Henry Cavill has demonstrated that he will fight to preserve the canon and make sure that it's handled in a manner that is respectful both towards it and the already existing fans of the IP. In an industry where those in charge are always trying to deconstruct and tear down an IP so they can reimagine it, which really means coopt and appropriate it for their own political agenda, that alone is enough to garner him a fan base.
At this point I'm not even sure if Games Workshop itself cares about the Canon.

Every contract has clauses to buy out of, especially for actors and I doubt any agents would allow their clients to sign contracts they can't be bought out of. Agents are for the allegiance of their clients, not the studios they may or may not ever work for/with. It's the clients that make the agencies money, not the other way around and Henry is a good client so I'm sure they will stand with him. Plus he seems like the kind of fan to either get it made right or not be apart of its blasphemy.

If Henry’s contract explicitly included provision to protect the lore, then Amazon already vitiated the contract by pressuring GW into changing the lore. Circumventing the clear intent of a contract while honoring the letter of it still violates the contract.
I know evil deal makers. Amazon may have promised the show would be true to the official lore. Amazon did not promise not to push GW into changing the lore to suit their ends. It's a trusted third party trap clause. The players of my D&D group are extremely familiar with such things, to the point I've had to use the tool as a way to make antagonists sympathetic because there's no way the players are going to be fooled by one.

Just making the push in the wake of contracting with Caville demonstrates bad faith and an intent to subvert the explicit wording and clear intent of the contract. Just putting views on videos like this is at least something. But honestly, if Amazon is determined to make this series bomb, then it's going to bomb. He has no idea how executive stock sales work, how devaluing a business to buy it cheaper would work and how it's completely not applicable here, etc

@parthpandey9502 it's illegal first of all and would be easy to make a huge mess of in court and could end in Amazon being forced to pay the previous value of GW. The main problem though, is that GW is a company that only currently exists because of customer loyalty and brand recognition. Tanking the brand to devalue it before buying it would be like smashing up a car at the dealership and then trying to get a discount. The car is still smashed when you get it but now you have to pay for repairs.

Like, we go with his recommendations on who directs it, writes it, etc. but we just bankroll it instead of Amazon?

3) Strategy - insert out DEI into Warhammer! Will damage brand and make cheaper!

Henry is probably saving their show from them and they can’t even see it.
Cavill should drop his agent/agency and team up with other likeminded talents, and they all can go independent and make their own studio. So they can create films/shows and work with great IPs, without some big major company trying to make stuff worse.
I would rather watch a heartfelt, low budget 40K indie film that's lore accurate than a massive big budget show that completely disrespects the original fans.

I got to meet Henry cavill as a kid when they shot man of steel in my home town. Nothing made me happier and less self conscious about being a nerd then having a genuine discussion with this famous massive man about how much he loved warhammer 40k. I will always support Henry Cavill in any of his ventures.

I've wanted a 40k show for 20 years. Unfortunately, due to Amazon's incredibly stupid decision, this one will probably be so bad I won't watch it. I guess I'll hope for the second 40k show? Hopefully Henry can do that one also, without Amazon meddling.

When he was in TW, Henry Cavill said that he'd stay on the show as long as the lore was respected. The showrunner, Lauren, didn't respect the lore so Henry left. Lauren kept on not respecting the lore and the show went down the drain. After that, in a desperate attempt to save the show, it was announced the lore would be respected. Why didn't Lauren and Netflix listen to Henry Cavill, by respecting the lore, while he was still on the show and only realized seasons later that they had to respect it and should've respected it all along? That announcement was an admission of guilt on their part and an admission that they should've listened to Henry Cavill and that he knew what he was talking about.
Amazon should learn from Lauren's and Netflix's mistake while they still can. Amazon need to realize that their business is meant to generate profits, not to engage in politics, nor impose it and infuse it into shows where it has no place. Amazon has shows that their woke rules fits right in and they are successful because those shows go hand in hand with that woke ideology. Warhammer isn't one of those shows. The lore has already been established and cemented for decades and it doesn't go hand in hand with any woke ideology. Amazon needs to know the difference between those types of shows and know when to implement woke ideology and when not to.
Henry Cavill is a GREAT asset (the best to lead this franchise) and Amazon would have a DOA show on their hands if Henry Cavill would leave the show. He didn't sign up for woke ideology to taint/permeate and change the already established lore, and Amazon already KNEW that Henry Cavill protects and defends the lore. They KNEW who they were dealing with before the negotiations with GW started. It's inane and deceitful on Amazon's part to now want to change the lore to implement a woke ideology and rules into it knowing Henry Cavill wanted from the get-go to do a WH show that respects the lore.
GW bending over to comply with Amazon's woke ideology, gaslighting/disrespecting and alienating their fan base is an incredible rookie move when it comes to business. They should've stand their ground, as well as stand by and support Henry Cavill so as to present a united front. GW bending over and placing the blame on Henry Cavill, when they're the ones who made the decision to bend over, shows immaturity, lack of integrity, lack of accountability and responsibility, lack of business and partnership skills, lack of vision and understanding of what needs to be done and how, and an incredible disrespect for their fan base who have been supporting GW for decades. GW has shown they'll backstab anyone if it means they get the show (and money) rolling.
From what I can see, Henry Cavill is the only one with integrity in these business negotiations and the only one who cares about the lore and the fans. If Amazon keeps on insisting to have their woke ideology and rules being implemented in WH and Henry Cavill decides to leave the WH project, he'll not only be showing that he has integrity when it comes to respecting the promise he made to the fans that he'd be respecting and protecting the lore by not abiding to Amazon's wokeness, he'll also be showing a lot of strength of character. The film industry needs more people like this. Not everything is about money. There are other things more important than money and which are worth protecting and fighting for.
This is the reason "may your hobby go mainstream" is a curse.

The fact that I'm not the only one seeing how "the monopole" in entertainment is ruining franchises on purpose so they can purchase the studios at a discount is the exact reason why we need to be more vocal as fans. Support the studios you like and boycott the ones going fully against their customers. Don't buy their shit, they need you more, than you need them.
