DANGEROUS BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY // Svalbard adventure - little auk

In this episode from my Svalbard adventure trip, I wanted to photograph the seabird, the little auk. A small but cool little bird. But the challenge is that it is high up in steep slopes of rocks. And the possibilities and danger of avalanche is always there. So it was a little dangerous bird photography. And I also needed to see where to step all the time, bot to slip with my nikon z9 and 600mm.
This bird is so fast and hard to photograph in flight. But I did not give up, and got paid off.

Wonderful photos! Quite the challenges to get them between the steep climb, avalanche and polar bears. Do you ever vlog with a GoPro when faced with such challenges, so not to have to deal with second set of gear?

Change your set up. Olympus OM with a 300 a 2x extender would do just as good a job and is twice as light as that massive thing you are struggling with. In actual fact with the Olympus System you would have taken 1000 flight shots! Time to move on.
