- The "smooth as butter off of a bone" landing that Capt. Fitzsimmons managed to perform so nicely for American Airlines flight AA99 from London Heathrow LHR to Chicago ORD.
Please be sure to see the BEST takeoffs take offs and landings on UA-cam, all original and filmed by yours truly.
Please enjoy, smart comments only.
Got a lot of respect for the men and women that pilot those planes,one very smooth landing,HATS OFF TO THE PILOTS.
Wow those AA 777 Pilots can really bring those birds down nicely!
Great Video.really enjoyed that landing!
Reminds me of when I flew ACA from EZE to YYZ last month....Both times landing at SCL (in the sun) and at YYZ (in the pouring rain) Captain put it down as smooth as Ive ever seen. Wish I caught his name...hell of an airline.
Those B777 are very nice i cant wait to fly on AA B777 from MIA to LAX in Oct.
Very nice landing!!! Great view over the GE-90-115B
best landing ever
wow that was smooth
By looking at the spiral lanes in the engines u can tell when it goes on reverse.
nice
There is more than one flight per day from LHR to ORD. At 7.45am GMT it is 99. About 3 and 1/2 hours later at 11.15 am GMT it is 47 or 57 (one of them goes from LHR to MIA - I cant remember).
@Aviationnation10
Says you. Try sitting in First class or in the forward part of the cabin - it is always rougher when the landing gear hits the tarmac. It is one of the disadvantages of sitting in First. You can stay in the aft/rear of the cabin if you dont like it.
Made across the Atlantic safely I see....bravo cause its a lot of cold,deep,blue water down there filled with sharks !
Nice video :)
@grassroot3
You are correct. (The landing was completed by the FO). In my enthusiasm I had forgotten about this. I had a long chat with CAPT. Fitzsimmons after we passed through customs and rode the light rail. A most admirable woman who I would have in the left chair any day (she did did the takeoff - which I have posted as well).
I responded to this already. You are correct. But I cant change it because of Google Revenue Sharing rules.
What camera are you using? And how do you get away with using it when they say to turn off all electronic devices?
@emwungarand
As long as you have a passive device - that is a camera that has no wi-fi or internet - like just a camera-camera (not a camera-phone or other such device) then it is perfectly safe to film. The problem is that the flight crew does not have the time to distinguish, so everyone is told to turn off all electronic devies full stop.
On this flight I was in First Class - so sometimes you can get way with it. I also asked the pilot and she okayed it.
the engine is almost in idle
thats not a GE90 it's a RR Trent 892
I waas on the flight. In first class.
Like butter on the bone?/
@emwungarand
I was on this flight, in fist class.
Like butter on the bone????????????
She didn't perform both the takeoff and the landing. First officer did one of them
is A/T works with ILS ?
AAL 99? usually,its 47.
@iJamesPayton
Yes I am from the US (and I was also raised down under - in the country that won teh last RWC 2011- in case you were wondering) As for England - who doesnt like it there? The weather is awful, people on the tube look like the walking dead - but after a few pints at the local - who cares?!?!
really? why so? i always thought that once PF, always PF for the whole trip from takeoff to landing.
really? why is this so? i though that you feel the landing most when sat above the main wheels.
@onecunningfox I Don't have that Kind of money to waste anyway!
far from smooth as butter
booom
