Gorgeous review brother,I haven’t tried many from this house but man I have so much respect for this guy,it’s super hard to come up with a style in perfumery and still manage to make great stuff,Roja wishes he had a style,I wish he did though maybe he would’ve stopped copying other ppls work! But yea this guy makes complex stuff.. wonderful video mate
I took Orto Parisi Seminalis into work for a friend to smell. We were trying to keep it away from another co-worker who has lots of allergies. Anyway, I work in a hospital, where we’re not supposed to have perfume or strong scents on in the first place, and it somehow ended up getting on the keyboard or seat or something at the nurses station, and it was just WAFTING! There must have been some kind of vortex with the ventilation, cause just down the hall, you could smell it really intensely, and we kept walking through it. The next day I came back, and could STILL smell it there! Nothing like smelling SEMINALIS on a Labor and Delivery unit 😂😂😂
I loved this review. Orto actually means garden, but bocca nera means black mouth (as well as a metaphor for the hole you mentioned), so I think you got it totally right
Yea, orto in italian means garden, like not a garden of flower but a garden where you grow vegetables (btw I’m from italy) but Orto means exactly buthole in Spanish, he just mistaked the language. Ramsey would really love Terroni, Stercus and Seminalis. Really controversial names hahah Gualtieri is a genius artist and a more genius marketer. I love that man
Also just backed up Givenchy gentlemen before this video lol I have 2 silver cap antaeus but I think ur right. 3 bottles is perfect think of it as a back up to the back up paid $100 for 100ml gg I don’t think u can get better value than that thanks ram u seriously put me on 😊
For sure... GG Gentleman from 74 and Antaeus are worth the extra backup bottle... usually one back up bottle is enough... but for these RARE bread perfumes sometimes 3 backups is called for 🤔😂😂😂
Never sniffed any from this house, just never come across them tbh. Also the fact i generally sniff test in stores rather than buy samples.... because yes I admit it, I'm a tight Yorkshireman! 😆 Strangelove nyc 100ml bottles are $915! for an EDP!! that's unacceptable pricing imo
I didnt realize they were that high... I will never buy them at that price tbh ...SMH I normally dont buy samples either Andy... maybe I have some of that cheap tight Yorkshireman blood too 😆
Nice Video Ram..I LOVE how you prop the display cases(aka mini coffins)halfway opened with the bottles in them and full presentation and all..nice and looks FANCY!!!..Ive gotta make myself some warm tea and and make sure I hold my "pinky out"in honor of Mr "fancy pants Ramsey" just for YOU!!lol jk buddy.. hope all is well..good seeing you again on today video. ✌️
@@InterceptorOfDoom Hi Stanislav. Viride is very heavy....and more woody than green (dry grass). It's a little bit sharp and will remind you on laboratory. In any case, it's abstract scent. I would like to send you at least 10 ml. Where are you from ?
@@RamseytheRam now that you'll have all of them I look forward to reviews of Megamare, Bergamask and Terroni -- I've seen reviews of others but those are "mainstream" reviewers ($$$), you're one of the good guys. Dušan Ninić an what's your opinion on those?
It's interesting that you like Gaultierie's work. I tried all of them, both Orto Parisi and Nasomatto, and to me they are diagonaly different to the classics. Forcing only a few ingredients, overdosing the synthetic sandalwood/ musk combo. They all seem unfinished to me, but you'll only get that once you start wearing them daily. But that's just me...
I think it's more akin to avoiding the traditional french way to compose perfumes. He does away with the pyramidic style altogether. He and josh lobb (slumberhouse) just do things differently. They do what they want. I think Alessandro Gualtieri is doing his own thing in his way, it's still masterful and blended excellently in my opinion. It took me a total of 2 or 3 years to come around to loving Fantomas, and megamare, but I plan to buy Fantomas at some point. Very Avant Garde, yet lovely. There are lots of naturals in some of them, but it again, depends. But I'd say try and give him a chance again, but patience haha
I really enjoyed wearing it yesterday... i want to try the rest of the line before commiting to a full bottle but this and Stercus are on the potentials list 😊
Have you seen the movie White Noise? The train crash situation with the black cloud of chemicals is EXACTLY what’s in that movie! I guess movies sometimes predict the future ;) I enjoy Boccanera, as well as Brutus and Seminalis
I heard about that movie! But no I dont watch hollywood anymore ... Tired of the "woke" narrartive being shoved in my movies and TV shows since no one believes a damn word of the news anymore... sad because I used to like movies... F hollywood 🖕
Good morning Ramsey. I don't know where to start. I want to add some Citrus and oud frags to my collection but don't have the cash to just blind buy.not complaining. I'd like to find a cool sample set of Citrus and Oud fragrances but don't know what frags to look for. I'm trying to find something similar to the Mandarin orange, grapefruit & Kyara wood /oud in the Polo Big pony #4. Something about it i just like. But spicier and more interesting ? I
Gets compared with JHAG's Into the Void which I still have a decant of. That one a dark, almost date-like sweet floral that really opened up my mind back in 2016. Got me into florals. I have a very distinct scent memory associated with it too. But doesn't orto mean garden in Italian? 🫑🥬 As in...Parisi's garden? Or do I have that wrong as I scratch my itchy purple orto? 👄Interesting discussion on symbology.
Ram Ram! just a correction if you dont mind. Orto in italian its a 'vegetable garden'. 'Hole' in italian is 'Buco'. So the literal translation of Orto Parisi would be smthing like Parisian Garden.
@@RamseytheRam UPDATE: "The brand is inspired by the garden located in Puglia («orto» which means «garden» in Italian) where the creator spent his summers together with his grandfather, Mr Parisi. Orto Parisi affirms that our body is experienced as a garden, and its smells are a true mirror of our soul." I was tricked by the derivation of the word "Parisi" which i tought at to do with Parigi (Paris). Aparently Parisi is a common surname in Sicilia, Mr. Parisis garden aparently was the inspiration to the grandson creations.
There is a little bit of that for sure with the dark chocolate.... its nice ... i dont know about a full bottle though... i gotta think about that one... stercus is higher up on the full bottle list still 🤔
