Isn’t that referred to as an ad hominem? The moment you abandon the subject matter and resort to insulting your opponent you indicate that you’ve run out of debatable points and therefore have lost the debate.
Calling someone a mean white man is about the most racist statement I've heard in a formal debate. Imagine if Peterson and Fry called Dyson an entitled black man profiting on victimization.
There's a difference. If JP said that it'd be true. Poor 'Murican melanated victims; can't do shit for themselves. Have to bring up slavery hundreds of years after the fact. Have to use rrrrrrraycism as a crutch whenever any issue comes up. Take no responsibility, can't properly raise children, constantly crying criminals who then refuse to be accountable. Boohoo they're weaklings. Since they're so exposed to rrrrrraycism in the US maybe they should go to Africa and live among people who sort of look like them. Oh right they can't because they have to leech off of the pales. Absolutely useless.
Calling a thing what it is isn’t racism. racism is the systemic and societal oppression of others and in this country if you do not condemn it and work against it as a white person you are participating in it. so save the tears buddy, I agree with Jordan Peterson on many topics. but calling out white racism doesn’t equate to racism itself, especially from a people who have never had the privilege to be racist.
@@samoroth Racism is the discrimination, hatred and or negative stereotyping of a person based on their race. Anyone can be a racist regardless of their position in society. The idea that you must be in a position of power is just an excuse for racism because "it's not racism when I do it." That idea is helping to divide our society and make us weaker as a whole and as individuals. Ironically Dyson is in a position of power and he is extremely racist, he speaks in negative racial stereotypes all the time. He sees groups he doesn't see individuals and frankly I think he's pretty disrespectful of Black people. I think there's a misguided sence of racial inferiority going on inside him and it makes him despises white people and talk about black people as if they are children.
Not sure how/why bringing up racism on a topic about if political correctness impacts free speech, and then insulting a panelist by referring to his race is relevant or germane to the discussion (unless you're perpetuating racism and victimhood), but OK. Good to know.
My grandfather always said that we can build each other up without tearing another down. So I believe we can build up the black community without tearing down the white community. I was raised in a multi race family in Louisiana and mixed myself. I dont see sides of me because I am human and like my heritage doesn't make me.
Well said.... I think if you were born here your native American and im half blackfoot.... I'm always what the hell ppl.... we all poor so we all basically in the same boat
Amen! It's really weird how the people saying they are against racism are the most racist people and the only ones who bring it up. It's totally backwards I don't get it. And just for that I'd be called racist or a privileged white person.

Michael Dyson probably has an IQ of 75 uses over a dozen words that don’t exist in the English language he does not use the English language in proper context but they’re off are you bionics fourth grade or just a testament to the fact that if he wasn’t brought over here by Europeans and this is a fact he would be standing in a jungle or desert half naked

I'm a black woman. Dyson is racist. A post modernist word salad. You nailed it!! I had no idea what he was trying to convey!!!! Made no sense to me.😅 Then he threw in Beyonce to threaten anyone from challenging his flaky points.
First, Dyson is claiming that white people have ruled the world, so they cannot complain when others want their share. Is this true? Yes, yes it is and this is mainstream knowledge, nothing post modern about it, just history. Dyson is not talking about ALL whites, only those who complain and who want to keep or conserve the status quo, that is, conservatives. What exactly is it that they want to conserve? Their power of course, but others want their share now, so that upsets them and this is what is behind their motivation. It is not about having a problem with the left agenda whatever that may be, that is fine, there can be a dispute about that, but it cannot be a desire to keep things the way they used to be. So, do conservatives want a racist, white supremacist world? Yes, yes they do. It is right there in the name of their ideology. They are very clear about that, there is no mystery there.
@@etchalaco9971 White people HAVE GIVEN everyone living in the west "their share." He's not an idiot. He is a harmful agent to society. Would you be able to keep your cool in front of an audience, then calmly and articulately dismantle the POS? I'll admit I would probably lose cause I'm not a debater.
What you don't understand is not nothing. You disagree without understanding the argument, and then you just say something random that you think sounds degrading. That says less about Dyson than about you.
Orrrrrrr maybe, just maybe, someone that gets paid millions of dollars for their talent; which is head and shoulders above many of his peers, doesn't feel like having his time wasted by such a trivial question about a topic that he himself has no power to change or affect. Morgan Freeman was 100% correct.... it is irrelevant what Neo Anderson says about Freeman's income or status in society, Dyson says "The N Word" whilst completely ignoring just who in society uses it the most...in its fullest form of insult. It's the usual claptrap from Dyson...an intelligent man using a social problem to further his own standing, instead of addressing the blatant problems within that society. The racial debate has become an industry and many are only too willing to perpetuate the division, nay, even feed and nurture it for the hatred and division it causes AND THE BENEFITS IT BRINGS ONLY THEM.
@@NeoAndersonChannel1 Did you even watch the interview? He really meant to say that the media should stop talking about it, because that is what keeps it in peoples minds.
Watched this with a colleague. The way we both sighed and rolled our eyes when Dyson made it about race AGAIN, even in his closing statement. 🙄…and we’re both black men
Dyson doesn't actually know how to debate as well as he knows how to deflect and attempt character assassination. From the first time I ever heard him speak and every time since, he comes across as being someone who is more interested in being the champion of pontification exacerbated by exaggeration (lol) Without any actual motivation for resolution. In other words - I can't stomach the guy and I believe he's wrong - Because he never moves outside of the victimhood context - He just keeps coming up with more elaborate ways of saying it. But it sells, so he keeps pushing it.

