The former head Of HBOS/LLoyds Banking Group. says she was never an economist. She was complaints support manager. She also was forced to resign, when it was found that, instead of multiple doctor/dentist appointments. She was actually working as a Labor activist at her local council. She has lied on her C.V. and has gained her current job , by using that lie.She should be sacked.

      The reality:
'Reeves, who served in several junior roles at the Bank of England before moving to the Bank of Scotland in 2006, has long made a point of highlighting her supposed economic credentials. Her official biography, often shared at speaking engagements, proudly states that she “worked as an economist at the Bank of England, the British Embassy in Washington DC, and latterly at Halifax Bank of Scotland.”
However, Guido’s investigation has raised serious doubts about the accuracy of these claims, particularly regarding her time at HBOS'.
Speaking to former colleagues from her Bank of England days, Guido discovered Reeves was not remembered fondly in some circles. One colleague went as far as to describe her reputation as “f***ing useless.”
But it’s her time at HBOS that has sparked the most scrutiny. Reeves claims to have worked as an “economist” at the bank during the financial crisis, often referencing her supposed expertise when discussing how the economic downturn affected people on low incomes.
Yet, according to multiple former colleagues, Reeves’ role at HBOS was far from that of an economist. Guido’s investigation uncovered that she worked in a modest support department, dealing with administrative tasks, IT matters, and small projects within the bank’s Complaints team. This was a small unit with just three people, entirely detached from the Economics Department that Reeves appears to suggest she was part of.
Her LinkedIn profile further adds fuel to the fire, falsely stating she was employed as an “economist” during her time at HBOS, a claim former colleagues vehemently deny. In reality, Reeves held a mid-level role far removed from the senior economic analysis she has portrayed in public.
The revelation that Reeves, often praised for her “economist brain,” was in fact working in a support role, rather than as a bona fide economist, could have significant repercussions. The credibility of a Chancellor rests on their expertise, and this exposé leaves serious doubts over whether Reeves’ claims match the reality of her experience'.

Like most economists. But you have to put your trust in someone who sounds like they know what they're doing, like John Maynard Keynes, Milton Friedman, or God help us, Karl Marx. Then all you need is an accountant and staff to put it into effect. Kwasi Karteng has a PhD in political history, so he's not an economist. But being a historian it's very surprising that he apparently chose to follow a disgraced economic policy that brought about the so-called "Barber Boom" from the early '70s, which led poor Jim Callahan and Old Bushy Brows to eventually have to go to the IMF when the economy blew up. I trust economists about as much as lawyers. Sorry BBB, present company accepted.

100% spot on with the essence of what you're saying here; your conclusion is absolutely correct. However, I should mention that there is a technical error in the economist's formula at the top. It should read:
    "Cost of employee = $X = salary + NI (employer) + benefits"
You see, NI (employee) is *not* a cost to the business, but is a cost to the employee. What actually happens when salary is paid is as follows. The "salary" is paid out of the employer's bank account and the NI (employee) portion of that "salary" (along with income tax portion of it) is paid over to HMRC. I have 45 years experience of working in accounts, a significant portion of which was in sole roles, and I guarantee that any accountant that you ask will confirm this. For example, say that the employee's gross salary was £100 + £3 benefits. A typical payroll journal would look like this (the deductions are my estimates for illustration purposes only):
    £ £
Cr Employee liability 73 (To be paid to the employee as their net pay)
Cr HMRC (EEs NI) 10 (To be paid to HMRC)
Cr HMRC (EEs tax) 20 (To be paid to HMRC)
Cr HMRC (Ers NI) 12 (To be paid to HMRC)
Dr Payroll cost 115 (This is the total cost, to the business, of the employee: Salary (£100) + NI (employer) (£12) + Benefits (£3).
    --------- --------
    £115 £115
    --------- --------
Someone might argue "Oh, but in the economist's formula, "salary" means salary *net* of deductions and in *that* case, the economist's formula is right to include NI (employee)." That is correct. However, if you interpret "salary" in this way, the economist's formula is wrong in another way: the formula should *also* include '+ Income tax' - which it doesn't. So, however you interpret "salary" (net or gross of deductions), the formula is erroneous: by omission or commission.
Sorry to be picky. I love your videos. Thank you for making them. :-)

