This is a common practice amongst majority of factory distillers. and the purpose for this is to increase yield the reason they soak the wood shavings, in water is to soften the fibres in order to draw out as much oil as possible. This kind of practice is slowly changing, and they are adopting new and more hygienic methods of doing things.

Marcelo! You are truly the Rod Serling of fragrance reviews. Your erudite Twilight Zone-like commentary on fragrance is unique and second to none. I sampled Cuoium awhile back and liked it very much. You may be correct about this fragrance being the last one in the Orto Parisi line. Who knows? I'm sure Alessandro Gaultieri is far from "over". Like other scents in this particular line, they may not be for everyone but grow in stature over time. As I've said many times, Viride had me from the word go. So did Brutus and Terroni. testing this today, and oh my what a fragrance. powerful, raw and beautiful. also, this bottle is gorgeus. one of the nicest bottles I’ve seen. I keep my fragrances in a cool, dark place, but if I do end up buying a full bottle of this, I’ll probably keep it on display in my living room lol! this is my second favourite of the Orto Parisi line I’ve tried so far, just behind Terroni.

Another world class review! Together with Megamare, these are the very best of the collection for me. Both are beautiful powerhouse beasts! The difference is the dry down - while Megamare is kicking noses around, this one is more personal and gentle to everybody around you. Very pure and bold leather fragrance, but still very sensual. Nevertheless you need some practice to wear this thing. It suits the bold and confident wearer! I myself am still not sure in buying a whole bottle and go for samples (shy face)

It’s funny that the first time I smelled it on me I instantly thought of Black Afgano but on steroids- funny how later I found out it’s the same nose behind it! Gualtieri is a rockstar of perfumes! This particular perfume is an experience by itself, it’s going to take you places and give you powerful flashbacks. For me it’s a travel back to my grandpa’s workshop as somehow it smells like burned rosin, leather and it reminds me of an animal smell I can’t quite put my hands on where I last “found” it. Even if marketed as a unisex perfume, it’s more of a male fragrance that sits well on women also. I recommend a light hand while spraying it, as it’s a fragrance that needs to be discovered, not something to make you be easily to spot. The two sprays you did quite scared me as I know how potent this little bottle can be.🫣 Looking forward on experiencing more of Gualtieri, as I am fond on everything I had from him and I trully recommend it as a signature perfume for a person that is into niche perfumes with a dark, woody, leathery twist to it. Good for smokers as it compliments the smell of tobacco.

You sold me on the fragrance. Leather is my favorite scent. Very well done review. But the symbol on the cap is just a cobbler’s anvil. 😅 not a triscule 😂😂 shoes are made of leather. That anvil symbolizes leather craftsmanship
i just tried it for the first time, i don’t really get a fecal note at all, but rather light animalics. for me it’s mostly a deep leather, those light animalics, cigarette/tobacco ash, smoke, and an amber reminiscent of BR540. To my nose it dries down into a smoky amber, slightly floral, sweet smell.
Piano, Piano on this one Vincenzo....I would work up to this powerful fragrance. If I was building up to this with the Orto Parisi perfumes I would go: Brutus Viride Boccanera Cuoium This will bring you into the magic💫 Great to hear from you my friend

I've seen several reviews of Cuoium and nobody has pointed out the repulsive yet amazing quality this fragrance brings to the table. Personally I love it!. We don't get the Akro brand in Australia so I haven't really experienced this brand properly. I have to agree with you @Lucignolo; this is a fragrance for 'you'....if you rock up to a party wearing this, I think you'll scare everyone. I actually love traveling with this perfume. If I'm going interstate on my own, then Cuoium is my traveling companion....lasts forever. A recommendation is to layer this fragrance with a citrus, it changes the dimension of this perfume and works if I'm now meeting someone. I like using either Neroli Oranger by Matiere Premiere or Acancia di Sicilia by Perris Monte Carlo Spray Cuoium first; wait 3-4 hours and then spray the other on top....MAGIC!💫 Great to hear from you my friend👊🏽

Yep, it's a genuine question. The funny thing...yes But it's not for everyone. As I mentioned in this episode it's a big 'no' from my wife. There's no way that I can wear this when I'm with her....but for me. It's glorious. I have a friend who loves really animalic leathers, ouds, incense and they smell amazing on him...the sillage that they produce are awesome. So it's one of things where you gotta pick your audience! As a subscriber once said on the channel “ in true Internet tomfoolery”…. And then proceeded to share his view on something; this is me doing the same thing😑 I wanted to elaborate on why did Alessandro use a leather wrap around the bottle, where he hadn’t done this for any of the others. It in turn made me think of a book that is leather bound once the author has finished writing the story; So I stretched a very long bow on this narrative… clearly I was very wrong🙄 I am excited to see what else the great Alessandro comes out with as everything he creates is always a unique experience. This fragrance makes me feel like I can do anything. When I wear it, it fills be with confidence and makes me feel like an animal. I love Bergamask, but when I bought Cuoium everything clicked.

