King George representing his subjects in wanting the money they're owed back was tyranny. The men who said we're all created equal holding slaves was liberty.
Terror laws are laws of the country they're set out in, so of course they are for the domestic population? You can't enforce UK anti-terror laws on someone in Syria, for example.
The only way you can be a 'nobody' in this context is never to ever have taken out credit, or a mortgage or opened any kind of 'store care' and a million other things you don't relate to the Internet because scummy outfits like Experian build empires on the collection and selling of financial information and have done for literally decades.

Please correct me if I am wrong. The EU/UK data protection laws give us the right to control how or where our data is shared. To do this we need tools that can help us. Many ads online contain tracking information that bypass cookie preferences so one tool to help us control that data going out is an ad blocker. So, wouldn't UA-cam and Google with their anti ad blocker policies be breaking EU/UK GDPR laws with such policies preventing us from controlling one part of our data being collected?
The video has a title designed to scare you Then its first few minutes plays up the scare Then, surprise, surprise, the sponsor of the video can help at a cost What a coincidence !
Most of this information was available in the phonebook in the past. This is just a grift. I'm blocking this channel, the latest videos are politically biased, IMO.
I still don't understand how this data is out there in the first place. The original stolen data was itself a data breach, this is far worse than the current reported theft. This means that our data has been sold routinely over the past years.
Lots of lessons for people to learn. Never give your details to anyone unless absolutely necessary. I'm talking about silly things like supermarket clubcards and such like, you are giving them your details, and by signing up, you are giving them permission to use your details for whatever reason. Details are a valuable commodity these days. A simple example of not giving my details the other week for me, needed a new freezer, went to a Currys. Paid cash, then the sales person asked for my address and email. Told him nicely NO. Why would you want them I enquired? Oh just for the database he replied. I said to him, would you tell me where you live etc? He said no, I said exactly, so why should I? Always be aware.

Yes its strange that but it has happened; governments in USA, Can and UK have contracted out work to a private company that has been breached. Same old same old. Macafee sent me a warning text.
Hey folks, let's take a deep breath about this NPD breach. The headlines are scary, but here's what you need to know: 1. It's NOT 3 billion people affected. That's just the number of data lines. The real number is about 292 million individuals. 2. A lot of the data is junk. Only 51% of the exposed SSNs have enough quality to pose any real risk. 3. The data is super old. Most people affected were born between 1950-1970. There's very little recent data. 4. Some birthdates in the breach are in the future! That shows how unreliable a lot of this data is. 5. Many records are for deceased individuals. So while it's still a big deal, it's not as bad as the headlines make it sound. Stay vigilant, but don't panic!
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD Most people don't realise that any system WILL be compromised, it's not a matter of if, but when. This is why putting so much data in one place is bonkers, it has always been, and always will be, a stupid idea. At no time should any of us have to sign up with the likes of incogni. This is the fault of commercial interests that use the internet. The internet was never intended to be used for commercial activity. If anyone should be paying to secure us it is the technology companies that have peddled hardware and software to enable these commercial interests. None of us agreed to have credit reference agencies. These national / international agencies should be made illegal.
ITs all well and good telling us to sign up for those credit agencies, but how are we meant to afford around £50 a month extra to pay for that, as well as something like incogni?
It's a scam, all logic is thrown out the window when you fall for it. You don't need any of that rubbish, would you buy the rubbish off the shopping channel as well?

I am reading comments and see I am not the only disappointed subscriber.. Daniel's a brilliant man who has achieved much in life.. so doing this promo video for a sponsor is shameful and like a kick in the teeth to his followers who will pay out hard-earned money (that many can't even afford) for this unnecessary service! 🤷🏻♀️ A big mistake..
I understand that this is a real issue, but, with respect, is this not borderline scare mongering to get people to subscribe to Incogni and in turn, to help fund your channel?
Sensationalised video in order to advertise the sponsor. Searches of this leaked database shows multiple duplicated lines of data for the same individuals details. Still a leak of millions of people (in multiple countries), but far from 3 billion.
Who triggered you? Why do we all feel more threatened, more scrutinised, more endangered! You are making this a thing!. We aught to charge people like you for giving us "the willies".
Isn’t this shutting the door after the horse has bolted? I mean, if your data is on a hackers list already, then getting your data removed from companies selling your data isn’t really going to help.
This video is nonsense. All you need is basic internet security. Be vigilant, don't visit dodgy sites, update Windows/Android/etc regularly, use 2 factor authentication, use a separate email account for banking, and use an adblocker.
