Scent & Chemistry just posted about this scent - described it using " Nimberol-santal accord " - Nimberol you can look up is a synthetic accord of woods and amber, including giving the impressions of vetiver, sandalwood cedar, and amber. The Santal part I am presuming I was correct in thinking it was a synthetic sandalwood.
I am glad that you are keeping it real with your reviews Peter. Don't sugar coat anything to appease an unhappy minority. I respect you more for giving your honest opinion. You do a good job of explaining why you don't like a fragrance. The things that you dislike may not bother another person (sometimes it is even a selling point). For example, when you said although you like Oud Satin Mood it smells a bit feminine to you so you don't wear it often, it made me (a woman) want to try it more. Great playing once again. Thanks for adding that in at the end.
Thank you for your sincere review. I think that Alessandro Gualtieri just wanted to trigger people to buy this fragrance giving this name. I tried different fragrances from this Orto Parisi line, and for me, all are too "Niche". I think that there are a lot of fragrances that are much more complex, that can surprise you in a pleasant way.
This scent is amazing. But unfortunately it actually does smell like feces on different people. On my skin it’s a sweet, mellow tobacco. Dry warm and assertive! Thanks for the review
I love Stercus which is a dank woody dirty animalic and also like Seminalis which is a perfect rendition of clean, sweet sweaty bodies writhing together.
I prefer negative reviews than enthusiastic one. UA-cam is full of enthusiastic people about almost everything. Sometime I'm not that sure they are 100% authentic. You already said you don't like Boccanera. It's ok. Nobody like it. I bought it anyway. To me its dirty/chocolate vibe is appropriate while wearing a brown leather jacket, more than Tuscan Leather. I suppose Gualtieri has some fun while naming its creations. Seminalis doesn't smell like sperm at all. Probably I'll buy it. Probably I'll buy Viride as well. I agree with you about Stercus. Nothing special... but it's quite subjective
Thank you for this review! I am not driven towards the hyped taste fragrances. I prefer to explore things that are more unusual. I was very curious about this, specially the name, and you clarified it all for me! This is much appreciated. Great review! I am always up to hear about products that are interesting, yet not popular. Very nice job!
I have no interest in this fragrance. So at the end when I’m about to click away, I almost missed the best part. It was really nice. Totally enjoyed it.
Helpful review to try and make sense of Stercus. I recently sampled Zoologist Hyrax, and would have expected something named Stercus to smell like Hyraceum, also called African Stone, which honestly earns the name. If Stercus was released as a play on words for a truly crappy fragrance, I would be disappointed in Orto Parisi.
I have Hraceum tincture, it smells more like wet rocks.. not unpleasant, I think the foul smell in Hyrax is probably coming from Civet, all though I've never smelled that Zoologist yet
Good observation and correction, thanks, Peter! I am surprised, then, that the synthetic castoreum and synthetic civet are so strong to me as to overpower whatever amount of hyraceum is in it to my nose. It’s much stronger than either Beaver or Civet is from the same line. PM me and I can send to you my samples of whichever ones you don’t have.
Thanks again Peter. Great review, Always interesting. Incidentally I went to the Esxence Niche trade exposition in Milano earlier in the year and I came across the Affinessence brand. Their Ambegris Musk and the Patchouli Oud in their Base Notes range seem to be beautifully composed. I wondered if you had heard of them?
Wow Peter, I was away from the screen when you started playing and I swore it was Carlos Santana... I saw it was an Ibanez! You wouldn't be running it on a Mesa amp as well are you?
I tried Stercus and a few of its stable mates. Stercus was nice, nothing offensive or controversial, much less fecal. At $185 US, forget it! That’s alot of money for something that synthetic smelling. So, I too skipped this one.
i appreciate and i'm all for creative marketing, but I'm not sure I understand their approach with this brand. I think that's probably the most unappealing brand image i've ever come across as far as niche perfumes are concerned. If the perfumer were amazing at what he does then maybe I could look pass the that, but unfortunately that's not really the case either. I've heard "Pardon" being praised before but I haven't tried it myself.
I own Pardon from Nasomatto, I don't love it as much as I used to.. but I think it's the best from both brands.. his best work IMO.. most might say Black Afgano is though. Pardon is certainly one of the most broader appealing and easier to wear...
Very interesting review Peter. I have always been aware of this brand and the concept of drawing inspiration from the smell of various aspects of the human body is something novel and interesting. However, from whatever I’m hearing this brand seems of have nothing going for it. No wonder, the creator being the same Alessandro Gaultieri of black afgano, pardon and duro, all of which to my nose were rather boring and pedestrian. Interestingly, some of the more musky animalic fragrances like Musc Kublai Khan, and Peau De Bete (which has scatol listed as an ingredient), to my nose are incredibly sexy, sophisticated and truly desirable.
I thought stercus meant scrotum . No kidding , BUTTTTTT (noun declension: 3rd declension gender: masculine *Definitions: filth, manure* ) _So no shit Peter, you weren't kidding_ GFD , I just split my dinner all over the carpet. I sampled a few from this line . Bergamask was the one I sampled the most. You can pick it up here in the US/States for $127 . Myself, I still have the samples so I won't be ordering it. Everyone seems to love Bergamask. When I sampled it , people said they could smell me from a distance. I did ask a few people what they thought and _POLITELY SAID_ , " Oh that's nice , what was the other one you were wearing the other day/last week . I like that one better " . That was the general conciseness of it . _What else do you have Senoir_ . For me Bergamask was somewhat harsh and stale . I haven't sampled it for a couple years. The other ones I've sampled are Brutus , I think that's the one that was way to much, Bocconera , Seminalis . Jesus , I don't even want to remember the color Seminalis now . Maybe it means stinky sweet spit . Anyways , there was one of those I mentioned that was just way to much. I think I liked Bergamask the most , but I really don't remember. I thought this house was related to Nasomatto ? I have a couple from them. I didn't pay full retail though. Oh, if anyone in the US wants a bottle of Beramask, here's the link for $127 . www.fragrancenet.com/fragrances/orto-parisi/orto-parisi-bergamask/parfum?gclid=Cj0KCQjwv-DaBRCcARIsAI9sba-dMIUJhMtCPvBZ0uU2d8P7djCzZj57fJVcwbGbCsg4j4rTQQ0u_xEaArv9EALw_wcB&mv_pc=gawus_pla_c_g_185766920_297125 Cool review. Let's do so more from the whacky ones .
Peter, How much would you sell me your Pharaoh for in the middle of your fragrance cabinet ? Enjoyed your guitar solo even if you won’t sell it to me :)
Before I try this I kind of expecting it to be niche quality, but I was in store this weekend and had exactly the same feeling! The first thing I told my friend from perfume community is the quality is really bad. I can't tell you how relieve I am when I see this video. Thanks for the unbiased review!!!
Great, honest, unpretentious review. Thanks. I’m a great fan of this fragrance and also the philosophy behind the Orto Parisi collection. I don’t think this is supposed to smell like fecal matter. Rather that Gualtieri was inspired by intimate areas of the body plus it’s fluids and excretions. It’s not supposed to be a literal representation of those animal scents. Of course you’re right that it could also be a prank on us perfume fans who use it after having fallen for the trap of “if it’s expensive it must be good”. What I like about Alessandro Gualtieri is that he dares to be different, without giving a damn about what anyone thinks. Stercus is not a beautiful perfume; it’s more of a challenge of the senses than a work of aromatic excellence. But its strong presence will definitely get you noticed.
If i was you i would just say this perfume in not worth the price, instead of an almost 13 min video 😂 and to me i know it’s not even worth $40 .. haha .. i dislike these type of scents anyway
Scent & Chemistry just posted about this scent - described it using " Nimberol-santal accord " - Nimberol you can look up is a synthetic accord of woods and amber, including giving the impressions of vetiver, sandalwood cedar, and amber. Great playing once again. Thanks for adding that in at the end.
Thank you!
Love Stercus! Imo it's the best in the genre from Gualtieri. Better than Black Afgano in my opinion.
Gad you enjoy it!
Hi Peter, I really like this fragrance but I appreciate your sincerity, I admire you because of that. Cheers.
Cheers Antonio