Typically a department manager is charged with managing the total gross cost of all their employees and most likely held to meet future employee costs in line with inflation. This will mean that savings will have to be found across the total people costs to keep in line with the base plus inflation. In my experience this is found through headcount savings - hitting the employees … other options include reducing bonuses and pay awards …. It's a sad indictment that with such low support, a Government can gain a majority and act against the wishes and will of the majority.
Granted, that is our system. But the last election was a special case in that Labour didn't win the hearts and minds of the people. They picked up what the Tories lost without gaining even one quarter of national support.
They should be trying to win people back to their side. Instead they are carrying out a tyranny to try and erase what the people have come to know and replace it with their vision of Britain.
Corbyn may have made Labour unelectable... But under Starmer they remained unelectable, and only got in because of the rules of the electoral system.

Redundancies would mean more unemployed humans resulting in more government spending to keep them alive, or the government would ensure the redundant humans expire quickly thus reducing the population, which in turn reduces the spending on the market, which leads to more redundancies and so on until a new equilibrium point is reached.
All that is because the government prefers to save businesses instead of humans. Also, removing the redundant humans from the population will remove unhappy voters for the benefit of the government. It all fits perfectly.

Employers have an allocated annual budget for each employee to work with. Come annual pay review, what do you think employers will do?
    1. Pay the increased Employers NI and increase wages by inflation? Go to finance office ask for more budget, unlikely to be approved.
    2. Pay the increased Employers NI and subtract 2% from planned increase of annual review, to compensate NI increases. Books are balanced.
    3. Reduce human resource by a % that makes financial sense to compensate for the increased Employers NI and pay retained employees the planned increase . Balancing the books to work with allocated budget.
Given my experience in Leadership Roles and knowing full well how business finance works, I would bet for Option 2 or 3. Or both in some cases. In both cases “the working people” would pay the price.

My husband works an average of 70 plus hours per week only taking time off when he is ill or perhaps forced to by family events and by that I mean an afternoon or an hour or two here and there. Since Brexit as we import goods and export repairs to manufacturers we have struggled with ever increasing costs from every angle so year on year our profit margins have dwindled . The most recent being the increase in employer NI contributions which for us amounts to the equivalent of another full time wage. It seems that the consecutive Governments of the UK for at least the last 10 years have no idea what it takes to ensure small to middling size businesses survive. I’m sure you would find the same story if you enquired with most small to medium size businesses .

Education: Attended New College, Oxford, where she earned a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). She later earned a master's degree in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE). '
    More worrying...
Bridget Phillipson doesn't have direct professional experience in the education sector or formal qualifications specific to education.
Angela Rayner. Education. Non, apart from NVQ in care. Union worker.

Never ( 8 billion of it has gone on junior doctors and train drivers .... But they've spent 68 billion more in three months +
How are they going to get that from pensioners by upping the council taxes until the retired lose their homes as they can't afford the taxes.
But we let these Romas, Afghans, Bangladeshis, Vietnamese, Somalians, etc in selling Big Issue so that allows them to claim housing benefits and as there are technically self employed get all benefits. They grab your arm "I'm 'omeless, "I'm 'omeless" when I know the have three properties, and go round the banks and supermarkets touting their trade I tried answering back once but the grinning showing all their gold teeth ! They gave gave me a mouthful of vitriol.
They send money back to Roumania. The country has become a dustbin. Then he wraps up his blanket and folds his chair and I then followed him to a black Range Rover to pick up all the others a sort of pimp to a big issue ring.
It's so bad I was in Customs for twenty years and we know of his properties he goes to Rounania three times yearly to take the money. They are truly alien.to our way of life. Stealing is nothing to them. My fear is that it will taint our youth. Peace out 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
