  • Dragon's Dogma Online is a MMO only released in Japan. It's servers are getting shut down on 12/11/19.
I'm using the latest English patch provided by riftcrystal on github. Not much of the story is translated, but items, menus, and enough to get me through.
    Part 2: • Let's Play A Dying Gam...
    Part 3: • Let's Play A Dying Gam...
    Part 4: • Let's Play A Dying Gam...
Unfortunately this will only be a 4 part series since the server have gone down while I played. Honestly, while I did enjoy it, it was really difficult staying invested without any "real" english helping me with the story or the lore.

Never played this, but wished that Capcom localized this to west. Alot of MMOs get alot of love over here.

This would've probably beat most mmo rpg's

One of the most underrated games of all time. An absolute shame the west didnt get to experience this commercially.

Thanks for these videos, Dragon’s Dogma is one of my favorite games and i completely missed on the chance of even trying this out at the time. I’ll binge watch this short play through

Yeah, it's a shame I fell off from it. I had a lot of stuff going on at the time and it was hard to stay motivated to play it with many missions still untranslated.
I still frequent the discords hoping for new on a private server, but it appears they've hit a permanent roadblock.

I hope DD2 has graphics of Demon's Souls PS5 and the mechanics of DDO

I installed it before, but because of computer problems, it got corrupted. Would have played it if the downloading updates would not have taken like 30 days for me. Went back to dark arisen.

Well, hopefully they shut this down and moved the team to Dragon's Dogma 2. The head dev said he wanted to do it and was given the choice of DMC5 or Dogma 2. DMC5 is all done, and there's no more DLC coming for it. So........ :fingerscrossed:

i played this, the game felt kind of stale because its doesn't free like open world but hub based like monster hunter but with a way more scripted world, its dragon's dogma combat after all, and with some interesting classes which makes it good tho, i'm sad they deleted some classes or got downgraded but that was done because of the sake of balance probably because its a coop game but they also added new ones like the alchemist or the spirt lancer which is basically magic knight but with a lance instead which makes more sense actually.
The problem with this game is that i felt like i wanted to play more but there was something that made it boring, like a burnout from my part, which happened rather quicker than in the singleplayer game, even it having more monsters it felt more like a monster hunter in some way and the repetition wasn't all that fun compared to that game either. That feel kinda ran my interest to play it more in the long run, i did not see myself playing it for like a lot of time like warframe or pso2 (which i abandoned ones i found out about affixing that feels like a never ending job instead of a game), it felt like it had some inconveniences that where put there on porpoise. Now that i think about it, it may have been the grind, the grind is far greater than the one on ddda, because even tho i "grinded" in ddda, it was fun because i wasn't in a grind mindset, I was killing things for fun, not because i had to progress a certain place, the only place i grinded was the everfall to get revival stones and kill the urdragon which was badass unless you use the broken class explorer to kill it, most of my grind was just playing side quests and then going to bitterblack, restart the game in hard, play it again, try a different class, and then repeat again to try a different route to see the different character stories, and when i look at my character it happens to have level 120 on xbox 360 and 150 in pc without using the killing death in the first phase of bitter black throwing him to the abyss, it ran off when i felt like i explored enough and i can't no more, but instead ddon, this is a monster hunter grind to craft equipment but with paid mechanics thrown into it which is worse than monster hunter, instead of feeling like a superior version that has like double the bosses and enemies with different varieties of them like the white chimera that i really like or the syrinx and a lot of new things alongside several well sized maps to explore and a lot of other things, it felt like an inferior product and it also has weird mechanics that i don't understand and are either pay to win or take too much to get going but are teased from the start like the mandragora, i have no clue how to get 90% of the materials for that because i didn't archive endgame :u but you showing me something i can't do anything with at this stage of my game at all. I don't dislike grind till it becomes annoying and then i don't play warframe for a 2 or 3 months to put an example of too much grinding in a period of time and also this is a free to play, there has to be a way to annoy the player to pay or to keep them around for longer time, even tho this game isn't as bad as warframe in grind terms at all in any regard (at last for what i archived, after all i only did 1/3 of the game because i only passed to the second map and already felt boring because the people i played with no longer played and the constant annoyance of using a vpn to even download the game updates), everything i wanted to get was relatively easy to get and well organized to search because of the chad translators team that put a number code in every object making it substantially easy to search for in the market, but having something like this makes the dragon's dogma experience run off because it felt like i was tied to something all the time and couldn't do shit about it because it was how the game was designed, never felt like exploring and unlike the original one playing this one alone with your pawns feels rather lonely.
Kind of a missed opportunity, i know DD sold like way better in japan than the rest of the world till it reached pc where it sold like hot bread, but "unless is the most popular game on the market we think on it", you are asking for impossible results because you don't really want to do that. But still i'm going to miss this game, really interesting concept of a game that could have worked way better outside of japan because of the "ugly" graphics this game has on porpoise, dirty looking textures everywhere even in the characters, the characters never look like insane pretty models like black dessert but rather just ugly, kind of pretty or just pretty to the eye which already makes the game hard to market it, because the good looks are an important thing in japan regarding any product or brand, that is how shitty generic idol animes keep coming out and are successful, they announce the characters beforehand but they don't say a thing about the plot, really a poor choice to market a game to try to sell a game in a country the things that sell the most are the pretty ones.
