Nancy's back from an inspiring trip to the Canadian Rockies and of course, she was knitting.Today she's got some easy + mindless summer knits and a "Know Your Yarn" Tutorial on yarn thicknesses, cause what's in the name doesn't mean all that much. (Any one say gauge? Yup.)

I'm envious of your trip! ... One thing I'd love you to talk about sometime is the details of stitches themselves, for example: 1) what part of the knitting/purling action creates what part of the V of a stitch, and 2) what difference knitting TBL makes (what does a k1tbl look like compared to a plain k1). Thank you!

so glad you had a great trip to the Canadian Rockies; I expected you to say the 2 20 year olds spent the entire train trip on their phones, texting, etc.! I would love to take that train trip... dream travel for me!

Canadian here….thrilled you enjoyed Banff! And by train, which had to have been a wonderful way to take in the scenery! I would suggest Ancient Arts Yarns the next time you’re in Calgary.

Hi, Nancy. I enjoy watching your videos. You give a lot of expert advice in a calm and pleasant manner. I’m knitting my second Ranunculus using Sadnes Garn Line. It makes a great summer short-sleeve sweater. I’m from Michigan.

Nancy, glad you enjoyed the Canadian Rockies. That's an area on my bucket list. Please discuss more about yarn weights. A few years ago I knew yarns that were a 4 weight was what I liked. Today I'm confused. I like Aron weight, what I use to think was weight 4. Your suggestion of checking gauge was a good way to tell the weight. Is there any other method if you don't have your pattern?
BTW, I'm in Ohio knitting a Haps.

Inspired by your project choices. The easy folded poncho is cute. I haven’t used Sandnes Garn Line yarn and hope to soon.

Hi Nancy, I am so happy you had a nice vacation. I enjoyed your video. I like the Tolsta tee shirt pattern and I was wondering what would be a good yarn to use. I'm located in Florida so I would like to make a light weight tee that would have a nice drape. Thanks so much.
