      I sincerely doubt that Wilds will be as clunky and outmoded as Worlds though. MHW is like something from the late 90s design-wise, despite being released in 2018. Animation lock is literally an intended feature, like they completely missed the memo saying that 99% of gamers hate it.
      I just came off a 500+ hour MHW stint and as much as I like certain aspects of it, there's way too much obnoxious junk weighing it down. I'm really hoping Wilds is more up to date in terms of its combat.

  • @chewbacachunks8644
    @chewbacachunks8644 2 місяці тому +2

    Real gigachads know the real answer to this question is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. It is pretty obvious that Wilds is bringing back the 4U main characters. Story wise MH4U will introduce you to the characters that will likely be appearing in wilds, giving you more of a connection to them.
    Gameplay wise I would say MHWorld is the best choice. As it will likely be more similar to Wilds. Rise is a fantastic game. But it's combat is much different. And is more over the top, not being a main game. Also Monster Hunter World has one of the greatest bosses in video game history. The true final boss of Iceborne is seriously incredible. Yes it is VERY hard, but the fight is so well designed and epic. It's the kind of boss that legitimately gets your blood pumping. At this point I've killed him over 40 times and it never gets old. Masterpiece.

      @michaeldeleon8970 День тому

      @@projectdaaltaran rise style is the arena format if you pay close attention rise and sunbreak is easier than iceborne lol. Ima a vet of the series and sunbreak was a piece of cake especially because certain weapon counters were too OP. You struggle more in iceborne that’s where the challenge is at. Fatalis is harden than any monster in sunbreak.

    • @projectdaaltaran
      @projectdaaltaran День тому

      @michaeldeleon8970 sounds like you were a duoche of the series. True vets appreciate both, and while the og crowd is fairly divided as to which is their favorite, they recognize the merits of both. Some would also argue that the actual end game fights of rise are actually more difficult than iceborne's on average. But your argument about arena or difficulty doesn't really apply to new players. My point was jumping from rise to wilds is an effective way to experience both. And if they go from an easier time to a harder time that's not really a problem when they are just starting to experience the game.

    • @michaeldeleon8970
      @michaeldeleon8970 День тому

      @@projectdaaltaran actually it does matter a lot of new players came into monster hunter because of world. The new players that played world go into sunbreak and a lot of them don’t like it because it’s the OG formula for MH games. World brought the new players and if it wasn’t for world then Mh wouldn’t be this popular I have been playing Mh since the start which was ps2. lol and I ain’t no douche I just appreciate innovation and new things. You on the other hand sound like you base everything you talk about on just your own experience lol 😂 when talking to adults try and look at the crowd and see what the other adults are talking about and make your point.

    • @projectdaaltaran
      @projectdaaltaran День тому

      @michaeldeleon8970 Your entire premise was based upon your own opinion and experiences. I on the other hand reference the community at large at basically every point I made. While Monster Hunter rise has many of the old structures, it maintains and even improved upon the quality of life in world. Many complain in the community about how far the quality of life went in rise compared to old games. And we see wild keeping at least some of these rise quality of life changes. I believe the argument could be made that rise is the easier game for new players to enter and explains itself better. Worlds tutorial was more clunky. And rise lets you enter the game quickly, experience fights and not get bogged down in cutscenes, which is a great option for those who want to get as much as possible out of a game within the window of wilds release. I really wasn't trying to squash your point. I was actually of the same opinion. My thought was practice and prepare for wilds with world. But then I watched a video where the person broke down the differences and explained why you should play world because it's the same. And I realized that this is the best opportunity for new players to quickly experience both options without having to buy three separate games. I was merely stating the antithesis to your statement so people could consider both takes.

    Monster hunter world might seem like the logical choice, but has a major issue which is the clutch claw, which is a frustrating mechanic that thankfully is gone wilds.
    The single player is overtuned in MHW as well, so if you like better action and/or single player, Rise will be your friend.
    Also in Sunbreak you got AI hunters to come with you.
    Also, way more customisation for your palico/palamute. It will introduce you to your mount companion and will generally respect your time more.

The weapons are so much more fun to play with in rise the depth of skills is outstanding. My friend and I tried to get a mutual friend to start Monster Hunter with World. It didn't go well. The starting cutscenes, the opening quests starting you on Zorah Magnaros's back, and the follow up jog to camp, made it feel like tutorial simulator to him. Then when he finally got to camp, and finally got to play with us, he found out that we could only meet up in camp in the multiplayer lobby, and he had to be the one to pick all the missions and such when he wanted us to lead while teaching him. And after all that; for the first available fight to not be any big monsters, he gave up, left a negative review, and is hesitant about playing any future MH games. I was going to see if I could salvage it with Rise since it didn't have any of that mess, but too many things got in the way: buying the game, having space and specs to play it on his computer, him having the time to play anymore, and me being the only person in our friend group to give Rise a chance.