My God, when Stephen Fry starts laughing at what you're saying, you know you're doomed. Man picked a fight with terribly wrong opponents. Jordan Peterson was great, but man Stephen didn't talk for like 70%, however managed to show his class even through his silence. Amazing human being!
Michel Eric Dyson is the best example to explain Albert Einstein's quote : "I hate when people confuse education with intelligence. You can have a degree and still be an idiot."
It's satire! And the point is that Peterson's opacity and verbosity - his reliance on complicated terms to explain simple concepts - is kind of annoying.

As a Christian he should know the intent and thoughts of the heart flow through the mouth. Too bad his emotions get in the way of his intellect.
Owning a Thesaurus does not make one an "Intellectual." Dyson had no train of thought, just big words thrown out in a fast pace so as to almost hypnotize the listener. Nonsensical rhetoric!
My dad was military. I lived in Germany from the age of 9-12 which are the most formidable world view years. It wasn’t brought to my attention that I was black until we moved back to the US. If I’ve been discriminated against…I wasn’t aware of it. If I’m a victim…I didn’t know it. I was raised to get along with everyone and if people didn’t want me around…we either worked it out or I removed myself. We need to hear more from people that refuse to see themselves as victims of racism that they’ve never experienced.
I come from refugee parents and live in Australia and I had NO IDEA America was racist because Australia definitely wasn’t.. NOBODY cared what colour someone was and everyone was the same.. legally, socially and culturally.. everyone was treated the same.. and it’s shocking to hear racism existed anywhere.. especially in America.. NOW THERE IS A PUSH TO ENFORCE RACISM, DIVISION AND TELL EVERYONE THEY ARE RACIST HERE.. Racism is happening here and it’s not white people feeling black people are different it’s BLACK PEOPLE SCREAMING HOW RACIST EVERYONE IS.. It’s terrible.. and the elite indigenous people are getting over $45BILLION a year and it’s not flowing to the people in need.. ITS A MESS..

And yes, calling someone Names and diffame them is an allowed, yet not too recommended course of Action in a Debate - it is called "ad hominem", an attack at a personal level. And it is not recommended because it can backfire very easily because it makes you look bad very easy.
I was thinking yesterday, I know Peterson doesn't drink anymore, but I would do just about anything to sit with him in a bar and just have a beer and chat.

Stephen Fry thinks that men in dresses are women, and that women who protest against having men in dresses in their prisons, sports, changing rooms and rape crisis centers are hateful bigots.

