Getting your bass drum pedal beater angle set properly can be detrimental to your drumming if done incorrectly.

I'm getting back to drumming after a 5 year break due to space in my house issues. This is exactly what I need, this channel is great!
Glad to be of help James! 🤘
Oh crap I'm coming back since 2007 or so lol 😅
Nice videos bro! Keep the great work up and never quit drumming! 💪 👍🔥
Ty needed this info
Very helpful. Thanks.
Great tutorial
Thank you for this tutorial 😊
You’re welcome 😊
So awesome! 🤙🏼
Glad you think so!
Thanks Cameron, great to hear from you. Excellent advice as usual, you're a great teacher. More videos please, they are so helpful. Quick question, l have DW 9000 pedals, is the long board version easier to attain higher BPM? Thanks for your time and all you do for us drummers.
They're both more than suitable to attain higher tempos with your feet. Have you picked up the double bass drumming mini course? There are plenty of exercises in there for you to implement into your regime. My gift to you: academy.cameronfleury.com
Excelent master.
Hey thanks so much!
nice man
I've been playing death metal with one pedal for 2 years now cause I don't have money. But I recently got a double pedal and it has been a struggle, my left leg just doesn't want to work and I didn't know the right settings for them but now I know more thank you🤘
Happy to help!
Death metal with one pedal? So Mastodon lol
Awesome video as always. I appreciate your videos.
You're very welcome Mark!
I just can't seem to have my legs used to play with only calves. I can't get to that "constant" beater swing. But found that by placing the beaters way back could be a good way to practice the swing without actually hiting the skin and store the muscle memory. What do you think?
I've a question, do you use triggers for the sound? Just wondering. Like of the pedal is closer i guess you have less sound then when its further away. Unless i guess with a trigger to keep a sound.
This is exactly what I needed to dial in on My chain drive Speed Cobras.
I think I can accomplish this technique better now.
Thanks Cam 🤘🏼
Glad to be of any help!
Dude me too. I literally just finally realized this at 4:00 am after having my new Speed Cobras Blackouts for a year now smh.
What's the name of those beaters?
Perfect vid lesson Cameron , Do you have a link to those beaters you are using?
They're axis beaters I believe
since the other dude was wrong 10 months ago, they're lowboy beaters. i have the exact same pair, can customize them in any color tho
I am looking to add some weight to my beaters. should I bother with weights like you have in this vid, are should I get a heavier beater like Danmar?
The weights on the beater itself can be slid up or down. Placing them higher up will give you the feeling of a heavier beater throw. The choice is yours. I always recommend exploring to see what works best for you.
What beaters are those
Hey, cool shirt, I lived right by there for years hah!
Place is great! Staff are awesome too.
Hi cameron. Can gou the double with iron cobra? If you can do it, please share the pedal setting. Thank you
You know, I haven't! The technique may remain the same. Would definitely need to explore before sharing results.
@@CameronFleury aaah i will wait it so bad. Im frustrated because i cant do the double on iron cobra, and i cant afford long board/high end pedal. :(
@@CameronFleury btw thank you for your reply. Have a good day
Hi Cameron, are you still teaching double base classes ?
There is a course up in the academy. You can also find and book time for 1 on 1 coaching here: academy.cameronfleury.com
I don’t understand how people can do the heel toe technique with half their foot hanging off the board… I’ve tried it SEVERAL TIMES and I can’t get a kick on the heel down stroke but if I put my foot on the whole board I can do it pretty good… I have the DW 9002 pedal. Maybe cause I don’t have the long board edition?!
Hey, Is it some sort of grip on your board? What's that exactly? Thanks
its grip tape! Custom made with my band logo.
@@CameronFleury very cool! Cheers
Are you using triggers? No judgement, because I get it when it gets fast it can just sound boomy. Just wanted to know.
Yes I am
I love putting my beaters close to the skin ( not like you shown) but i feel like everybody say that this is not the good angle
my bass drum beater doesn’t hit flat on the batter head because of the riser increasing the distance between the pedal and the batter head . How can I fix this?
Make sure your bass drum is sitting flat. Have a look at your spurs and see if you can't lower them to straighten out the angle of the bass drum head. If not, you'll have to put something under the back of your pedal (near the heel block).
Do some "If it's play" but it's Shannon Larkin
Going to add that to the list.
I need ur help my pedal is moving each time I hit it and it hits slowly and it doesn't do alot of sound plss notice me
Send me a short video in an email: cameron@cameronfleury.com
You're adjusting BOTH the beater angle AND the footboard angle.
do you play on high tension?
Medium/high
I can't help but laugh everytime someone says calve muscle, brain automatically thinks of Cav as in Butt Cavity. Been on too much Samus lately, Great video though mate. Helped a lot
So 45 degrees would be a good all around position, especially for beginners
Precisely! For all playing levels.
Someone has been listening to Elitist, lol.

You Gotta stop apologizing and saying everything might be different from you than it is me I think everybody knows that it's like you're concerned that somebody might have a bad thought about you because you talk about it don't worry about it just say that works for me and that's it and let it go set a repeating yourself through the whole entire video what works for you works for me yeah yeah yeah yeah
