Hi Izabela, your pots look amazing and I fell in love with the dragon pot! 🐉 If only I were living in that part of the world I’d love to take some lessons!
@@BlueJayBonsai we may meet in person one day! I appreciate the gesture but I already have all the trees I can handle (barely!) and at this point don't wish to add any more
The Dragon pot at the start is beautiful. Isabela is really talented. For now as fun and as simple as Izabela makes it look, I think I will have to leave this to the true artisans of pottery.
I think the jade is crassula ovata 'crosby's compact' gets beautifully red when outside :) A particularly old specimen with aged bark. I'll need to get Nigel's opinion next time he is over. I lost half of a crucial trunk in the design which may force me to cut everything else back hard. Plus side - more cuttings for everyone :)
Thank you Connor, after Nigel's visit I cut them hard- no risk no bonsai! Now we'll see. Good luck with yours and thanks again, I'll keep you posted when they develop into something cool. Such beautiful species of jade.
Hey Nigel, I wanted to ask if there are any updates on that public garden thingy (sorry I forgot the name) you helped a lot with in the past? I'd love to see an update on those trees and the area in general :)
Hello Jan, I am not involved in the project much anymore, not because I don't want to, but more of frustration. Other parties involved in the project are making progress slow, difficult and not to plan. There have been few if any volunteer days. Progress in the last few years on the edible forest, the orchard and the first nations garden have been very slow and barely noticeable. At this rate our ten year plan will take 50 years! I hated walking away, but it just made my blood boil every time very little was done on the overall site other than the shared garden project.
@@TheBonsaiZone I actually been wondering about it too but thought maybe you had too many projects going lol. Too sad that all good intentions got "stranded" or slowed down on that community orchard.
10:53 haha. I'm not sure if Izabela has kids or perhaps she is just a bit more gangsta than she appears, but that is a 2pac poster behind that pot. Haha. Love it