Really surprised by this video, for sure we need to all make sure our data is secure but this came across as an advert for third party companies and i can't work out which is worse... those that stole/bought the data, or someone using it as a means to promote a company which claims to be able to stop it. Didn't think i'd ever see this from BBB, but here we are.
It's the "legitimate interest" that you've got to watch out for. It should be off by default but it often isn't and you have to go through and deselect every single one

This: "This website uses cookies that are necessary for our site to work properly and to give us information about your use of the website, as well as for marketing purposes. So I should sign up with a company that supposedly removes information gathered by cookies, but which itself gathers my information using cookies?
This is possibly the most irresponsible and selfish thing you have ever done. The "3 billion people" claim has been thoroughly debunked. The number also doesn't pass the most basic plausibility tests. This calls into question any trust that one might have on your ability to comment authoritatively on any such matters. Did I mention that this looks suspiciously like it is merely a sponsorship deal? You've made yourself look like you a naive, cheap, untrustworthy, grifting charlatan 🤦
I was so disappointed to see this scare-mongering title from BBB, to then profit from his sponsor. I see I am not the only one who feels badly let down.

Yes, it's a great pity he did this video.. I have always admired Daniel but once my faith is lost, it's lost for good.. I won't be watching his channels any more.. 🤦🏻♀️
Shouldn't this video be clearly labeled as sponsored content? Too many of the channels I've subscribed to for years are suddenly cashing in and pumping sales videos disguised as information. It's your own reputation you are destroying.
You didn't seem that fussed about privacy law when mentioning profiling in relation to cookies and similar technologies, as you at least implied you thought it was pointless.
So we've improved modern life by making things digital.... So if you want to steal 20,000 people's information.. you can carry it on a flash drive... and that's security? I though my stuff was more secure when to steal 20,000 people's files meant breaking into a facility and stealing 20,000 files from a bunch of shelves. Somehow.. that actually felt more secure.
Great advice. Trouble is the banks are still living in the 90's and all the ones I have for example don't use 2FA which is a SHAMEFUL lack of responsibility regarding the security of people's accounts.

The video has a title designed to scare you
Then its first few minutes plays up the scare
Then, surprise, surprise, the sponsor of the video can help at a cost
What a coincidence !
Funny that, eh. "Here's a sponsor to solve your problems!" Lol.
You didn’t know????? Really???
All those apps do that years on end!!!
@@ikvangalen6101 Postal information has been out there as long as I've been around. Telephone numbers have been out there forever, too. I don't care about phonebook/yellow pages info. Email information is newer but still a non issue. Social Security info is stolen info and not given out to loyalty cards.
FB foi condenado 2 vezes por vender informação dos clientes. Isto tem vindo acontecendo há anos mas as pessoas continuam a pôr todo o tipo de informação nas plataformas.
Asian call centres used by Brittish companies to save money don't help.
Just an advert for one of his sponsors...
I am I the only one who wonders why this hasn’t been on the news? Sorry but someone trying to scare me into buying a security protection even at a discount who obviously has a vested interest in I smell a scam!
MSM is corrupt.
I saw it in online news in Oz the other day
@@myzenlifeinnature fair enough but certainly not a big story! Maybe it should be?
Yes its strange that but it has happened; governments in USA, Can and UK have contracted out work to a private company that has been breached. Same old same old. Macafee sent me a warning text.
This sounds like nothing more than a sales pitch to me?
Hey folks, let's take a deep breath about this NPD breach. The headlines are scary, but here's what you need to know:
_"Many records are for deceased individuals."_
Sounds like the Democrats were careless with their registered voter database...
It's what it represents though. It happened once, it will happen again.
I just think I have listened to an advert for Incogni
@@RomanHistoryFan476AD Most people don't realise that any system WILL be compromised, it's not a matter of if, but when.
This is why putting so much data in one place is bonkers, it has always been, and always will be, a stupid idea.
Speaking of stupid ideas, I'm sure the Government will do exactly that, sell it to people as a great thing, then lose everyone's data.
I'd take this seriously if you didn't appear to be selling a product related to it.
Why should I have to ask anyone to delete information I never consented to them having? Why should I even have to ASK?
So basically a 7:54 ad for Incogni
Precisely why we should never give in to Digital ID's and Digital Currency. Protect your privacy where ever possible and keep cash alive
Start with the big banks.
Why do lawyers get buried 12 feet under instead of 6?
Deep down they are actually good people.
😂😂😂
😂
Lost me when u tried to take advantage of the situation and sell me a "fix". Some people dont have the money
The fix is ignoring this prick who's trying to manipulate people with misinformation.
