I work in sheet metal. I’m a shop guy, and literally on my feet all day. Currently dealing with a ganglion cyst on my right big toe. Started looking into maybe my socks being an issue. Hopefully some of these help with that. Good video.
My best work socks are the Darn Tough steely socks, very soft and comfortable, not too bulky and feet don't stink. I enjoy wearing this socks better than all the others in my collection.
Hands down Carolina Ultimate Men’s Crew socks. Made with ultra-spun polyester, nylon, acrylic and RUBBER. They are the only sock that does not get holes in them. I’ve been wearing these socks for a year now and still not one hole. The only problem is they come in large or extra large and they are over the calf, so if you have a small foot these are not for you. I wear Ariat Workhog XT’s while I work at recycling yard and at first it was hard to get my feet into the boot but a small price to pay to have socks that don’t wear a hole in them in three months. I’m a heavy equipment operator now but I had to find something that worked when I was the yard man. Every sock I tried just kept getting hole after hole. Finally I tried the Carolina Ultimate with the rubber in them and voila! No holes. They don’t even remotely show signs of getting holes. The only other sock that has rubber in them is Timberland PRO steel toe work socks. I will try them and let you know!
I use Costco white socks for work but started looking into work socks with better moisture wicking properties. I’m a truck driver and deliver food produce. 13-19 stops over night for 14 hrs. Started wanting something better than just cotton. The fox river seems pretty up my ally. Need to try them. Thanks bro.
@@diegoperez8425 if you get a hole or whatever, you can send it in and they'll evaluate and give you credits. I just recently sent in a pair with a snag at the toe and they gave me a code for credits for a new pair plus free shipping.
Hi Bill, Another good video. I like to learn about other brands of items without buying them. The Fox River sound like a good sock and I am going to buy a few pair for winter. I am truck driver and our warehouse is pretty damn cold in the winter. Being a I live in MN and work in WI, winter are always cold..

Hi Bill. I'm a steelworker and I work on a furnace. I have to wear steel toe metatarsal work boots. I'm looking for socks with cushion but that also aren't going to make my feet hotter than they already get. Would you recommend the Fox River lightweight or the Carhartt? Or are there other socks you'd recommend? Great video by the way.
Hey Bill, spot on with the recommendation. I now own 8 pairs of the Fox River steel toe lightweight crew socks and what a game changer. I reviewed them on the Fox River website and gave your UA-cam channel a shout out. Mad props! 💪🏽 💪🏽 💪🏽
So glad I could be helpful. I really appreciate the shout-out, but even more grateful to know that someone out there is getting a real benefit from the right products! Cheers brother!
(I'm not a firefighter) if I'm correct I think firefighters need 100% wool clothing to stay protected from the heat as the usual poly t-shirt or average pair of socks would actually melt to the skin. ( I'm speaking from a standpoint of hearing this from Wranglerstar here on YT when he used to fight wild fires in Washington state). Are there any good pairs of 100% wool socks that don't get crazy hot and cause sweat?
i just got steel toe boots and i was wearing Hanes cotton socks and the left foot was fine but the right small toe was rubbing against something in the sock it felt like a piece of yarn stitching it was painful also my boots felt like they had sand in them or dirt but there wasn't any sand or dirt. i normally wear Dickies from Walmart but they are a bit thick so i was looking for a thinner pair now since it is summer. anyway i need to find a pair that will work with the steel toe boots those don't.
Great info. I wear thorogood 8" inch steal toe in Tezas working 10-12 boots go at 3.45 am come off at 5p🎉m . Been wearing redwing morinos ..think I will try the fox River thanks . Local.100 plumbers pipe fitters
im looking to invest in good socks for my partner. I’ve noticed he bought himself the Wolverine Waterproof boots for school because he welds, I’d like to know which sock you’d recommend?
Anybody have any recommendations for combat boots? Looking for something that cushions the top of my foot as that gets crammed up against the top of my BELLEVILLE 550ST boots
Any idea if someone makes a workbook/construction type toe sock? The kind with individual toes like a glove for your feet. I’ve found a few but most are really thin and poorly made. Toe socks are great for me because they eliminate me getting blisters from my sweaty toes rubbing together inside the boots. Seriously they’re been a godsend but I have to wear 2 or 3 pairs of socks because they’re so thin. Any ideas?
The answer is toe socks. The answer is 1000% toe socks. I prefer Injinji original weight boot length for colder, and ultralight padded crew or ankle for hot
William, I’m gonna give you an elbow to the ribs. You sound and speak a whole lot like Blurr, the Transformer. This video is not as bad as most of them. Socks. I wear 6-inch boots 75% of the [time], 8-inch boots 20%, and loggers 5% of the time. I am engineer, so I point at things all day when I am on a job site. Thanks, for the advice on over-the-calf socks. I usually wear Dickies work socks with 6 and 8 inch boots. I wear Nike athletic socks, too. They are tall enough for the loggers, and come in left and right foot versions.

