The garden beckons...I long to be in the dirt, love to weed around the blooms. My knitting takes a hit...🙃. So I sit with my knitting bag, outside late afternoons and after supper, savor the gloaming. Even on rainy days, Sit and Knit for a bit becomes the sunshine. You both are the bee's knees!!!
Thanks for making such a great effort to keep "Sit and Knit for a bit" going these past months! ☺️ I look forward to hearing all about your adventures when you are back. Enjoy your well deserved break! 💕
I will miss your Wednesday visits, for sure and am already looking forward to your return! Have a fun and safe summer, Arne and Carlos! Thanks for keeping me company!
Another great show - you were so kind to let the lady gather herself in your home. She is one lucky lady, to be entertained by the two of you. You always put a smile on my face. ♥
Thanks, Carlos, for demonstrating the weaving. I can see why it becomes so meditative. Even though it’s simple once you get used to it, a LOT of work goes into making those at the full length. Love all these traditional crafts.
Thsnk you for another wonderful episode! Would love to see an episode or tutorial that shows how Arne seams his sweaters. Have a wonderful time in Italy and a relaxing break!
Great podcast as always 😊. Thanks for all the updates, love the Brioche sweater, the blue colour yarn is gorgeous. Looking forward to have you back in August, two months seems long, but of course you need your time off also, have a great summer, and safe travels. Hoping one day I’ll be able to join you on your cruises 🚢 🤗.
Love you two! You have so much energy! Carlos you may be slower in knitting than Arne, but your mind is ever creating new things! Arne, it’s unbelievable how much you accomplish in just your hand work, but reading, too! My, you are a busy boy! Both of you are such a pleasure to be with once a week! Thank you!❤️❤️
Have a wonderful holiday break. Enjoy your travels and looking forward to hearing about all of your upcoming activities. Keep safe and happy knitting! 🧶
What a beautiful view of the Lake! I hope you are having a wonderful time in Italy. I agree with Arne, "nothing worse than not having yarn"! 🤣 Sounds like your summer is going to be very busy. Prayers for safe travels and good health! 🤗❤️😘
Arne's facial expressions when you said you ironed and folded for 4hrs. We laughed so hard. I was in Cuba in 2018. Affordable, safe and fun. You would love the art. No Starbucks, Cuban coffee is so good you will crave it.Great show!
Chuckling the whole way through the video..."nobody likes empty" is going to be my new excuse, thanks Arne. Hope you have a great summer, Sit and Knit with you will be missed!
I always look forward to Sit and Knit for a Bit - an excuse to sit with a coffee and knit/sew/crochet and just listen to you chatting. Have a wonderful summer and I look forward to seeing you again in the autumn. Of course the tutorials are fun too, but the informality of Sit and Knit for a Bit is such fun.
Thank you so much for the entertainment today laughed a lot through this one I also am a pillow fan and the chairs and couch were too full so I understand 🤣 And now I have something to look forward to I can’t wait for sit and knit a bit in August 🤩
You guys are the funniest hosts. I just love spending time with you both while I knit. Your stories and experiences are just delightful. It was so nice you were able to console that poor woman! Goes to show you how a bad start to a day can turn into something so positive. A few of us might be tempted to try the same so we get invited to coffee at your house hahahaha 😂. All the best on your upcoming trips Arne and Carlos. See soon. Lupita 🇨🇦
So enjoy your updates. Am in Australia (north of Sydney) and we are approaching the warmer months. Spring here now, but has been quite cold. Love seeing your home, garden, and various projects. Loved the one on Bakashi composting. How amazing to see your garden during winter, and then all the wonderful plants back in Fall/Autumn, Summer, and Spring.
I hope you enjoy your summer! My tradition lately has been listening to your updates while quilting. I always find some bit of humor and wisdom. It’s true “there is nothing worse than not having the yarn” . How do people travel without yarn?
I'll miss "Sit and Knit for a Bit!" I'm planning to re-watch from fall 2020. Wishing you a wonderful summer! I'll very much look forward to August and hearing about all your adventures.
