As a Titans fan who watched CJ his entire career it was absolutely amazing to hold your breath literally EVERY TIME he touched the ball with the possibility of breaking one.
Running style maybe but Kamara is a way better receiver and runs with a more balanced style between elusiveness and power with balance playing a huge part of it.
His downfall at Tennessee all had to do with Kevin Mawae being forced to retire after the 2009 season. Because he was the president of the NFL Players Association. He and Ahmad Hall contributed alot to how good the running game was at Tennessee. Eugene Amano who is a guard, was converted to a center where he did absolutely horrible at. The fact that Johnson was even able to get 1300 yards , better yet 1k til 2013 says how special he was. That O line was absolutely atrocious. He was also robbed of breaking Dickerson's record , Johnson ran for a 60+ yard TD during the 3rd quarter that was called back for a foul that never took place. If that counted. He would have beaten Dickerson's record quite easily as the titans would have been ahead comfortably in the 4th.
Jeff Fisher did everything he could to ruin his career just like he did Vince Young and Goff. The fact that he ran for that many yards with Jeff "8-8" Fisher as his coach should give him an automatic HOF consideration period.
He needs more hall of fame consideration. His TD runs were historic. He would've broke the single season rushing record if it weren't for the immortal Ed Hochuli.
Honestly yes. I think the only thing holding him truly back is the fact he isn't in the 10k (career rushing yards) club but when you look at earl campbell, Chris johnson deserve to be in the hall

Cj did it mostly in big increments, most of Derrick Henry’s carries were 3/4 yards. Equally impressive I think a defense is probably more scared of Derrick Henry than Chris Johnson but thats not knock on cj2k
It's crazy when you say his explosiveness declined because he was at such a high athletic level his decline was still better than alot of backs in their prime in terms of speed

FINALLY!!!! I've been waiting for this for a long time. CJ is probably my favorite player of all time, definitely my favorite running back. Despite the 09 season (which is the best year for a running back) and his great career... he's kinda underrated and forgotten. It's crazy to me.
The story of saquon barkley is kinda cool. He went from not even player varsity minutes as an underclassman to one of the best college Rb prospects ever.

FINALLY!!!! I've been waiting for this for a long time. CJ is probably my favorite player of all time, definitely my favorite running back. Despite the 09 season (which is the best year for a running back) and his great career... he's kinda underrated and forgotten. It's crazy to me.
