Mabuhay ang mga nurses here and back home in the Philippines. They were the true heroes. My daughter was born here In Canada and she chose to be a nurse. Ang hirap ng experience nya during the pandemic. She had to live in a hotel during the pandemic just to protect us from getting Covid. Salute to all the nurses.More power to Marie Cabrera.Mabuhay!
New subscriber po. Ang husay nyo pong mag interview Ms Ina. Like Ma’am Marie, I used to be in the academe in the Philippines and now working as an RN here in the US. I agree, there’s a huge room for improvement on how nurses and healthcare workers in general can be engaged, compensated, and retained in our country.
Hi ina. New subacriber here from bc.. i use to be a seafarer, tumigil after 10 years on and off sa barko. I also studied nursing at home sa pinas, became licence 2010. Pero kinailangan ko pa mag aral d2. Tinamad na ako and now im driving a truck. No regrets especially the struggles during covid. Wife is a nurse here too.
My son earned more than 120t last year as RN. There may be some moving to the States for greener pasture (California & NY) but most are staying put since they are already satisfied with life here.
Silent viewer from Yorba Linda California. I’m also a RN & came to the US since 1978.Retired since 2018 .I think the problem in our country is,they are opening a lot of schools & not enough employment.Keep doing your vlog.Thanks.
@@chie_313I think some have family here too. And the path to immigrant or citizenship is easier I guess. I think if you want to see if the grass is greener on the other side, then you need to try it out. 😅
Hi Ma’am Ina I love this episode I do believe she has all the best background in the Philippines, however to say something about nursing though Im retired with this profession its really a noble one and outside Phil is the best profession as a critical care RN with your credentials you have autonomy with work how to save lives and the feeling of fulfillment of job is there because nursing need teamwork its real world of humanity service money wise its really good to build up family .I salute to her
So true. 2011 nursing grad ako and that time, indemand ang nursing sa pinas, ang hirap maghanap ng work sa as a nurse unless may means ka magbayad to pay for training sa hosp without assurance if maaabsorb ka, and ang salary di enough to survive. 😢 At least dito even if nakakapagod magduty, well compensated ka.
As what you have said the price of rice in Philippines is ranges from 0.8 to 1.2 Cad per kilo. While here in Canada its 3 to 4 Cad per kilo. Thats 3 times. So regardless of your income, the cost of living here in Canada is higher than in Philippines. Its impossible na mababa cost of living sa first world countries like Canada kasi we are consumer demand, and because mataas ang salary natin dito eh expect na mataas din ang price dito compared sa ibang countries like pinas
mainly ang reason why pinay RN go abroad is money. wifey is an rn too. she went abroad as an rn at the age of 20. she has 2 rn provincial certs. in canada and 2 rn state certs. in US. Yes more money and more choices in the US.

Good evening Mam Ina watching from Alberta Canada
Hello!
A lot of Canadian Filipino Nurses now want to move to the USA.
May i know the reasons why they are moving to US?
@@chie_313 more pay esp Cali. They can get paid up to $100/hr if they take a traveling job here in the US. Unfortunately, that is the reality.
@@NurseMJ986 thank you! But is it worth it?

P25/kg bigas sa pinas? Saan pong parte ng Pilipinas yan? Lowest price dito sa amin sa NCR ay P58/kg.
@@pinkwolf07 that's the point po..mas matass ang cost of living sa pilipinas..