Since I've gotten a little older I would like to cut down on things. What I do is that for every one thing I bring home, I get rid of two things. So if zi buy new shirt, I get rid of 2 shirts! You guys are so wonderful to watch! Much love!
Good idea, that would also deter impulse buying. At 66 yrs, retired I have been downsizing everything in each room. I don't want our sons having to go through a mass of junk.
I’ve so enjoyed you both. And I’m learning to knit with your tips. For all your precious things it would be great to rotate them in and out. That way you enjoy all the pieces each time your bring them out. Have a great summer off and hope to see you in autumn.
Have a great summers, guys! ❤️ Thank you so much for all the great episodes. You helped me get through a long, rainy, cold winter here on the south west coast of Canada. I so enjoyed all my knitting sessions with you. Looking forward to hearing about your summer adventures.
Arne & Carlos for the first time ever I’m sitting knitting 🧶 for bit in my conservatory watching and listening to you both! Love Arne grey new sweater it’s gorgeous! And Carlos I’ve seen that exact yarn 🧶 in my local yarn store so lovely I might buy some! And by now you will be in beautiful Italy! As for your comments about weather it’s definitely climate change the weather here in more like autumn some days so it’s definitely on with my Norwegian cardigan! Good to see you both so relaxing to listen to you both! Carlos I like to knit in peace and quite and when I did go to knit and natter group had to always pull out my knitting 🧶 as you need to concentrate on pattern ha! Ha! Hugs & xx 😘🧶💜😘
Lovely listening to you both Arne and Carlos as always. Enjoy your time away, it sounds very exciting. So kind of you to help the lady in distress. Stay blessed and enjoy the summer break.
thanks for another lovely visit....the progress comparison between Carlos' sock & Arne's sweater made me smile...always neat to see what projects you have on the go & to hear what you've been up to! I hope you have a fabulous garden trip & summer break & look forward to seeing you in August 💞 (and on Sundays 😉)
It is so much fun watching you too and what a beautiful view we had on the lake behind you 😍 knitting my socks and watching you talk about your adventures is a perfect combination!
I find myself looking forward to my weekly dose of your company! I laughed out loud when you were telling the story of the lady and her stuck car…..good luck talking about storing items and moving things in and out. I would be thrilled to see the inside if your home. I will miss you but I understand the need for a summer break. Have a grand time in Italy, enjoy your summer. See you in August…..I will continue watching the tutorials.
I have a lovely book that encourages re-arranging furniture & decor with the seasons. Having the same things around every day, you cease to see it anymore. It is nice to change things out, move the furniture (and clean under/behind it!) every few months.
You are both so enjoyable! I only wish I was meeting you both in Italy, but perhaps next year. Have a wonderful time! Enjoy your summer break and I will binge watch your older videos once again while waiting for new episodes. See you soon! ❤️
Ok - you both made me laugh out loud! Seriously. I love the question - "what will our house look like if we live 30 more years"? Too funny! You are both creative, caring, energetic, and fun people. Sit and Knit for a Bit is so enjoyable. Thanks so much!
Love the brioche sweater! While I am watching this episode, I am swatching with your Norwegian wool. It is absolutely dreamy to work with! So lofty and soft! It’s like holding a baby lamb in your hands. I can’t wait to start a project with it. 🧶
I will be not very patiently waiting for Sit and Knit for a Bit to return in August It is one of the bright spots in my week...that being said enjoy your summer. Safe travels!
I love the story about the tartan in Norway - although my grandmother was a descendant of the Sinclair clan and maybe I should be upset at the thought of the soldiers being stripped of their kilts!!! Oh come on Carlos, "spice up your life"!!! I can see that neither of you travel with only carry-on bags! Oh my! Enjoy the garden tour!
Arne, you must be one of the fastest knitters on the planet, to finish the grey sweater so quickly! I love it! Have a great summer, you two. See you in the fall!
