feed great in my 1911 Colt CCU and deliver plenty of energy on target. It's easy to set-up at 10 yards using a standard IDPA Target. Remember, no matter how much you practice or ...
Three Keys to Shooting a Handgun More Accurately #shootingdrills #handguntraining

Friend this is a shooting method that came to me from Wyatt Gibson, who's a Pro Shooter for Colt Firearms...and one of the best three-gun shooters in the world. Wyatt has a simple three step approach that has really helped my shooting, much more accurately. His mantra is: Prep - Sight - Press 1st - Prep the trigger, find that Wall 2nd - Hard Sight Focus on the Front Sight 3rd - Press the Shot -...

Reloading your Blaster
Переглядів 103Місяць тому
Friends reloading a handgun is an important skill to master. Whether you're doing an emergency, or a retention reload...it's critical that you can do these techniques when needed. Three key thoughts to focus in on when reloading your blaster: 1 - Make sure you're reloading in a good workspace - one that you can see the firearm and your target in your prereferral vision. 2 - Use gravity, make su...
25 in 20 - A 25 Yard Challenge in 20 seconds Using a Standard NRA B 8 Target
Переглядів 92Місяць тому
Friends, this drill is one that champion shooters, like the William's Sister and Special Forces Veteran's like Super Dave Harrington do regularly. I was introduced to this concept during a defense pistol class, I took with Super Dave...and boy did I learn a lot that day. One of the biggest take-a-ways for me was the need to spend more time shooting at longer distances vs. setting up on typical ...
Polishing Brass as part of the Reloading Process
Переглядів 243Місяць тому
Friends, this video features the Dillon Brass Cleaner Model CV-2001...friends I love this product. It's got the highest capacity of any of commercial ones I've used or seen. I can polish 150-200 cases of 9mm, which is amazing. I use the combination of Dillon's Corn-cob Media and their 290 Polish. I typically, polish my brass for at least 1 hour and never more than 3 hours typically. Polishing b...
Tame Recoil the Easy Way

Friends, today I'm sharing three keys to reduce the effects of recoil: 1st - Get a proper grip (see my related video on this area below) 2nd - Get a forward-facing athletic Stance, with weight of the balls of your feet 3rd - Use 20% more grip pressure, than you think you need Link to Paul's Keys to a Proper Grip - ua-cam.com/video/2fAXjlo3qtA/v-deo.html If you use these three principles, you're...

Matches can be found at IDPA.com or Pracitscore.com, which has lists of available matches in your area. Summer Carry Practice at the Ranch

Friends as my dad often said growing up, "son practice, practice and practice". If you're going to carry a firearm, make sure you're spending enough time at the range and dry fire, so that you are very comfortable and competent with your firearm. If you're going to carry appendix, make sure you have a holster made for appendix carry...see link below. Make sure you are very familiar with your eq...
Transition Drill from Concealment - Transitions

Friends this transition drill is a whole lot of fun and builds fantastic skills, for shooting multiple targets. Today's course of fire was step-up at 5, 7 and 10 yards respectively. Each of the four strings were done in a slightly different manner. String 1 - Right to Left (my performance today 5.61 on the 1st String, see other times below) String 2 - Left to Right (5.56) String 3 - Tactical Pr...
Considerations when Carrying Concealed