My mother was hounded by oxfam etc till eventually she had to go into a nursing home, as she has dementia, she sent thousands to big charities who were relentless
IME big charities are very often toxic and not worth contributing to.
My Father had this with Cancer Research.
Most charities are scams.
My son when he was in Uni by MacMillan his aunty died of cancer he gave a small amount each month and they constantly harassed him for more., disgusting behaviour, I told him to stop paying anything.
Oxfam, UNICEF, Red Cross Clinton Foundation, etc, money laundering operations.
Daniel this is not doing you justice mate , pure click bait sales gimmick
Totally agree, hes being very ambiguous
I am reading comments and see I am not the only disappointed subscriber.. Daniel's a brilliant man who has achieved much in life.. so doing this promo video for a sponsor is shameful and like a kick in the teeth to his followers who will pay out hard-earned money (that many can't even afford) for this unnecessary service! 🤷🏻♀️ A big mistake..
I understand that this is a real issue, but, with respect, is this not borderline scare mongering to get people to subscribe to Incogni and in turn, to help fund your channel?
oh absolutely
How slimey would you have to be to attempt to profit from this. This is becoming one of the most disgusting sites out there
At £24.95 a month for TransUnion, £14.95 a month for Equifax and £14.99 a month for Experion I'd rather just let the criminals take my money.
Makes you wonder who benefits most from this leak doesn't it?
@@dunderhay9169
Yes, makes me think TransUnion, Equifax etc. are responsible for it.
They are the "criminals" at those prices..
No one needs any of these.
Especially considering many banks offer the credit, check services for free!
Sensationalised video in order to advertise the sponsor. Searches of this leaked database shows multiple duplicated lines of data for the same individuals details. Still a leak of millions of people (in multiple countries), but far from 3 billion.
What's stopping incogni having a data breach...nothing absolutely nothing!
Oh man, a seven minute advert
Who triggered you? Why do we all feel more threatened, more scrutinised, more endangered! You are making this a thing!. We aught to charge people like you for giving us "the willies".
This sounded like one big advert
actually I found this distasteful, and I dont believe entirely honest its a sales scaremongering tactic and in poor taste.
You had me going there for a minute until I hear the advert.
Isn’t this shutting the door after the horse has bolted?
I mean, if your data is on a hackers list already, then getting your data removed from companies selling your data isn’t really going to help.
I could see the Incogni ad from a mile off
Not going along with this at all. Its a fear thing. How does anyone deal with all this information.
We are not protected at all. It's a charade. Not stolen, sold.
Why are the public not being compensated for this !? This is horrific and the government should be protecting and compensating their residents.
I want compensation, 3 million to start.
Which government where?
@@lizroberts1569 All governments involved. Edward Snowden blew the whistle.
The governments are the biggest gatherers and sellers of your data!
They should never be trusted!
As a disabled person, £57 is out of the question and if I pay £5 a month I don't have the internet anymore (or I skip meals). Guess I'm screwed then.
This video is nonsense. All you need is basic internet security. Be vigilant, don't visit dodgy sites, update Windows/Android/etc regularly, use 2 factor authentication, use a separate email account for banking, and use an adblocker.
@@eskimo4130 I was wondering this. Thought it might be worrying until the plug for the video sponsor.
A sales pitch? 😮💨
7:54 minute advertisement.
POS 1 BIG ADVERT !!!!!!!
Infomercial? I thought that was just an American thing.
I reject all cookies these days however I'm still not confident that it stops all information from being collected!
I wonder whether rejecting cookies merely opens the door to something more clandestine.
You're best off grabbing things like adblocking and tracker obfuscating addons rather than saying "please don't take all my stuff :("
It's the "legitimate interest" that you've got to watch out for. It should be off by default but it often isn't and you have to go through and deselect every single one
I clicked the link given, and what did I find? This:
"This website uses cookies that are necessary for our site to work properly and to give us information about your use of the website, as well as for marketing purposes. By accepting, you agree to the use of cookies as described in our Privacy Policy".
So I should sign up with a company that supposedly removes information gathered by cookies, but which itself gathers my information using cookies?
I thought you were launching into an incogni add from the start lol.
Cash is King!
I always said the day they introduced data protection was the day we lost it
Ico are hopeless they always side with organisations who breach your data
So this is just sales patter.
I see I am not the only one who feels badly let down.
yet another sales pitch ,
I have enjoyed this channel but now feel so disappointed with the scare-mongering title of this video and then promoting your "partner" - *(SPONSOR!!)* I am lost for words to be honest. 😒 Data breaches have been a problem for a long time but this is a sales pitch which many will buy into
Let's hope Incogni doesn't get hacked.