Thank you. I have so enjoyed Sit and Knit for a Bit this year. I know it's hard work but you do have a loyal following. On displaying your objects. I have a large collection of Australian Aboriginal art because I used to have a job that involved visiting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Over the years I collected far many more paintings and other items than I have wall space for. So I rotate paintings every 6 months, other than 2 favourites which are hung all the time. It's good fun and I've learned how to put the pieces together to freshen everything up and really change the look of the different rooms. Very satisfying and I highly recommend it. Have a great summer and I look forward to you returning in Autumn.
I’m Australian and love that you have a collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander art. I have a few pieces and my sister has a bit more from working in NT.
@@taniabishop Thank you. I felt that I should buy when I went to different communities as it's a way of those poor communities making real income. I have given some away but kept the best pieces.
Love the view behind you. Arne you are a fast knitter and I love the sweater. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy your summer vacation. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it when Sit and Knit for a bit is back.
Sit and Knit for a Bit is my island of sanity in my week. I will miss you guys but hopefully you will come back full of stories! Hope Arne has a good time searching through all sorts of thrift stores this summer. Meanwhile I guess I will just rewatch some of my favorite Sit and Knit for a Bit episodes...
I hope you two have a wonderful summer! I am sad that I have to miss you until August because I love sitting down with you both each Wednesday. Thankfully I can go back and rewatch old Sit and Knit for a Bit videos. I hope you both realize what joy you bring to so many people all over the world? Thank you! 🧡💚🤎
Enjoy the summer. I plan to do the same. Will miss you both. You fill my week with a fun and interesting subjects and learn about your adventures. I don’t think Arne is happy with your de cluttering your home.
Hi guys happy to see you I loved the sweater it turned out great I think the horses will be beautiful when finished glad you got your kitchen garden planted so you have a great garden tour and I will see you Sunday and will catch in August for sit and knits take care have a great summer loved the colored dolly records 😊
Forgot to mention, I am working on a Christmas ball I designed on the graph paper in the back of your book. It is of the Mayflower that brought the pilgrims to America in 1620. My husband had an ancestor on that ship. I can't express how much you inspire me. Thank you so much. Looking forward to August. Victoria in Kansas City.
“I don’t want to look like a Spice Girl” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Lol. I would love to come and have coffee at your house and look at all the interesting things, the lake, your garden and pet Freymar! I hope you post some short videos and photos of you garden this summer. That would be fabulous. Enjoy Italy!
Have a great Summer and see you when you get back from your Holidays. Stay safe! Looking forward to whatever you two decide to do "a change is as good as a rest". Enjoy your travels.🥰,Sharon.
@@ARNECARLOS I have! When people ask who taught me to crochet, I answer, "Arne." For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who don't understand, no explanation would suffice.
Thank you both so much. You are very entertaining and I learn something every time I watch you. We have the same interests and I wish I had further my education in design. Hopefully it’s not too late at my age
I have just looked at your photos on instagram of you both in your folk costumes. You both look so handsome and the costumes fit so beautifully . You did such a great job of making them. Arne looks especially gorgeous as does Carlos
I love the view. It reminds me of the wilderness of Ontario (Canada) where my mom got inspiration for painting. I love the chat as I knit. Your summer sounds fabulous.
Yes, go to Cuba; you will love it. The old cars, the colors, the music, the people, the history...I went in 2018 and stayed in Old Havana, then traveled the countryside as part of a horticultural study group. Met farmers, artists and even a voodoo priest.
Thanks for all the shows. Loving the banter and cannot wait for a catchup in August. Have a wonderful well deserved break. Thanks to the team who work with you. Enjoy Italy. I am off to enjoy working in my garden. ❤💋👍
Love the sweater, Arne and it reminded me of my high school days in the late fifties. All of a sudden it was a MUST to have a sweater like this in yellow. We all (girls) were knitting like crazy in the breaks inbetween lessons to get it ready before easter. I was lucky having a fast knitting aunt that helped me finish the project in time. And....Carlos... love your necklace. Just beautiful! And...you are right about having too much decorations around in the house at the same time. Less is more! Have wonderful time in Italy!