this hit a cord with me too. It became very clear for me what kinda person Dyson is when his opening monologue is having that "child whining"-noise and rant about "snowflakes". a very uncomfortable person.
If he thought white people want to go back to the days where they have racial control they would kick him off the stage and who knows what would happen afterwards. He may be an absolute spanner but he is free to speak his point and get absolutely demolished in response
“Mmmmm hmmmm mmmm hmmmm” 😂 his way of interrupting Peterson’s commentary… the narrator of this video attributed him some grand intellect… he’s just a bully with a nice vocabulary… the way he acted, his arguments, and he’s repeated self hanging aka not knowing when to simply concede and show some humility were signs or arrogant stupidity not intelligence.
the fact that Dyson took Stephen Fry's little light jab so hard, even after calling them all sorts of harsh and nasty things is basically the best representation of our modern world in a nutshell. What attracted me so much to Jordan Peterson from the start was his empathy and humility. The way he observes those truly oppressed, comes along side them and says, this is the way forward, then roots for them with all his heart. That's Jordan!
He doesn't always present that way and many times comes off as unsympathetic. But generally I agree that when he's in a group setting, he hits the mark and presents his best case for the problems with political correctness and identity politics.
I consider myself to be a pretty intelligent person, but I could not follow basically anything Dyson said. My first thought was, "gosh, he's so smart but I can't follow his obviously sound agruments". But then, rewatching it again I realized the Rattlesnake TV host was absolutely correct. @brandunndrowned oh no you see it doesn't offend me (like how everything on earth offends the left), I'm pointing out that yelling is attributed to being mean. He sees racism everywhere because he himself is a brutally racist asshole. It's kind of like how a serial cheater is very quick to accuse others of being adulterous.
The "cheater" allegory you make reminds me of advice I gave a girl I liked many years ago. Her then BF started complaining she was cheating on him and she was hurt because she had not. I suggested that if he was pushing this; he was trying to give himself an excuse for why HE was cheating on HER. She confronted him, and he had to admit the truth. He started the row with her because he was cheating on her, and liked the girl he was cheating with more than her.
As a Black American, I came here to say that Dyson is everything they said about him and more. He speaks the way he does, using "ghetto" vernacular and cadence, interspersed with 3 and 4 syllable words, proper english, and a cadence indicative of an educated person, because he needs to attract and maintain a certain dynamic. He needs ignorant blacks and minorities to follow him because they will buy his book. So he speaks in a way that will attract them, such as quoting Beyonce lyrics and consistently using bad english (we ain't doin' this, or, you a mean white man, etc). At the same time, he must appear to be intelligent for the other people who purchase his books, the radical liberals. He speaks standard English for their benefit. He then intentionally confuses everyone with unnecessary words and invented terminology that obfuscates his so-called message. For him, speaking plainly doesn't sell books. He knows no one is going to call him out and ask him what certain words mean because they don't want to appear stupid. So he keeps getting away with it. Black conservatives and true intellectuals do not buy his books or support him in any way. He sells racism to people who want to blame someone else for their station in life. He trafficks victimhood to liberals. Mr. Peterson and Mr. Fry read him like a book and I am glad someone finally saw through his charade and wasn't afraid to stand up to him.
This guy Dyson really believes he is so smart by the way he strings certain words together ......without his racist bs he wouldn't have a subject to debate....aaaaand I almost coughed coke through my nose when he quoted LBJ calling him one of our "great presidents" ....is he kidding me ?? A man who sees racism under ever bed...LBJ was a huuuuuuuge racist ..well documented...anyway I'm sorry I can't stand Dyson ....an arrogant jacka**
@@Dongdaemun_27 if you truly consider yourself to be right regarding Dyson, then perhaps you should ask yourself - how many 'ghetto' black folk did you notice in the audience? I noticed none. I haven't noticed any in the full length video from the debate munks channel, which I am watching now. That event from 5 years ago was recorded in Canada in front of a nearly all white audience. Yet, Dyson spoke the way you accused him of? More than just ghetto Blacks are familiar with Beyonce lyrics! I agree that he is 'wordy', I'm sure he agrees with that, but I don't feel his intentions are nearly as nefarious as you make them out to be.
Didn't you see at the end after Dyson buried HIMSELF with his idiot synopsis of the debate and Frye and Peterson had the stage for their synopsis both the female and Tyson were hunched over staring forlornly at the floor in devastation?
Bear in mind the interview isn’t the whole thing and the dialogue is interrupted by the guy presenting the video. In that way we are seeing everything in context. Dyson’s problem was he made statements without providing facts to back up his statements. Dyson was definitely outgunned on this occasion.
@@Mark70609 That was kinda my point. Peterson and Fry are highly intelligent men and know how to debate properly. Dyson is a very clever man but he relies on big confusing words and emotion. That will never work against a psychologist and a trained debater with an IQ of 155. When you want to win a debate the best way to do so is to out-fact your opponent. Dyson, as you said, didnt have the facts.
More so, they should reflect on the fact that two people with very different backgrounds and views on other matters happen to sit on the same side in this debate. Like Stephen said, some less certainty would be good.
You can't drag Brexit into this argument, it wasn't all whites who voted for Brexit, it was a citizenship seeking to retain the very meaning of citizenship as so the foundation of the democratic process.

If you don't agree with Dyson then that means you have internalized Racism.
