- My most difficult bike build ever.
Full modifications and conversion of barn find 1973 Raleigh Sports into a modern Road Gravel Bike (80% Tarmac, 20% Light Gravel)
I went all out crazy on this build. Exploring insane ideas.
Please, I did this on my own bike that I will ride myself. What you will see would probably not work and safe for anyone else to attempt. The risks are mine to be accountable with.

This should be the top " imposible bike conversion" on UA-cam. As the modern trend is to bring the steel bike vibes with modern tradition, here is the best example of how those fancy bike builders sell a steel frame for over $2k. Maybe that's why they say steel is real...
You honor me. Thank You.
Steel is real because it withstands the test of time.
@@acewilliams7917 Steel is real because you can whack it with a ball peen hammer! I'd never dream of bashing around an alloy or carbon thread-less stem like that.
i like steel bike
What are the clamps called that you used to set the over address? Could you share the link of the place where you bought them please?
Top job, spraying WD40 on a red hot frame in the kitchen ~ legend 😆 Great looking bike!!
what an insane build. I watched half drooling and half wincing... The beauty of DIY hacking. And a final weigh-in under 18 lbs! I was shocked
I loved how you make the old to gold!
Admirable craftsmanship.
Not only is the bike extremely light for having a steel frame but it's also absolutely gorgeous. Literally the dream bike!
Thank You 😁
Maybe considered "extremely" light by 1973 standards, everything is relative -
But I agree, gorgeous it is
My first road bike was a Raleigh back in 86
I regret selling it to get a better bike but this restoration is awsome
I'm not a bike mechanic or builder, but that was really compelling to watch. I intended to skip through it to see the results but ended up watching the whole video! And the fact that you're in SE Asia with more difficult access to tools, parts, and a workspace (vs. in the West) makes it extra admirable. Living in Vietnam, I know what it's like to have to depend on Shopee, etc., for gear. Lol. Awesome job!
Living in SEA actually gives you an easier access and Cheaper bike/bike parts compared to the west, because Taiwan and China are just around the corner, I live in SEA too but my parents live in the west so I ocassionally go back and forth, so I can definetely testify to this :)
This was a good watch. Thank you. And the finished product is.... it took my breath away.
One of the most interesting gravel conversion projects I’ve seen in a long time. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure. And thanks!
I agree 100%
Some of the strangest decisions here but I love it
You blowed my mind with the headset hack! Wish I could like your video more than once!
I am not an avid biker at all, but I watch lots of videos like this. This bike build is probably the best looking thing I've ever seen. Amazing!!
You made it looks so easy. Awesome restoration, love your work!
That's the most beautiful bike I've ever seen and honestly great job, it was entertaining from beginning to the end. Thank you sir for this great video.
Terrific transformation with some interesting problem solving!
I've been wanting a gravel bike, but I love vintage stuff. This was the first video that came up when I searched vintage gravel bike conversions. Im all in. Now I just need a vintage frame for tall people.
That looks amazing. Nice work. I have an old Raleigh road bike from about 1990 . All 531 tubing. I can now see it becoming a gravel bike in the future!
There are so many great people in the world! I was completely mesmerized! 😲👍
Looks terrific, great job. Appreciate your skills
An incredible piece of work, amazing from start to finish , and spreading the frame from 120 to 135mm . Wow.
I did subsequently notice that as no chainstay bridge it was easier than other bikes but still an incredible conversion
Many Many Compliment's...You are the professionalism work's!!
this is very satisfying to watch, thank you AndyEF😊
Thank You!
Its beautiful to see an old bike restored and coming back to life again. the Phoenix rising from the ashes and given a new lease of life.....Well done
Wow I'm literally in tears, my first bike was a Raleigh sport I got for Christmas in 1959, I'm in awe at the way you transformed it into a dream bike, well done.
Very impressive build and great problem solving with that headset issue. I’m super impressed with that weight as well, especially with that old steel frame. Well done 👍🏼
You honor me, thank you
Ur an engineer at heart, nice improvisation
I'd describe you as innovative and resourceful. Well done Sir. :)

1st race bike was a Raleigh winner in the early 80s. Loved that bike. Have owned a steel bike ever since despite spending a fortune on ‘modern’ stuff chasing the same feelings.

Thank You!
Another beautiful job.
Really beautiful.
Love the bike, you did a fantastic job
I used a pop rivet to hold RD hanger on. Sits flatter to avoid fouling the cassette lock ring. I like your handlbar setup a lot.
Excellent! I want one like that!
Very good proyec.nice bike.👍👍
Thanks ✌️
beautiful bike!
Nice job!
Very useful Video that include paint steps, how to expanding chainstay without blow torch, cable guide attachment, derailleur adapter. Just what I need to know. Thank you.
Impressive performance
A labor of love.
I had an old raleigh bike from the 70s, it was a very comfortable frame.
Great job with the paint.
Amazing bike, congratullations!!!!.

Great aesthetic and great engineering. Thanks for sharing.
My first bike shop job we used to have a lot of Those come in the shop. I learned what a Whitworth wrench was.
Awesome Build Sir, it was quite a learning :) .
Glad you liked it
Beautiful!!!
Resultado muito feliz . Equilibrada e de bom gosto .
That is sick! Classy and high end for an old bike that was destined for the landfill.
Thanks!

Great modification to a old Real Steel
well done!
Top build.. 👍

Nice Peugot! My first new bike I bought myself with money from my paper routes was a 1976 Concord "Aztec" 10-speed. It was $139 which at that time was not cheap! It is long gone have no idea where it went!😢