I think it’s hilarious that Carlos gets upset if Arne says anything against him in jest, when Carlos is rude and dismissive of Arne all the time and Arne just rolls with it. You two make me smile.🌻
Enjoy your "Sit and Knit for a Bit " podcasts. Both of you make me laugh and bring joy to my life. I'm trying to down size my acquisitions also....but it never happens. I tell myself, for every one thing new I bring into the house, I let one go.
Love this Sit & Knit with you; probably someone has asked this, but could we have a virtual tour of your home? Your speaking about your decor has me really wanting to see how you decorate!
Hi guys - enjoy your garden tour - you certainly know how to have a good time! I'll check your Instagram to see what you are up to! I don't have Facebook either, though there is a lovely Page for The Last Homely House organised by admins - there just aren't enough hours in the day!! I knit my Lime Green sweater the whole time you were arguing about what to pack! ha ha! have a great trip! Kate xxx
Wow! Seeing a pod of 50-100 whales must have been mind blowing! Once in a life time experience! I relate to your dilemma about how to display all your things in your house. I think embracing your maximalism is the way to go with seasonal editing and rotating your treasures. You’ll work it out! I have too much stuff for the space I have and need to make some hard decisions about what to keep and let go. Enjoy your Summer break and see you in August 😊
Have a fun, fun garden trip in Italy! So glad I can see you fellas on Sunday throughout the summer. Curious what your new Sit and Knit format will be. 🤔. Loving the comfy brioche sweater, Arne. Still working out the pattern? Great idea Carlos to swap your stuff around. We do that with our mugs and tea 🫖 cups. Makes them seem new again!
Safe travels to Italy. And have a safe and fun summer. Look forward to seeing you guys in August. And thanks for sharing the beautiful lake during the podcast.
I fell in love with the Mandrill the moment I have first seen it. Watching the video you did for the small knittingmill it was clear I have to make one. I did not follow your vlog every week, or maybe I did not hear that this pillow is your own design, I thought it was an thriftshop find as the catspillow.... and spent hours and hours by searching for a pattern, finally opened again your shopssite and was so happy to find it there. I wanted to start stitching the moment I downloaded the pattern - okay canvas was in my stash - BUT no thread and that is the point I nearly gave it up. Not easy to find here in Vienna - I don´t like to buy online but will have to. So opened the DMCpage BUT no delivery to Austria ))-: Long story short - I found a way to get it !!! Ordered it to be sent to my friend Germany an she will send it to me. Hope to get it next week..... Now that you are on holidays, I will watch all the videos I have missed. Looking foreward to see you in august.
Hi, Arne & Carlos! Your grey sweater is lovely, Arne. Carlos, I like the socks that you are knitting. I enjoyed this episode as I usually do❤️❤️ Listening to your discussion about the pillows, etc., made me chuckle😊
"Arne & Carlos: Sit and Knit for a Bit" is always the brightest part of my week....the Sunday post as well.....i love watching you two talk about Norwegian and Swedish culture....love to learn more of you culture....thank you for sharing it with the world
Thank you for listening!
I live in Eugene, Oregon. But born in Anchorage and raised in Alaska. My mother was full-blooded Yup’ik Eskimo.
My mother was extremely talented. She knit, crocheted, did embroidery, fantastic seamstress, played the piano, amongst other things.

She made everything look easy too. She was a good cook and so very we shall talented in so many ways. I wish I had a little fingernail of her talent. I’m still here, so we shall see where I end up?
May y’all be richly blessed. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your lives with me. 😘

😊❤️ Thank you for watching
Thanks, Carlos, for demonstrating the weaving. I can see why it becomes so meditative. Even though it’s simple once you get used to it, a LOT of work goes into making those at the full length. Love all these traditional crafts.
It is addictive, thank you for watching Esther!
Wishing you a wonderful summer. Will miss you. Thank you for continuing sit and knit.
You are welcome Yvonne!

That sounds like a lovely pattern
Love the sweater. Love the backgrounds you add to needlepoint. Just stitching plain solid backgrounds is definitely a tedious job.
That is true!
We will!
