Scotty if you have some time could you help me out? The air filter housing on my 2007 Toyota Camry LE is shaking while idling, what can I do to fix it? Or what might be the problem? Thank you and love you videos super helpfull. Thanks for the knowledge.

I am the original owner of my 2002 Tundra SR5. She is so reliable and can't bear the thought of giving her up. She pulls out faster than newer trucks and cars and actually has better max payload and max tow rating than 2nd generation Tundras. I always feel safer on the road with the old gal.
The reason why Toyota refuses to redesign it because they want it to still be reliable without too much tech! Something that wont break down quickly. Toyota Tundra is something that will get you from point a to point b without issues
I know that I only have 81,000 miles on her but never a problem. My Toyota RAV4 has 112,000 and no problems. I never could say this when I had some of the other brands out there. I do feel that the quality has definitely dropped with the other brands. PS. I do love the look of a Dodge Ram but I just think of all the problems my brother in law is having.
154k on my long bed 07 Tundra and the thing has been bullet proof. I also tow a 9k travel trailer over mountain passes with no issues and good power. I wish they would make a 3/4 or 1 ton version with a diesel. They would be the most reliable heavy duty truck on the planet.
J Sun I have been in Texas for much longer, born and raised, at least 6th generation... ...I won’t wear those things. I find it offensive. I don’t drive cattle. Typically it’s outtastaters that do stuff like that, especially Yankees. Scotty is a Yankee, from NY. He should know better though.
Yes...some features are very dated but overall that’s what I love about it.. modern retro!.. the natural 5.7 V8...the simplicity...the exterior look...love it! If I had the money I’d buy a grey 2021 in a heartbeat...
I may be wrong about this but I think in a mechanic point of view Scotty is referring to the reliability and low maintenance of the truck and not the performance.
I just bought a 2021 !794 Tundra in July 2023 with 2283 miles in Indiana. It has the new truck smell and had spent its first two years in Southern Mississippi so no rust. I has it undercoated in northern Indiana and will renew it every 2 years. I will baby it till I die. I am 78. It's name is cocoa. I have added front and rear anti-sway bars and upgraded brakes. I challenged any standard Chev, Dodge or Ford pickup to a road course run.
They probably bought it just to drive him crazy. I probably would. He’s probably the kind of guy who would obsess about it and rant about it every day, making it well worth the purchase price for the Fiat to just sit there day and night! 😂
I’ve got a 2014 1794 Tundra with the TRD package (VERY RARE) with 95k miles, still like brand new. Just found a shock leaking & considering upgrading the suspension at a 4X4 shop with higher quality components. It tows my very heavy Malibu Ski boat like it’s not there. Best truck I’ve ever driven!
Just bought a 2019 used Toyota Tundra TRD Sport with 31,000 on it ..my first Toyota truck...I really love this truck..rides really nice ..just had a new fuel pump put on and something to make the front bulbs brighter. Thanks Scotty for sharing your videos...great stuff. Stay safe 👍
Hi, Scotty. Toyota make the most reliable trucks in the world. They last a lot of time, with a minimum maintenance. I´m writing from Brazil - in the countryside. I´m a Toyota Hilux 4x4 diesel 2019 model (happy) owner. Here where I live, only Toyota Hilux (we don´t have Tacoma or Tundra in Brazil) and Mitsubishi L200 (Triton) can offer reliability - and Toyota service costs are lower than Mitsubishi´s.
@@marlonwongsy5702 We don´t have Ranger Raptor(or F 150 Raptor) here. I would like even to see one. We don´t have D´Max too - as I see is a very robust one.
That truck is the equivalent of a Ford King Ranch in features, but a huge difference in quality. I should have bought a Tundra over an F-150 King Ranch. Toyotas don't break and if they do, Toyota comes with a warranty more useful than used toilet paper that came with my Ford.
The gas Nissan Titan is another nice truck. The Titans with the Cummins weren’t that great, from what I’ve heard, they were plagued with issues and the fuel economy wasn’t anywhere near the claims. I’ve always liked the V8 Titans, Nissan makes solid trucks but their cars suck, thanks to the CVTs in those. Same with Ford, they make really good V8s but the Ecoboost engines aren’t as good. GM has gotten to where they make decent V8s again but their transmissions seem to slip and shift hard. Rams automatically self destruct after 120,000 miles, especially if you regularly tow or haul with it. Toyota is an all around decent company, if they find an issue they’ll correct it and improve the design. Toyota isn’t constantly cramming new technology in the consumer's face every few years. They come up with an engine or transmission design then perfect it and keep it for 10+ years.
Cummins is one of the best Diesel engines in the world, Nissan can’t compete with Cummins in any ways possible, you can say that Diesel engines are expensive that I agree, but Nissan will never in a million years can come close to an American Cummins engine.
