  • Today we're going to take a walk along Kokusai Dori, the most commercialized part of Naha in Okinawa. When I came last year, I was practically the only visitor walking along the streets. What is it like this time especially since the state of emergency was lifted? Let's check it out.

    Nice hair today!
And thank you for putting all of the effort you guys do in the TabiEats video and all of your other videos. My partner really appreciates the Japanese subtitles to improve their Japanese. And I love the editing style of TabiEats; it’s so professional looking! Also, I really hope that this vlog channel isn’t too straining for you since it’s like a really long uncut video for half an hour or so of you just enjoying the atmosphere.
Please remember that your health is the most important thing! And your time too! Don’t stress too much about editing. We love you guys and still will love you if you do less editing work!

Thanks for taking us along. Okinawa is on my "bucket list" when we eventually come back to Japan. I appreciate it when you show us vegan / veggie options .;. I do eat fish but no meat or fried foods. You are a "hoot" as our guide, keep sharing.

I still have my little A&W child-sized root beer mug. We went there all the time when they did drive up service and attached your tray to your window.

Yes A&W is here in Canada too.
That was a really interesting walk I love checking out sidestreets.
You should at least take a day off to recuperate.

My dog going absolutely mental at the television because she can hear the sounds the traffic lights make, and thinks its in the house. 😂
Praying to the God's Japan reopens this year. I'm quietly optimistic, even with current global waves.
    Great vid as always. 🙌🏼

Nice walk Shinichi. I love how the train had faces on it. That was cute! And you know if you moved there it wouldn't be special anymore. Now you can go every now and then for vacations and it's a special fun time you can look forward to.😊
And btw I was wondering... do you need two Shisa statues at your door or can you have one?

Mahalo for all of your videos that I started watching especially on Okinawa which I visited 30 years ago. I really appreciate the references to Hawaii, since I’m local. I need to go back to Okinawa since half my family is there (mom is from there). Anyway, too much vala au. Take care.

Mahalo for walking down Kokusai Dori. But I was disappointed that you ended your walk at the rail station. Kokusai Dori actually is a little longer than that. You would have seen the bakery/cafe in Hotel Royal Orion. The bakery is good, my daughter really loved it. Hopefully the little restaurants on that section of Kokusai Dori are still open, too.

The A&W at our mall back in the day used to sell hot dogs.
That’s one thing I haven’t seen in any Japan vlogs. I assume Japanese folks don’t eat hot dogs? Or is it just a rare thing?

Oh how I wish I could make it to Japan to visit my daughter in Niigata. I was all ready to go in March of 2020, but then the world came to a standstill. And now with this new variant I hear that Japan has closed it's borders once again. 😞 if you happen to run into a Curly haired American on the streets of Niigata, tell her that her mom misses her, lol.

Universal mask wearing. Social distancing as much as possible. Medical professionals not politicians making the plans. Extremely high vaccination rate. Recognition that this is something to be addressed rather than dismissing it. Lastly, respect for eachother and in particular...the "older" population. Japan....you have your act together. The World can learn something from you.