Hope you have a good summer, and look forward to seeing you again for more sit and knit company ❤️😎
Thank you Hazel!
Have a great Summer and see you when you get back from your Holidays. Stay safe! Looking forward to whatever you two decide to do "a change is as good as a rest". Enjoy your travels.🥰,Sharon.
Thank you Sharon!
I'm sitting & crocheting for a bit. I finished my Springalong blanket, but decided it needs more flowers.
We hope you have enjoyed the Knit and Crochet along David
@@ARNECARLOS I have! When people ask who taught me to crochet, I answer, "Arne." For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who don't understand, no explanation would suffice.
Thank you both so much. You are very entertaining and I learn something every time I watch you. We have the same interests and I wish I had further my education in design. Hopefully it’s not too late at my age
I have just looked at your photos on instagram of you both in your folk costumes. You both look so handsome and the costumes fit so beautifully . You did such a great job of making them. Arne looks especially gorgeous as does Carlos
😊
Thanks for all you do, have a lovely holiday. Safe travels xx 😍😍
I love the view. It reminds me of the wilderness of Ontario (Canada) where my mom got inspiration for painting. I love the chat as I knit. Your summer sounds fabulous.
😊
Will miss Sit and Knit for A Bit until August, but you guys definitely deserve a break. Have a lovely summer
You as well!
Have fun in the garden!
I am looking forward to the tutorial on the garters. When I first saw them, I thought I could use the pattern to make a new strap for my ukulele!
👍🏻
Have a great summer, guys!! I will miss these weekly visits but will enjoy the Sunday tutorials!! Thanks!
Thank you!
Thank you Sigrun!
Have a fabulous summer!!! We will miss you both.
Thank you!
Have a great summer and safe travels. Love your costume pics.👍❤️
I think it’s hilarious that Carlos gets upset if Arne says anything against him in jest, when Carlos is rude and dismissive of Arne all the time and Arne just rolls with it. You two make me smile.🌻
😊
Enjoy your "Sit and Knit for a Bit " podcasts. Both of you make me laugh and bring joy to my life. I'm trying to down size my acquisitions also....but it never happens. I tell myself, for every one thing new I bring into the house, I let one go.
That is the only way to do it!
Love this Sit & Knit with you; probably someone has asked this, but could we have a virtual tour of your home? Your speaking about your decor has me really wanting to see how you decorate!
Maybe one day!
Kate xxx
Hi Kate. Fancy meeting you here. Waving from the lime green sofa. 👋
Thank you so much Kate, we hope you have a lovely summer!
Love the location today! Whenever I bake I seem to use both of my sets of measuring spoons. You can never have too many!
😊
Sooo happy to see you back you guys look great
Good to be back!
30 years from now with your crafts… the home will be a fun filled museum for sure.
True!
See you in August!
Yes, still working on it
Oh, I am SO glad to know that you have measuring spoons!
😂
Have a fabulous summer. So glad I got to be with you on Hurtigruten. It was so good! Thanks for everything.
You are welcome!
You will be missed on Wednesday but have a great time. Love the sweater.
Thank you Nancy!
Have a great time in Italy! We will miss the Sit and Knit during the summer!
See you soon!
Have a great summer. Enjoy sit and knit for a bit and your chatter. Will miss it
😊
Have a delightful trip to Italy and a lovely restful summer break.
Thank you!
Safe travels to Italy. And have a safe and fun summer. Look forward to seeing you guys in August. And thanks for sharing the beautiful lake during the podcast.
Thank you!
Also enjoy your break! Wishing you a lively (I meant lovely, but lively works too!) summer :D
We are glad you managed to locate both the pattern and yarn!
I would love to read the Havana Taxi book but sadly not in English (yet). How I love the Sit and Knit video! You are both such a joy!
Thank you😊
Hi, Arne & Carlos! Your grey sweater is lovely, Arne. Carlos, I like the socks that you are knitting.
I enjoyed this episode as I usually do❤️❤️
Listening to your discussion about the pillows, etc., made me chuckle😊
😊
Love. Watching you two. So funny!
Thank you for watching Nanette!
