*BEFORE WE GET ANY HATE:* Yes, we are hypocrites when it comes to environmental issues! We all are, in some way and it’s hard not to be. We drive cars, we get on flights, at times we opt to support local markets which use plastic cups. However, this issue is bigger than us alone. We are all stuck in this fossil-fuel economy and without GLOBAL change, our lifestyles will continue to cause climate and ecological harm. We need the bigger players, industries and governments to act as well. The communities and people like you and us need help and the support to do more for our planet. We were stoked to see that in Malaysia’s cities some stores were opting out of single use plastic! We’re all from different countries, but share the same planet and only together can we begin to make positive changes. We can all do better, so let’s do it, and let’s do it together without blame and hate, but with love and support ❤
"Becoming a TOTAL Earth Science Skeptic" > FauxScienceSlayer(.)com there is NO greenhouse gas, NO sustainable green energy and NO peak oil > it's all a giant lie
The only way you guys would be hypocrites If you were chiding people for throwing litter on the beach while you did it as well think of it this way you even said it in the most current video here everywhere you go you try to eat at the local markets so you’re supplying local sustainable food versus consistently going to McDonald’s for example as for what those countries do with their refuse that’s on them
Why do you have to make me cry Ben?! Seriously I’m a grown ass man, but that last scene on the beach had me in tears. Something about love that’ll do that to you. Congrats to you two wonderful souls. I just celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my wife on Sunday. Found a local musician to play the song that we danced to at our wedding. My wife cried like a baby. Then I cried like a baby. Love will do it every time. ❤️
Thank you for coming to my country ,Malaysia .Not sure if you are still here , but i'm very keen to meet you guys ! By the way , the fruit that you eat is called Longan , not Langsat .Its 2 different fruits ....
Thursdays have to be the best day of the week for me thanks to this series, i get home from work and mere minutes later this is uploaded, thanks for the vids and brightening my day up!
congratulations guys... happy to see both of you make your unforgettable moment at my hometown Penang. all d best to both u & hope both of u will return this beautiful island again with extra family member. stay safe guyz
hello ben, regard from malaysian who following u from ur first journey on hasta alaska. btw, that one u thouht langsat is actually we called mata kucing in a family of longan. im enjoying ur shares.
Spent 6 months in Malaysia. The food is 'yummy' as its dosed completely in MSG. They sell it by the kg. Watch the kids on it, they get high and crazy. I think they use it to replace alcohol.
I worked in Malaysia for a few months about 10 years ago, stayed mainly in KL, but also ventured to Penang, popped to the beach at Batu Ferrenghi. It was quite built up and very busy, but the sea was the beautiful tropical view that you would expect. Overall though it is a fantastic place.
I have been following your channel even not religously but find it interesting. Just get the interest in vanlife and hope to jump into it. So, you were in Penang? Its 100km away south of from my hometown. did you bring along your combi to Kuala Lumpur then? Watch this video for the second time, the first was when I did not know you are living a vanlife.
Congratulations!!! I suppose I've got to wait till the next episode to congratulate you properly? Abit premature I know but that's the story of life 😉 well done Ben, shes gorgeous!!
The pollution doesn't surprise me. Stuff washes up on US West Coast beaches. They are always pulling it out of the water miles out. Waiting on next week. The series is doing great.
Hi Ben and Leah, loved this video. Most of the fishing shortages and due to over fishing and unsustainable methods. Other countries fish Malaysia's surrounding waters. Many beaches are polluted from what is washed up rather than people dropping litter on the beach and the cleanliness depends on currents. We did a number of beach cleans in Borneo and the next day more has washed up. Well said that we should all do our bit. I am so hungry after watching all that lovely food - Thanks for sharing with us - Chris & Marianne x
Fantastic videos, enjoy everyone, congrats it’s about time, so jealous of your travels, looking forward to the next adventure. Eastern Iowa US (Farmer)
if you ever have a chance to come to Bangladesh in summer. try Bangladeshi Jackfruit. you will never forget the taste. but it must be riped in natural way, not with chemical. 😉
To get a real feeling of the country, I have done from Singapore to Johar Bahru to KL to Georgetown to Penang to Lankawi by Bus and ferry ⛴️. I say, Good that you took the 🚆 train . God Speed guys 🤗
Mangosteen I love it and only had it in Indonesia. Rambutan is wonderful also and I can get it here we’re an live (Dutch Antilles) it is imported from Colombia or Dominican Republic. I know there is mangosteen in the south of America, but here they do not import it because it is to expensive... but I long for Mangosteen.... 😓😓🥰🥰 have to wait and drive up the East with you guys when you’re leaving... I will start my Nomadic life in December 🙀🙀yes I know it is cold by then, but couldn’t get sooner to Europe. Will start at 48 years young with my both kids Tom my cat and Mia my doggie... will try to keep following everyone on the road. Bring some Mangosteen for me, will be around Bordeaux end of December 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 enjoy each other !!
So did she say yes? Do we have to wait til the next episode to find out? I know Durian smells like a backpackers week old underpants, but it does taste ok, a bit like a mild peach iirc.
It's great that you guys are showing a real and true representation of the environmental problems facing some of SE Asia. But I saw you accept plastic bags for each of your fruits, drink from disposable water bottles and have iced drinks out of plastic cups. You can be making a change here - and inspiring it. When I'm over in Thailand I always carry a collapsible bowl, fork, spoon, water filter and reusable big coffee cup for the endless iced drinks they serve. I get funny laughs from the Thais, but they're always accommodating if you explain carefully. And it really isn't that much more to carry with you. I'd be so happy to see you guys leading this change.
VPN: Essential. Also, in the US, all responsible banks and many web sites have gone to HTTPS over the past two years. Add that to VPN and you've fairly good security. Even better if you can use cellular data, not WiFi.
Superb documentary again guys! pls, dont be sorry about exposing and sharing the truth it's pure fact and we understand your concern! Also, it will give a nice headsup for future traveler and not to be disappointed when they see the beach!! So sad to see that no one is looking up after the beach... Great content as always....that video ending tho...i wanna see next asap!!
You know that car drivers and the like call motorcycle riders, "temporary residents". BTW great video makes me want to visit the snake temple again lol.
Oh yes, it is shocking, how much waste is swimming in the sea...what did we do to nature...I was just as shocked as we visited a historical Ermitage here in Spain. People were having a party there and left all there bottles and rubbish on the tables and floor...although there were huge bins right there...it was a mess...😞

Non rapidly biodegradable single use plastics are an existential threat to our planet.
Who cares dude, it's not the consumers fault, the real culprits are industrials and we can't do much about it

There is an episode on This American Life podcast where they completely debunk the MSG myth

#5!! I love your travels!!!
if you ever have a chance to come to Bangladesh in summer. try Bangladeshi Jackfruit. you will never forget the taste. but it must be riped in natural way, not with chemical. 😉
Hi hi...
I think the fruit is longan or mata kucing (in Malay) and not langsat. I might be wrong but it does look like longan. Hehe...
We think you are right, thanks for clearing that up Florence
Question....... how do you determine that the ice is ok to eat when traveling? I travel to India, and the ice isn’t safe......
You guys should finish up at Tioman Island or Perhentian Island..!
It's probably just me but I think you are VERY brave to try all those local food & fruits.
They were delicious 😋
Thank you 😊. Stay happy healthy and strong ‼️
The beach turns murky coz the plan to make a sea tunnel frm the mainland to gurney plaza .sad to the fishy &fisherman🙂↕️

Those hotels have probably put fishermen out of work. If the water looks like that the fish can't survive.
