Peter is the greatest gift to us subscribers from this channel. Thanks Alex and Peter. Looking forward to new videos every day. This channel and M539 Restorations are the only 2 channels worth watching from start to finish. The content and quality is superb.
As the owner of five SVT Lightnings, two new and three cherry used, it's strange and nice to see them enter the restoration phase of their lives. Nice work keeping a legend respectable...
Thank you for adding Peter....Ive been watching your videos for a long time and am glad you found Peter to help...his personality and character is a welcomed addition to your awesome videos!!!!
Best car rebuild channel on UA-cam in my opinion. I love how thorough you are with your rebuilds, and how you include almost every nut and bolt install in your videos. Lifetime subscriber here.

Hi. I watch you in Poland. I am delighted with what you are doing. I really enjoy watching your work. I have a 1995 Ford Explorer myself, and a few things to do. But I don't have skills like you. Thank you very much for the good job you are doing. I keep my fingers crossed for the success of subsequent projects.
I love that you guys actually film yourselves doing the work, and offer useful tips for DIYers, it's not just "here's what I / shop XXXX did off camera" like most channels Part of the reason I don't watch much Tavarish anymore other than CarTrek. The "work" is done by others, and on other channels. All Freddy's wrenching seems to be done off camera or is so complex that no unsponsored shade tree mechanic could get the expensive machinery required. Keep up the great content!
If you built something for that purpose but the computer is in the cab and you don't have anywhere to bolt a seat and steering might be tough to come up with
Hint: use soapy water on hoses instead of any spray because there may be stuff in the spray that can hurt the hose. That's what we did on the assembly line.
8:26 This is my favorite part of this video, so far. When you get it all put back together, and it runs perfectly, you will cherish every moment of this. I mean, it is a Ford F-150 LIGHTNING after all.
I run a side mount front plate that mounts in the tow hook hole. That way I can take it out and pop the tow hook hole cover in. No holes in the bumper skin. Another great video!!
Please please take my advice. I did a lightning swap on my 2001 supercrew and changed over to dual fuel pumps. The assembly came from a salvage yard that had taken it out of the truck and put on a shelf. After a couple of months of driving the socks came apart got through the filter and clogged all 8 injectors. After allbyour hard work please replace the socks and be done with it. Hope I'm not to late
A lot of that exhaust looks like what I got for my suburban and mine had real bad hardware I was thinking the bolts looked cheap I'd get some good quality bolts or studs to replace them with
Hi I'm a retired mechanic from England. I was wondering why you don't use grease on the nuts and bolts when you assemble things I have found it to be good practice when you need to take things apart again. I would also recommend cutting off excess threads off bolts especially on exhaust systems they are a pain when they rust up. Enjoy your videos.
At 17:35 mark of the previous video, you removed a plate that goes between the engine and the transmission. I did not see this reinstalled in this video! Did I miss something? Perhaps that plate is not needed? I hope that I’m worried about nothing.
If you want something to easily cut vacuum hoses and soft fuel line nice and straight, then use a PVC cutting tool. You can find them in a few places in Lowes/Home Depot. They are Definitely in both the plumbing section and the electrical section. You can probably find them in the hand tool section as well, if you find that easier. The hand tools are usually right at the front of the store. Good luck with rebuilding the Lightning! Can't wait to see it all put back together and cleaned up!
Suggestion, the exhaust clamp bolts should be pointing down so you can get to them easier when the cab and bed are back on the frame. Leaving them up now will cause headaches later. Yeah, I know you probably know this but there's a lot to do and you can't catch everything when you're busy. Thank goodness for the arm chair quarterbacks. Now I have to go troubleshoot an IWE. I don't think your lightening has that....
Great Video, suggestion for use with the Walbro Pumps instead of the Walbro Socks (providing the Fuel Tank offers enough room for them?) is to add a pair of Holley Hydramat Fuel Reservoir / Pre-Filters (3" x 15" PN 16-111) which will offer 15 Micron of Pre-Pump Filtration as well as prevent Fuel Starvation (running Lean) at less than a quarter tank of fuel. I've been running one of these in my PWC for a while now with amazing success. Randy AKA randog311
How cool it must be to have found Peter...some people are SUCH a pain to work around but he really knows how to keep it light and fun and get things done...hang on to that guy!
Glad to see someone's Lightning is getting back together my 2000 Lightning has been out of service since December 🥲. What I thought it was just a head gasket turned out to be one of my valves in my head to be broken. Piston seems to be fine, but I definitely need one new head. I don't know if a regular 5.4L V8 head off the junk yard would work on the Lightning and I've just been stuck. About to be a full year without my Lightning 🥲
The videos lately have reached a new level of fun to watch. Peter just compliments Alex perfectly! And the project they've been working on, wow, I'm sure Alex will feel so proud of that build especially once the built engine is in it :)

If you've never been there you will love the Gilmore. I have been there 8 or 9 times over the past 15 years. Mostly to attend their annual vintage motorcycle weekend, but also just to visit. It used to be primarily focused on pre-war autos, but today it has a great building with lots of 60's and 70' muscle cars and even a small building for motorcycles. It is super ironic that you will be there next weekend. When you were at the show here in Chicago last month I missed it because I was at our camper that spent the summer at a campground in Michigan about 40 minutes from the Gilmore. Now I won't get to meet you and say hello because the camper came home a couple weeks ago so I will be here in Chicago and won't be able to make the day trip up for the show. My bet is that the new manifolds will leak pretty soon. Notch the gasket and use bolts that don't look like they are for manifolds to be made as head bolts. If so, they are too soft and don't like heat cycling.

I removed all the evap system from my 02 lightning, including the charcoal canister and evap system by the brake booster. I removed all the evap system from my 02 lightning, including the charcoal canister and evap system by the brake booster. Since you need a new tune for your supercharger the tuner can remove it from the tune, if you can legally do it in your state
You also need a new tune with your new maf, which is required for your new supercharger
