I'm playing around with the configs as well, but if u have the [mod+w] accident u need to do the same with shift and select the hidden window, it will list them.
Yes, that works: shift+mod+w temporarily empties the status bar and if I hit the tab button, it lists the hidden apps to select. If I only have one app hidden, I can do shift+mod+w and hit enter and it brings the hidden app back. Thanks for sharing the info, I appreciate it.
"I just don't know what to say. I'm thoroughly and really impressed with it." Yup. And that's also my sentiment to your video about it. :) As confidently mentioned prior, I knew you'd like it. :) Easily my fave vid in a long while. ... Tempts me to spend some time in spectrwm again. ... But, if only i could get tabbing integrated, would it lure me away from my xmonad, dwm or herbstluftwm.
Thanks again for the kind words and positive feedback. I really appreciate it. In my other window managers, I have volumeicon installed on the status bar. But I haven't been to get it working in spectrwm. It won't even turn on from the terminal. Also, I haven't tried spectrwm in my production computer where I have two monitors. I'll have to see how that functions. But overall, I like spectrwm.
Hi nice vids! I have tried and overall I like the workflow in spectrwm, but something bugging me the bar doesnt support tray in the bar, how u fix this or do you not using any tray in the bar?
Hi, thanks for the positive feedback. I'm one week new to spectrwm, so I'm just learning how to use it. In my other window managers, I have volumeicon installed, but I haven't figured out how to get it working in spectrwm.
This X11 WM is highly configurable but doesn't look like one for beginners to use. While I've tried most of the DE's and WM's with Arch I've always gone back to using Xfce4 therefore Xfwm4. It's lightweight, fast, integrates well with Arch and applications and can be configured to look and do everything most users need in a desktop. With the move to Wayland continuing I'm not sure what the long-term future support for Spectrwm and other X11 WM's will be. I'm hoping that Xfce4 transitions over to full Wayland once it becomes a complete replacement for X11. Be good to hear what your thoughts are on Xfce4 v4.20 when it's released on Dec 15th?

Thanks for explaining this wm:-)
You're welcome. Part 2 is coming Tuesday evening.

That's good information. I'll take a look at Xfce after the new version comes out. Thanks for sharing.
