Your reviewing was damning with faint praise. Honestly I don’t get how you don’t get her as a song writer or vocalist:
If someone were to maybe criticise Florence’s live performances, I’d get that’cos some of them are shite!
I have no problem with Mel C, she’s got a pretty serious set of pipes on her but being brutally honest , she’s not in the same league as FATM.

Is the name Darkness ironic? Because they ain't that dark, more like Freddie Mercuries tool after a weekend and Sam Ryder sounds like Chris de Burgh.
I personally love it when you pause and go into the guitar and smash the solos that they’re doing. It’s so fascinating that you can pick up musical abilities so quick just from hearing it. So insightful too
It's the most exciting part of every video for me, too. Justin's musical talent, knowledge, and ear never cease to impress me!

Yes, it’s not a listening party! And we’re here because we like the host and format. JH isn’t creating his subscribers, the subscribers are people who like what this is.
He might as well have asked “why do people find rockstars interesting?” And maybe he just doesn’t have a clue how UA-cam and things like podcasts work…you seek channels and/or shows out because of the opinions of the people that host said shows. Some you like, some you don’t…it’s a matter of personal taste. That’s the whole point. Don’t like it? Either find one you do or find something else to do. It blows me away he’s had so many years to figure this out now and still doesn’t grasp the concept.
Something very heartwarming about 2 people rekindling a friendship after something quite unimportant.

I love the way you breakdown the song, I’ve played guitar for well over 20 years and you break the songs down beautifully for people who may not understand. You have such a quick ear for melody and chords and still give us some personality. We love hearing you talk. ❤

I love this channel. Back in the mid 70's when I was a young ankle biter, there was something called Rock School on BBC2. People would talk about the way a song was composed musically, how it worked and how the lyrics fitted in. This channel is very similar and it's lovely to hear someone you respect as an artist exploring the music. This channel is glorious and keep up the good work fella!
I remember Rock school...wouldn't wait to see it every week especially when they covered how to play Heavy Rock
@@dannymcmince The drummer was phenomenal, he ended up in Black Sabbath. The bass player was a well known session guy and the lady guitarist was/is a respected jazzer. It all seemed a bit haphazard though, they went from the basics of tuning a guitar to reading charts in about 2 hours...

Justin, I was able to watch your Sam Ryder's NYE show performance several days ago, on UA-cam. You were brilliant!! Loved the hair flip! I especially enjoyed the performance since it was recorded on the same day that you recorded my "Happy Birthday" Cameo, backstage at the BBC. I want to sincerely thank you for the time and effort that you (and Andy, and the others in the room) put into making such a special Cameo. I cherish it. To be frank, The Darkness wasn't my cup of tea back in the day and I really don't know how I've stumbled on this channel. In saying that, I love the videos and have discovered your one hell of a musician. Watching your breakdowns and thoughts on things are fascinating, and I have a new found appreciation for The Darkness to boot!

I went to school with Sam Ryder, he was lead guitarist and singer in his school band who would play covers of Iron Maiden, Sum 41 and, of course, I Believe in a Thing Called Love
I worked in security for 20+ years including concert security. I remember working a Darkness concert at the BIC in Bournemouth and the whole band and crew were lovely people...the highlight of the concert was the guitarist going amongst the crowd playing whilst sitting on my fellow bouncer's shoulders. We wouldn't have done that if the band weren't such nice people...would've probably dumped him on his ass

I really enjoy your channel, I stumbled across it while watching The Charismatic Voice. I grew up in the '90s (So I know who you are and who The Darkness are) and was a Rave and Techno kid, so everything I listened to was more electric and no real writing involved. But I enjoy channels like yours where they break a song down and explain what is happening, I always just thought someone was either a good singer or a crap singer, I never knew about all the underlying stuff like vocals chords etc.

I have to agree - music IS the best art! It's far more accessible to everyone's appreciation and life enhancement than any other form of art. I don't think I've ever heard it said before, but I think you're absolutely right.

As a guitar player, I'm with you there. The whole idea that "you don't pause during solos" is bullshit. If you're learning someone else's solo, you're analising it, and you have to pause it all the time. If you're analising a song, the solo is part of the song and deserves an analisis just like the rest of the song. So pause and comment whenever a comment is deserverd. If anyone wants to hear uninterruped solos, they can go listen to the song by themselves.
