I have these right now in Memphis Tennessee!, they were eating my suet and mealworms along with my bluebirds! I have lots of the American Goldfinches and at first I thought this was a juvenile finch, but it had too much brown. When they fly you can see the flashes of yellow and they are feisty little birds! I’m enjoying them while they are here. I have a small pond and stream and they are also bathing in the stream.
Saw one fly in and land in birdbath a day ago............had to lookup.....first time seeing a bird with a yellow splash on its back........... unusual and beautiful..
We have a ton of these here in Eastern Long Island NY, on the marsh. First I've seen them after living here for 15 years. Friendly, curious, spontaneous little guys. They like my little fountain on my deck. They are extremely friendly with the other breeds that come to splash and drink: starlings, mourning doves and the finches. They have been pinching off pieces of dryer lint and dog hair that I leave outside for nesting . Yay!
I have video of this bird fluttering around my window for 3 days straight. what do u think this means. he continuously does it for hours.....I have a video of this spectacular bird in action. What a blessing

Saw my 1st yellow-rumped warbler this year in my Sweet Gum tree (outside of Louisville Ky 4/18/24).

I saw one of these for the first time yesterday in my Alabama backyard. They are lovely little birds. Beautiful video!