Brilliant branding yeah? Digging deep into the mysteries of Uranus. lol Really appreciated your take Peter. Informative!
lol
Appreciate your honesty and transparency, Peter. Great vast wealth of knowledge.
And that ending!🤘🤘
Cheers man
Quite expensive for...well, you know. Love your honesty and sharing of your knowledge. Really enjoyed the music!
Thanks!
Thank you for your honest and detailed review. I love watching you break down a fragrance. Its fascinating!
Thanks Jasmine
This scent is amazing. But unfortunately it actually does smell like feces on different people. On my skin it’s a sweet, mellow tobacco. Dry warm and assertive! Thanks for the review
Cheers
Thank you.The comparison to the both daring of gucci .......makes it sound interesting
Thanks
Thanks for the honest review, Peter! I really like the pic's in the background from your travels, too.
Thank you!
I love Stercus which is a dank woody dirty animalic and also like Seminalis which is a perfect rendition of clean, sweet sweaty bodies writhing together.
Glad you like it
I love Stercus as well, and on my skin it doesn't smell designer at all. And it's also a beast! - longevity and projection are excellent!
I suggest a renaming: Jizz pour homme!
I prefer negative reviews than enthusiastic one. UA-cam is full of enthusiastic people about almost everything. Sometime I'm not that sure they are 100% authentic. Sorry the sound quality isn't great, I should have set up my condenser studio mic... I'll do it properly next time!
FragranceView It's Lovely , Really Enjoyed ; Okay Next Time More Awesomeness 🎼 🎵 🎶

Read about the guitar outro stuff in the comments while watching the video; wasn't expecting Opeth. I love you man
I have no interest in this fragrance. So at the end when I’m about to click away, I almost missed the best part. It was really nice. Totally enjoyed it.
hehe, surprise.. thanks!