Dude Nissan uses cummins. He's talking about the cummins powered Titan which is widely considered to be trash. Not competitor vehicles with cummins motors.
When my F150 started having problems with the drive-train at 15,000 miles I sold it and bought a Tundra. 165,000 miles later, it still drives like new.
There’s a good chance I hauled the seat frames for this truck from Seymour Indiana to San Antonio to the seat vendor on the Toyota site there. That was my dedicated run in my semi for nearly a year. Beautiful truck!
I have the same *1794* edition and I couldn't be happier! I replaced my 2003 Tundra that ran forever with no problems. But the interior actually sold me on this truck, it's beautiful and everyone compliments me on it. The salesman called it the Cowboy Lexus interior. lol
Tundra resale is INCREDIBLE. I purchased my 2014 Tundra CrewMax 4x4 in 2015 for $37k and just sold it for $35k. So I had an ultra reliable V8 pickup for 5 years for nearly free. Now have a little Leaf for work.
My 2008 was a decent truck..... 168k, front hubs replacements, started burning oil w/ blue smoke, trans slipping, and I didn't abuse it. I pulled a few 3/4 tons out of being stuck, it was a solid truck overall. Mileage was about 13 city and 16 hwy. Hopefully the newer ones improved, 2007 and 2008 models had a recall for the valve train issues. If Toyota ever imports a true 3/4 ton diesel, I'm there. Went to a 2012 Ram 2500 Mega cab w/ Cummins and love it. 250k and its still running strong.
The Tundra, and I don’t have one, is the quietest, smoothest riding pickup ever. I drive a 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins. Love it. But that Tundra ride....damn
My 2019 Silverado leaked right away. It’s a known issue. Back window leaks. Brand new truck and it has water coming in ? Seriously ? I have a 94 Toyota pickup and it doesn’t leak. I’m waiting for the new tundra to come out. I hope there is a v8 with some solid new tech inside. I drive a Ford F-150 at work. It’s ok. We haul in them and no issues 40k later and we are rough on them. If no v8 option as rumored on the tundra I will go this way.
I have a 2015 F-150 60,000 miles runs great. I love my truck but I gotta say I do trust Toyota. Had a 2004 Highlander that I put approx 150,000 miles with no issues. Gonna be another truck in a few years will be a hard choice between a Tundra or another F-150.
I was a GM guy for sure. I had a Tahoe. A hummer. I was excited to get my first Silverado. It hauled. It was nice. But it leaked and I felt the paint was cheap.
When Scotty said call up the junk yards and showed the picture of the Chevy dealer i laughed out loud so bad my dogs looked at me funny. Thanks Scotty!
I had a 2013 Tundra for a work truck. Most of my driving was on the freeways. I never got better than 8.5 mph with it. The gas and brake pedals were very jittery and the dealer said that that was the way they are. Visibility was poor due to the large A pillars and the height. It blew white smoke out of the right bank from the day I got it new and yet it never used oil. I will say it had real power and was totally reliable.
Fj cruiser 2013 and still running! Long trips off road and everything works still everything! 82k miles and still has almost a 30k resale. Bought a Camry 2018 the new body style and it is a champ! The only thing is I wish they had softer seats but that is my taste.
I've had 3 Tundras the last and current is a 2020 TRD Sport best one yet. One solid and dependable truck with tons of power. Pulls a 32 ' Travel Trailer and a 21' Center Console no problem at all towing either.
oh well, I drive a 1500 RAM V8 2013 with over 170K km and it still going strong. I guess all boils down in how you actually drive and maintain your cars.
@@paulb.1538 I've got a 2011 platinum with 147 km on the odo. Typical wear stuff goes out and is expensive to fix but the drive train is bullet proof. Runs like new.
I’ve had two Toyota pick up and you could beat the hell out of them. Both truck were over 10 years old. I made the mistake of taking advantage of my last tundras great resale value and traded it in for a Ram. Nothing but issue with a 2017 Ram. Most people don’t like tundras because they are outdated but I’ll do anything to go back to knowing i won’t be left stranded.
I'm seeing alot of loaded F-150 XLTs and Lariats from the early 2010s going for nearly 10k right now.. I just don't see the point in spending 60k on a truck.
@@taisking7599 i've heard about the 5.4l 3v problems in the mid-late 00s models. Definitely would like to avoid those. Thing is personally i'd like an F-150 with the flareside aaand I just found out they stopped making them in 09. Most that i've seen have the 5.4
If you can, go for the 5.0. Im a Ford guy myself. My last f150 was an 03 with the 5.4 2v. Pretty solid truck. Had an 08 f150 5.4 3v. Constant misfire issues and it threw a rod at 150k miles. My last work truck was an 06 f150 5.4 3v. That f'ing truck was in the shop 14 times in one year. Mostly due to the spark plugs and coil packs. Also the cam phasers. All 3 of the trucks had rear end replacement 120k+. Makes me wonder if Ford had rear end problems. My new f150 is the 2016 3.5 eco boost. Love it.

