Great nostalgia for me too see so many people I know in this collection of clips. I had the privilege of absconding Wayne's band for a brief period when he wasn't touring. Met Wayne behind the Continental club one afternoon. He was funny and friendly. Later on that bassist and guitarist were in my band, and I played gigs with theirs. I did shows with his pedal steel player too, even worked on his house. Hell I even drank beers and sang songs with Joe Buck at his club in Nashville before he joined Hank III. He told stories about Hank Sr, and all the legends. It's been an interesting life. I hope Wayne never quits.
Good stuff, man. Dale Watson, Benjamin Tod, Junior Brown, Pokey LaFarge, and Scott H. Biram are some other contemporary country/western/folk/blues artists that I would consider to possess the punk spirit as well.
One thing not included in your tribute relates to why Wayne doesn't use a guitar pick. According to his (and my) former bass player Wayne tried to commit suicide by drinking antifreeze when he was just a kid. It caused nerve damage in his hands, so he learned to strum the guitar with bare fingers.

I see Wayne whenever he comes to Bend Oregon. If you show up a little early he will hang out and talk to you he’s super cool.
Hank 3 said that Wayne was more like Hank sr. than 3 was. Serious road warrior!!!! Absolutely love your channel, much appreciated!