Marcelo. Great graphics to open the video. This is what leather parfum should smell like, but they don't. Agree with your description. Big hitter. Eternal longevity but not a bombastic room clearer. I hope AG has more chapters to the Orto Parisi line. I can envision the next chapter as "war befalls the garden" with notes of stainless steel, Gunpowder, Smoke, sadly blood, trampled vegetation, petroleum, cold crisp morning air, mud, cotton clothes. Somehow AG would make completely wearable. That would be a fitting close.

You sold me on the fragrance. Leather is my favorite scent. Very well done review. But the symbol on the cap is just a cobbler’s anvil. 😅 not a triscule 😂😂 shoes are made of leather. That anvil symbolizes leather craftsmanship
i just tried it for the first time, i don’t really get a fecal note at all, but rather light animalics. for me it’s mostly a deep leather, those light animalics, cigarette/tobacco ash, smoke, and an amber reminiscent of BR540. To my nose it dries down into a smoky amber, slightly floral, sweet smell.

I've seen several reviews of Cuoium and nobody has pointed out the repulsive yet amazing quality this fragrance brings to the table.
Personally I love it!.
This is my "ride or die" fragrance when it comes to heavy metal concerts or when I am gigging with my band ..
The raw animalic leather here ...empowers me while cranking my amp to 10!

We don't get the Akro brand in Australia so I haven't really experienced this brand properly. I came across it in Milan back in June, but I was smelling so many perfumes that I can't remember a thing😩

This fragrance is definitely an interesting one, but i regret buying it because i struggle to find an occasion or an event where it would be appropriate to wear this fragrance, it’s probably more suited to a tough rugged guy than me
I have to agree with you @Lucignolo; this is a fragrance for 'you'....if you rock up to a party wearing this, I think you'll scare everyone.
I actually love traveling with this perfume. If I'm going interstate on my own, then Cuoium is my traveling companion....lasts forever.
A recommendation is to layer this fragrance with a citrus, it changes the dimension of this perfume and works if I'm now meeting someone.
I like using either
Neroli Oranger by Matiere Premiere or
Acancia di Sicilia by Perris Monte Carlo
Spray Cuoium first; wait 3-4 hours and then spray the other on top....MAGIC!💫

Yep, it's a genuine question. The funny thing...yes
But it's not for everyone. As I mentioned in this episode it's a big 'no' from my wife. There's no way that I can wear this when I'm with her....but for me. It's glorious.
I have a friend who loves really animalic leathers, ouds, incense and they smell amazing on him...the sillage that they produce are awesome.
So it's one of things where you gotta pick your audience!

I wanted to elaborate on why did Alessandro use a leather wrap around the bottle, where he hadn’t done this for any of the others.
It in turn made me think of a book that is leather bound once the author has finished writing the story; So I stretched a very long bow on this narrative… clearly I was very wrong🙄
I am excited to see what else the great Alessandro comes out with as everything he creates is always a unique experience.

This fragrance makes me feel like I can do anything. When I wear it, it fills be with confidence and makes me feel like an animal. I love Bergamask, but when I bought Cuoium everything clicked.

I'm yet to explore the House of Zoologist. I have smelt one or 2 of them but not really seriously. Having said that, they would be a brand that I know I'll enjoy.

Marcelo. Great graphics to open the video. This is what leather parfum should smell like, but they don't. Agree with your description. Big hitter. Eternal longevity but not a bombastic room clearer. I hope AG has more chapters to the Orto Parisi line. I can envision the next chapter as "war befalls the garden" with notes of stainless steel, Gunpowder, Smoke, sadly blood, trampled vegetation, petroleum, cold crisp morning air, mud, cotton clothes. Somehow AG would make completely wearable. That would be a fitting close.
Thanks Steve and yes, I have a feeling that there will be more to come from Mr AG....you can't contain that kind of talent. But I did think similar to you that I can see a new direction coming around...I do feel that there's a bit of a 'full stop' with this recent release (but hey, what do I know😂)
