    A much better alternative to a bench when training the Bulgarian split squat is gymnastic rings or a suspension trainer. It doesn't have to be the TRX, as it is just one of the brands of suspension trainers. With these, you can adjust the height with ease. Whether you're born with long legs or short legs, it doesn't matter. And it feels so much more comfortable to place your foot on them as well. You can even do Bulgarian split squats in a hotel and practically anywhere you can hang a suspension trainer.