Hornady Black 250 Grain FTX, FYI I did a later video detailing three different loads...thanks for watching.
great job ! I will take it to the range.
Enjoy and have some fun, thanks for the feedback
Good information, and I love that you gave shooting distance.
Thanks, I'm trying to give as much info. as possible, without boring the audience.
Such great information! Thanks for sharing Paul 👍
Can thank you enough for watching, all the best!
Thanks brother, setting up the new Ranch in Michigan, best regards, my friend
I think the 180 grain bullets are most accurate also!
Nice to see you enjoying this recent weather my friend!
Why did you zoom to block what you’re doing?
Sorry just trying to show it more clearly, thanks for the feedback
A very informative and straightforward tutorial.
Thanks, as I always appreciate your feedback
Thanks for the feedback and insights
Great video Paul. Functionality is so important yet so is comfort. Especially in the long run. I also keep the spare mag in my front pocket but the neomag clip has been a game changer!
Really appreciate your support, carrying a firearm is extremely personal, so what makes sense for me may not always work for others...I'll look into the Neo-mag Clip, thanks for the feedback.
Excellent video my brother. As you know I am a 1911 man myself.
Brother loved your insights on the 1911 featured on RangeHot
Very Good UA-cam .........
Thanks for the support!
Can’t wait!!
Thanks Brother
Good stuff
Thanks Wheeze
Do you have the universal satern or the caliber specific?
I use the specific calibers, so I do have a number of these funnels, they last forever brother
@@Paulattheranch yeah I figured that, just checking first before I started buying them, guess I'll buy a couple every time I place an order. I have about every caliber in some form so I'm to poor to buy them all at once 😂. I've only been doing this for about 5 yrs, to save money. Turns out every dime I make goes right back into it, imagine that. I have a blast though.
@@pabloco091 I'd start with 30 caliber, because it covers a lot of loads.
What are the brand of that funnel?
Satern Funnels available on Midway USA Brother
Good info, thinking about trying those and give the nosler a break. That way I can satisfy my curiosity and form my own opinion on the Berger's
You won't regret it!
One thing I have always been poor at was carpentry. I appreciate the video my brother. I just updated all my power tools with the 20V Dewalt tools.
You would regret it brother...they're fantastic!
My uncle has hunted about everything with everything and he now only bow hunts.
Thanks, I love Archery Hunting, so give it a try sometime brother!
I have several tool boxes, one in my work truck, one in my car, and one in my house. Each box has similar items as well as different tools depending on where it is kept. Excellent video, my friend.
Fantastic insight, different boxes for different missions...I LOVE it. Thanks for sharing my friend, I'm enjoying the feedback. All the best brother!
Great stuff! Much appreciated for the sport!
You're the Best, thanks brother!
100% my brother. Have a great Independence Day!
Thanks, you to brother!
Another fantastic video and wonderful explanation‼️‼️
Thanks, brother, I fully appreciate your support!
Good info! Nice set up you have there Paul!
Thanks, I've had great coaches the William's Sisters have 29 National & World Titles and they really helped my shooting...thanks for the feedback.
Excellent points to remember
Thanks brother
All excellent advice, my friend.
Thanks brother...sure appreciate your support
👍👍 whatever it takes to get your mind into the game!!
Thanks for the feedback...fully agreed with "whatever it takes" brother
@@Paulattheranch I do all kinds of goofy tricks to keep it interesting. Like putting thin branches or yucca stalks to have to miss by inches to get the hit I want. Turning the 3-d animal a few degrees. And the one I don’t like most is shooting in just enough breeze to make me really work on my “ windy day shot execution “.
Impressive accuracy ‼️
Thanks I do shoot a lot…and enjoy training
Awesome video
Thanks brother, be Safe, God Bless and Thanks for Watching!
I thoroughly enjoy reloading myself. I find it quite cathartic while making the most of my ammo fund.
Nice video, simple and to the point. One thing, I've always been taught is to never use loctite on rings because the loctite can change the torque pressure because of the lubrication it provides. I use vibra-tite, it doesnt interfere with the torque #'s.
Thanks for the comment, I've personal used it for many, many years and I've never had an issue with it, Loctite...thanks for watching and feedback brother.
@Paulattheranch @Paulattheranch if it ain't broke don't fix it right! I like the channel. I subscribed and am digging your other videos.
@@onebadjack1313 Thanks brother
This looks fun
Thanks for the support!
I like the " port side up " tip as it DOES make a lot of safety sense. GOD BLESS you as well sir. Having JESUS is far more important than having ANY firearm..... I'll take both!
Agreed, John 3:16 is my favorite verse...thanks for watching
Nicely Done! Thanks Paul
Thanks so much!
Excellent video my friend.
Thanks brother, your support is so much appreciated...be well.
Thanks.
Anytime brother
Can you please talk to Colt and get them the fix the horrible action of their thumb safety on their 1911’s? A number of years now almost all Colt 1911’s I handle the thumb safety does not click on/off. They are extremely mushy. The most recent is the Limited Edition Government model.
Understood, most of my 1911's have Stan Chen Thumb Safeties, which I love...thank you for the feedback
Hunter for you my brother
Great day in the woods
It was fantastic
Love this I want my own set up one day forsure
It's not that hard, however, consult with Dillon Precision who are real experts in the field of reloading.
@@Paulattheranch thank you I plan to soon.
Are the primers already in the shells and if so does that cost extra?
The old primers are taken out in station one, and a new primer is put in during station two...and yes primers costs more. The expense is brass or cases, powder, bullet-heads and primers.
@@Paulattheranch you da man Paul, thank you! Wasn't sure if if the brass was pre-primed or not.
Nice
Thanks brother
Excellent presentation my brother.
Hunter YOU ARE THE BEST, thanks for your support brother!
Love it!! Great stuff cuz!
Thanks brother, I'm enjoying this process...can't wait for Fall.
You’re ridiculous at this! I remember trying the 10/10/10 with you and couldn’t get across the line!