OH It's an advert
The channel is all looking very commercial these days.
This video is just an advert.
Nothing more, nothing less.
‘Hey let’s talk about a data breach and it just so happens, here is my sponsor’.
This is why I don't do online banking.
No option they shut all the banks near me 😢
Ok boomer
@@Hermantrueman Same here.
Same here.
Your doing internet banking because when I go to my bank and they check my accounts, I noticed they use the exact same system as the website when I had a interview.
It’s not even on the news cycle here in the U.S. we are so use to not having privacy no one blinks an eye. Plus those of us the worked for the GOV had all our information leaked by OPM years ago
The US spying on its citizens dates all the way back to George Washington rooting out loyalist sympathies within the State. It really is nothing new to you guys.
I don’t know why but I can’t stop laughing at your post. 🥰
Data Brokers should be illegal.
Thank you for being a reliable source of information online....a rare thing nowadays.
This video is just an ad for Incogni.
@susanalderson8267 no, it's not. It's mainly about data breaches.
@lizzy198 if you can't afford it, don't get it.
@lizzy198 I used the word "mainly". You used the word "just" 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
@lizzy198 help me? 😂😂😂 I'm certainly not asleep but also I don't go round telling people what to do either.
I understand, and agree, but emotionally feel i just watched a very long advert..
Basically it's a paid advert.
Edit: context;
Just to add, In my opinion BBB deserves to be paid for the info he gives on every other video. Just this one doesn't give much info. Still a great Chanel though
The BAR and Admiralty/Maritime Law is corrupt.
There's been a data breach, let me make a shit load of money off UA-cam, and double whammy it with a relevant sponsor
Thanks for the new rims for my Aston
Good night
It happened to me! I was informed in May this year (2024), but it happened a YEAR ago. So much of my personal information is on the dark web now, & it’s scary. I’m the constant target of dodgy mobile texts, scammers & phishing etc. The worst part is I can do nothing about it. It has also happened to my daughter - TWICE! We are in Australia. And the government is about to introduce Digital ID. I do NOT trust that any of my personal info will be safe. Nobody can guarantee it will be safe. I’m really angry about it. 😡🇬🇧🇦🇺
Got my ID scammed the first month I was in Australia. More scams here than anywhere I'm sure. It's relentless. Made worse still by your ID being reqd everywhere. I am now saying that recruiters can view my ID in my hand but it's not going online or photocopied by them interviews. Had enough. We need to start pushing back.
Assume your ID is already out there (it is!) and act accordingly. Worry daily that my miniscule super fund will be taken. As it has already for many
The trouble is, no one reads any of the terms. Most likely, you can reject them, or to install cookies. Check the address of emails you receive.
Here we go with the promotional chat 😂
Shame on you BBB using your channel to advertise your 'wares' No doubt you get a handsome kickback for company promotion.
Hi BBB, THIS IS INCREDIBLY ALARMING, I WILL BE PURSUING SECURITY TO ASSIST, THANKYOU FOR BRINGING THIS EPISODE TO ATTENTION TO THE WORLD, PRIVACY IS A RIGHT IN ITSELF, THANKS AGAIN, PEACE, LOVE AND RESPECT, J 😮😊😊
Can I legally give my British citizenship and does anyone know if the government can force you to billet migrants
Do you live in the UK? privacy is a myth, just like our rights that are dwindling for the gain of politicians and there business partners..
Not a glowing endorsement of the future digital ID, security, access
3 billion records not 3 billion people, some people occur many times from different sources.
Signing up for a data deletion service will not remove personal data from hackers who already have it unfortunately.
ingogni removes your data... but then acquires it on sign up and can sell it again if they want.
So this video is just an advert good job and you sounnd like you are scaremongering??
I see this video as a blatant advertisement for his "channel sponsor" by trying to scare the audience.
Yes, it's a great pity he did this video.. I have always admired Daniel but once my faith is lost, it's lost for good.. I won't be watching his channels any more.. 🤦🏻♀️
@pimpoi've just unsubscribed zza
Oh I just assume its out there somewhere already, I just stay as much of a non-entity on the net as I can.
Great advice. Trouble is the banks are still living in the 90's and all the ones I have for example don't use 2FA which is a SHAMEFUL lack of responsibility regarding the security of people's accounts.
There are many free tools to check if you arre affected by data breaches.
Can you name any ? I would like to know this
