Get a good group of friends and you're fine. Worked for me for 15 years in WoW, 2 years in Blade and Soul and going great 2 years in XIV. Raiding is only as much of a good time as the people you do it with are.
see my problem is trying to make friends in xiv, im still relatively new and a sprout with 450 hours in game ;-; trying to make friends or a group to at least try harder content has been very difficult
@@dprture I know what you're going through. Big answer incoming sorry. Trying to build a circle of friends from scratch that have the interest is tough, and injecting yourself in a group is even harder if you don't have a connection (hey kinda like IRL...) But what I say to you is that FFXIV tries to mask things by using different terms and pretending that it works in a different way... In any other game, you would join a guild, and you'd make friends inside the guild, and then you'd get into content. Of course it would always be possible to just band together with some people you meet who are NOT in your guild... But those are exception. FFXIV likes to do "Statics''... That's a bait, that's far harder to organize, and they are not accessible to the wider people. Join an FC. Preferably one that doesn't have hundreds of people. Join a smaller FC< with some 20~50 players. You will find some people you like and become friends with, you'll find some people you don't care much for but they're alright, you'll find people you don't really care about... Again, just like IRL... But you will also find people who are within your reach, everyday possibly, and that can be interested in doing something, and even if they are not initially, they are part of your immediate group, they will at least try even if only to help you, and that trying is the door for them liking it and wanting to do more. Take your chances at joining a group with interest. Looking for an FC that does say they do raiding, don't join a venue FC, RP FC, yada yada, those do not have interest in running content they do player driven content. If you are on Brynhildr... We do have a raiding FC and we don't mind bringing new people in.
back in HW, I tried raiding in PF. I came out of it with the conclusion "why would I willingly strap in to subject myself to failing upwards with 7 assholes?" because, frankly, that's my experience with raiders. They're shitty people and I don't want to be around them.
That's fair honestly, I raid in JP elemental and people here tends to be more nice afaik. Ive seen some streamers in NA or EU raid in party finder and it looked like people were being mean.
PF does not equal raiders, it equals the bottom of barrel people who desperately want to raid, but cannot get a static due to their lack of skills, manners and/or social skills. I don't think anything is as fun as going blind with your friends and figuring out the fights and then just sweeping it. I would never set my foot in PF groups though, I've done so before and it killed me little bit inside.
Granblue Fantasy Relink exists and is way much more fun than this pos FFXIV dead toxic corpse game that requires masters degree in astrophysics just to run with assholes who do not care about you.
@@EddieCensored Well in that case what you can have fun with Granblue Fantasy Relink instead of worrying about other people having fun with raiding in XIV. If you don't like the game and find it toxic the last thing you should want is to sour your enjoyment of other games by thinking about FFXIV.
amazing video! Makes me want to get into raiding again.

You didn't play with raiders. You played with party finder players.