Yeah darn tough is great. I haven't worn mine too much because it's so hot, but it's getting to be the season!
It's amazing how good quality socks make you feel at the end of the day. Take care of your feet.
My best pair, hands down, which I've had for over 8 years, is Darn Tough Tactical, not the over the calf. Still as elastic and comfortable as new.
yeah, I love those too
Great! I've never really considered what socks to wear with boots.

How where they?
Don't forget that Darn Tough socks have a lifetime warranty.
What does that mean?? I can return them and get new ones for free??

Wool wool wool- very expensive- my pairs of Gildan platinums have lasted on average 5-7 years - no joke- tough to find now
I do pest control for a living in North Carolina always outside sweating my butt off which ones would you recommend?!

I too went with the Darn Tough for that "lifetime" guarantee. I like the full cushion work sock in my boots.

Fix river all the way. They're legit. Carhartt is hot or miss because their production is so spotty.

What do you recommend for compression over the calf boot socks

Camel City Mill Lightweight is where it’s at
Great topic. Well done. Cool guys do not underestimate the importance of good socks, e.g., for tennis.
Brooklyn work socks are the best hands down they're the closest to the old Head socks sold at Costco decade's age
Anybody have any recommendations for combat boots? Looking for something that cushions the top of my foot as that gets crammed up against the top of my BELLEVILLE 550ST boots
What socks do you recommend with Thursday Captain type boots?
I’d recommend saving your money and buying a quality pair of boots
@@whereRbearsTeeth luckily for me . I don’t need to save up any money. So , what boots should I be buying ?
Merino wool not sweatwicking? Lol. Merino can hold 30% of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet. It dries extremely fast as well.
It also repels water which is why it marks great outer wear. Unlike cotton which absorbs (wicks) water and makes terrible outer wear.

Bigger toe box you mong
The first and last one looks nice
The bottom part of my pinky toe is kinda painful and felt numb sometimes, i knew it is because of my safety shoes + cheap socks.
Truck driver #5 hands down
Is that Hermann A Mes Cotes Me Paraissait Une Ombre by Etat Libre d'Orange on the top shelf behind you? 🤔

I have several pairs of the Carhartt Force socks. They’re very comfy, but not durable at all. Heel has worn out after only a year of wear.
Do steel toe socks help with comfort
They definitely do, especially in the cold
@@BootSpy thanks for the info I’m new to safety boot life
Fox river gives me prison break vibes
Carharrt force sucks. Don't spend your money on them carharrt has sent quality out the door when it comes to socks
I agree, those force socks suck my feet feel like a sauna when I wear them
Carhartt is seriously terrible these days. The heaviest weight they have are still thin and pills very easily. A $10 real tree sock is better
Ca Lightweight
Where can I find these socks?
online
actually the more wool/less synthetics the less durable. Their work sock outlast their tactical socks.
Ig socks do matter when using work boots, messed up my feet wearing regular socks 🤦♂️