I am the original owner of my 2002 Tundra SR5. She is so reliable and can't bear the thought of giving her up. She pulls out faster than newer trucks and cars and actually has better max payload and max tow rating than 2nd generation Tundras. I always feel safer on the road with the old gal.
How many miles on it? DO NOT SELL. Got the 2003. Feel very fortunate. What a truck. Mine has 190k miles.

@@stephensantiago603 you might wanna check on that head gasket recall Toyota just had. Lol
At least, the exhaust won't break in a month or so
I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra that still runs great - I change the oil and put gas in it - Never had a problem with it!
I LOVE MINE AND NEVER LETTING HER GO
The reason why Toyota refuses to redesign it because they want it to still be reliable without too much tech!

I admire Scotty for his honesty, knowledge, great spirit and his humor,I wish him all the luck 🌹
154k on my long bed 07 Tundra and the thing has been bullet proof. I also tow a 9k travel trailer over mountain passes with no issues and good power. I wish they would make a 3/4 or 1 ton version with a diesel. They would be the most reliable heavy duty truck on the planet.
I bought a 08 Tundra last year with 45k miles on it. Couldn’t be happier with the truck and the purchase.

I like the Tundra, but they sure get horrible gas milage.
This is obviously a toyota commercial
I just bought a 2021 !794 Tundra in July 2023 with 2283 miles in Indiana. It has the new truck smell and had spent its first two years in Southern Mississippi so no rust. I has it undercoated in northern Indiana and will renew it every 2 years. I will baby it till I die. I am 78. It's name is cocoa. I have added front and rear anti-sway bars and upgraded brakes. I challenged any standard Chev, Dodge or Ford pickup to a road course run.

Wow, good catch! I didn't even notice that.
His neighbor knows that they can count on Scotty for repairing jobs always while improving the neighborhood relationship.
They probably bought it just to drive him crazy. I probably would. He’s probably the kind of guy who would obsess about it and rant about it every day, making it well worth the purchase price for the Fiat to just sit there day and night! 😂

Tundra's are great, tough, reliable, fast, they pass everything but gas stations. Thirstiest truck we had on the job site by far.
It's not the truck, it's how hard you press the gas pedal....My 2018 Tundra SR5 gave more than 20 m/g loaded with about 1000 lbs at 75 m/h...

Fun fact: Toyota Tacomas are basically Americanized Hiluxes 🙂 cheers from Florida !
@Mitch Unhappily we don´t have D´Max in Brazil. Ranger and Amarok show some problems here - engine, electrical, etc.
@@marlonwongsy5702 We don´t have Ranger Raptor(or F 150 Raptor) here. I would like even to see one. We don´t have D´Max too - as I see is a very robust one.
That exhaust costs more than most of Scotty's cars.

Toyota + truck + TRD = Scotty’s in love.
That truck is the equivalent of a Ford King Ranch in features, but a huge difference in quality. I should have bought a Tundra over an F-150 King Ranch. Toyotas don't break and if they do, Toyota comes with a warranty more useful than used toilet paper that came with my Ford.
That thing’s a BEAST
You may not know it Scotty, but I value your analysis very much. Thank you.

Not competitor vehicles with cummins motors.
i own the same truck , except mine is 2015 and just an SR5. going strong with 70k miles. its a nice truck, easy to drive and park.
When my F150 started having problems with the drive-train at 15,000 miles I sold it and bought a Tundra. 165,000 miles later, it still drives like new.

I can finally see the camera he's been talking into. I always thought he just magically conjured a portal with his hands to talk to us lol

Because gm sucks now! And I was a GM guy NO MORE!
I will not buy a tundra if they get rid of the v8 as well.

8.5 that’s nuts something was wrong with that truck I have a tundra and a land cruiser both with the 5.7 and both get around 15mpg.
Fj cruiser 2013 and still running! Long trips off road and everything works still everything! 82k miles and still has almost a 30k resale. Bought a Camry 2018 the new body style and it is a champ! The only thing is I wish they had softer seats but that is my taste.
Just bought a 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, I love it. Glad to see a review from you on one Scotty!
