@@VittoriaLogli It's obvious. Americans lack adequate education and cultural awareness so y'all always butcher non-English words. The place should be "Des Plaines" as in "Deh-plen" (with a silent s coz it's French) which by the way means "of the plains" in French. It's a French name, so speak it as the French do. No one cares if you're American or not. Detroit (du-truwah not de-troyt), Des Moines (De-mwahn not de moyns), Illinois (Ili-nwah not ilinoys), St. Louis (San Luwee not saint lewis.). They were there before y'all Americans existed, they were created by the French people. Speak them correctly as it is in French. Such an ick hearing Americans speaking proudly mispronounced French names. The lack of awareness and effort to pronounce French names right is pure stupidity. Have y'all gone to school or what? 🙄

The name was purchased from the McDonald brothers by Ray A. Kroc, making Des Plaines the first franchised location of McDonald's. My dad's friend worked at this McDonald's for Kroc himself.