    I think the dealbreaker is Co-Op and Multiplayer experience in general. It's very likely you'd be among someone who plays Monster Hunter if they are watching this video, and Rise is just the better multiplayer experience overall. You can move around the village together, not have your experience broken up by story cutscenes and missions, and most importantly everyone can be on the same starting line.
    Like yeah, your friends with their decked out Amatsu gear would definitely trash your Low Rank beasties, but you aren't missing out on their movement capabilities. You can follow them easily thanks to less cluttered maps, you already have a Palamute instead of needing to unlock a Tailraider through a series of side quests, and the Wirebug is always there to help keep up.
    It really sucked for my friend when he couldn't reach the Legiana nest of the Coral Highlands as fast as me because he didn't have a Tailraider nor knew all the Hook Beetle spots.
    It was just easy for that same friend to hop into a MHRise game with me and get started without feeling gated by not knowing or doing something in their own time. Late-game doesn't matter if they can't get through the slog that is 2/3 of the player experience.

    After playing both rise and world...in my opinion rise is far superior. You don't have annoying tracking mechanics, each weapon has more moves, movement with wirebug is like in every way superior to clutchclaw. Mounting on rise is fun, the cutscenes are not forcing you to watch them and play them single player. It has mounts, better monster variety and lots of quality of lifes that world dont have... gathering spirit birds might be the worse thing about rise but ye world has no chance to rise except graphics. Plus the endgame of world is boring as heck and i hate both alatreon and fatalis...both awful fights compared to rise endgame monsters

      Rise definitely has a better overall endgame monster pool, I'd love to see that sort of system come back! Rise/Sunbreak improved on a lot of World/Iceborne features, I made a separate video on stuff from Rise that should come back in Wilds. However, Worldborne is going to *play* much closer to how Wilds will feel, so that's why I ultimately recommend that, if you *have* to choose, Worldborne will prep you better for playing Wilds overall :D

      Haven't played Rise yet (downloading it now), but MHW is so woefully outdated design-wise it's scary to think it actually only came out in 2018. It's like something from the late 90s or early 2000s. Face-melting amounts of animation lock, half the i-frames on dodge rolls as Souls games, several obnoxious forms of boss cc that they routinely spam as get-out-of-jail-freed cards throughout combat, poorly designed spastic bosses who spam the same area-of-denial attacks constantly or simply launch themselves like a missile, garbage rabbit-hole style menu navigation, over reliance on consumable items, shitty itemization, prohibitive multiplayer functionality, useless Palico AI, meaningless grind... The list goes on and on. And that's not to mention the F-ing clutch claw and how it completely disrupts the flow of combat in almost every fight.

      Wait what are you talking about? It was WAY more "spamming 1-2 moves" in the older games. Especially before MHGen/GenU, GS- literally just hold 1 button, Hammer is either 3-hits golf swing or charged slam, DB just spam demon dance and spinning slash, SnS is just the sword slash combo with some occasional shield bashes, switch axe just only morph to sword mode to do 2 slashes then dodge, Lance/GL literally just 2 types of poke,.... LS and CB are probably the only two had more dynamic in combat, when CB wasn't a SAED spammer and LS was more about spirit bar management not a counter spammer, but still in Rise you have 3 different kinds of counters can use differently after each other and can change your playstyle completely depend on the moves you select.

      For some reason people operate under the assumption you need to do Safi or Kulve to fight Fatalis. You don't. You don't even need ANY Safi or Kulve weapons and armor. Actually I would argue that Safi armor is actually too risky to use in that fight. There are much better options anyway. In terms of Kulve there is the event quest to fight her, you don't have to do the siege. So you can still get her armor (especially the MR Kulve legs they are very good) without ever stepping foot in the siege. Not only that but you can use unwanted Kulve parts at the melder to create Kulve weapons.
      If anything using a Raging Brachy weapon. With a Raging Brachy mix set to get agitator secret is much better against Fatalis than any of the Siege stuff. The only thing that you could argue Siege weapons being optimal is with specifically elemental weapons. Like Dual blades and Bow. Other than that it's Raging Brachy all the way. Heck on my 1st Fatalis kill I was using the Alatreon SnS. I liked it because of it's huge purple sharpness and dragon is basically the only element Fatalis is somewhat weak to. You absolutely do not need to do the siege fights if you don't want to.

      @@chewbacachunks8644 tons of disingenuous peeps when it comes to world, saw some people online exclaiming that world is the only game with rotating events (god forbid they discover that it existed in MH games since its inception) and how world introduced siege monsters, how hateful can one be to spread misinfo like these.