PS - No, I'm not connected in any way with them! :>) but I do have their sample set.
I've not heard of them no! sounds interesting
There are SO many! I just cant stop smelling the Ambergris Musk
Wow Peter, I was away from the screen when you started playing and I swore it was Carlos Santana... I saw it was an Ibanez! You wouldn't be running it on a Mesa amp as well are you?
Sadly not no.... it's a Fender Mustang
Novelty, not Niche? Interesting review. Thanks.
Maybe yes
Says the legend that Alessandro Gautieri’s secret base is a huge concentration of javanol (like 40% or something like that)
I love when you toss in a little jam session in the reviews. If I saw a fragrance titled "shit" I'd run the other way. Cheers!
Cheers! bit of a strange name choice isn't it
have you tried creed viking yet? also curious if youve tried any hermes aswell.
I have, it's not for me
Smelled pretty much all of Hermes
Always enjoy your videos Peter I'm still waiting to try Albatross but bills come first sadly 👍
I got the HOM sample box set. Great to try them all. I think it was still 80 bucks incl. postage though. Albatross was in there. It is great.
Don't feel like you have to spend loads of money to smell good... plenty of people don't like Matriarch, they're not everyones taste
I tried Stercus and a few of its stable mates. Stercus was nice, nothing offensive or controversial, much less fecal. At $185 US, forget it! That’s alot of money for something that synthetic smelling. So, I too skipped this one.
Apparently it's a bit cheaper in the US... but when I looked it up here, it's expensive
The question is: When are you going to do a haul video? 😂. Thanks, Peter.
I'll leave that to the pro addicts
Do you like any Hermes fragrance ?
Everyday Products I’d be curious to know as well! I love Hermès fragrances. I love their Eau De Cologne collection. I own all of them!
Wonder if he likes Terre D'Hermes and Bel Ami
Those are quality scents
I don't mind a few... nothing that makes me go crazy though
i appreciate and i'm all for creative marketing, but I'm not sure I understand their approach with this brand. Nothing jumped out at me from the line on quick sniff
Only smelled two from them
Greetings from Texas. Beautiful music, Peter. Forget that bland fragrance.
Thank you Rebecca
Really enjoy your videos Peter.
Thanks Ann!
Great great video and review as always Peter:)
Cheers Ryan, hope you're doing well

there's a boat for everyone I guess, this one is just sailing in a different direction to where I wanna go
I like the end - great tune... and interesting review
Thank you, it's a song by Opeth called Ending Credits
I thought stercus meant scrotum . No kidding , BUTTTTTT

I have a couple from them. I didn't pay full retail though.

Cool review.
Let's do so more from the whacky ones .
Cousin of Nasomatto, same nose obviously
OK, got it.
That was nice! Thank you.
Thanks
Peter, How much would you sell me your Pharaoh for in the middle of your fragrance cabinet ? Enjoyed your guitar solo even if you won’t sell it to me :)
I bought it in Cairo outside the gates to the pyramids at Giza, wouldn't sell it..
living for these outros ❤👌
Thank you! :)

no problem :)
i disagree. its super unique. it smells like standing in a suit in a cowshed
He seems to prefer basic beginner fragrances
Great review.
Thanks
Real is the only way to be!
Pretty much!
Top Notes
leather - tobacco
Heart Notes
woody notes
Base Notes
castoreum
I didn't like this one either. Bravo on the guitar skills! I knew you were something serious when I saw the drums in the background, lol!
Thanks!
Came for the Ending Credits :)
;)
Great, honest, unpretentious review. Thanks. I’m a great fan of this fragrance and also the philosophy behind the Orto Parisi collection.

great huice but very challenging and quite animalic
I don't find it animalic at all
how abot squnqkie...
I dislike this whole house to be honest.
Only tried two!
If i was you i would just say this perfume in not worth the price, instead of an almost 13 min video 😂 and to me i know it’s not even worth $40 .. haha .. i dislike these type of scents anyway
well yeah probs, but then it's a 30 second video with no detailed information
wtf is this promo lmao that hole
Suggestive huh
I’m not sure I’d wear anything called shit.
lol
Real Sandalwoods can smell like 💩 😂 sometimes.
A good quality one will never smell bad
lmao yeah I was gonna say! Smells like buttery popcorn
