Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 гру 2020
- The video focuses on the pre-war Corregidor before it was ravaged by war. Best to see this video before or after visiting Corregidor. Because the video shows how Corregidor looks like 80 years ago, giving way to a deeper understanding of the islands colorful history.

My grandmother, or lola, was from this island. She was also a nurse in the war. My grandfather, or lolo, was a filipino fighting with the Americans, and a prisoner of war. They survived and brought our family to California. That is where I am now. There is only one left - the youngest, my uncle, still alive, of the original family. Watching this, I felt like I could see them everywhere.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PUTTING TOGETHER THESE PHOTOS. I'VE VISITED CORREGIDOR TWICE AND IT'S SO NICE TO SEE ALL OF THE PHOTOS OF WHAT THE BUILDINGS LOOKED LIKE BEFORE THE JAPANESE BOMBED THEM. ESPECIALLY THE PHOTOS OF SAN JOSE BARRIO WHERE THE FILIPINO WORKERS LIVED. NOTHING IS LEFT TO SEE TODAY OF WHAT WAS ONCE THE VILLAGE OF SAN JOSE.
Yes i vry much Agree 1000 percent this presentation is vry Nostalgic, i wish my great Grandfather is Still around to see this Great Video, TYVM for this Awsome Documentary, Bravo Zulo, Great Job !!!
It is an emotional film for me where we lived in peace. The archives beautifully preserved. This is my first seeing Corregidor in its glory days. Thank you so much. Wonderful educational trip down memory lane.
It is good to see Corregidor in its glory before it Was destroyed during WW2. I visited that place twice. One was back in early 70s when I was in 6th grade in PI. Made another visit before my daughter joined the US Army sometime April 2014. Mabuhay Kabayan and Peace..
History with such big story. Kay sarap alalahanin ng ating nakaraan na hindi man lang nasilayan.
That is the advocacy of this channel that is to create an awareness about the beauty of the Filipino culture and history.
Thanks for watching.
Beautiful. Very well done. Visited the Rock and was very moved by its history and sacrifice
Thanks for sharing this video. I learned alot today.
Thank you sa kaninang pag tour kuya mar 🤛
Lovely music🤗
Wow ganyan pala pinagdadaan natin noon grabe pala
This is American Philippines. Governance under the US was much better than now.
The condition of most of the he barracks and base buildings today are the best memorials I can imagine. They have been left as they were after the bombing and fires. About 8 years ago you could walk anywhere you cared to in the ruins. Not sure about now.
And the shrapnel divots in the body of the 8 inch mortar barrels.
Awesome!
Pre-war Corregidor reminds me of all those bases we have all over the world like Yokusaka near Tokyo. All self-contained communities with everything a soldier or sailor would need or want for themselves and their families that travel with them. What a contrast to present-day Corregidor! The Japanese really did destroy it...
When you visited Corregidor, you can see that the Americans invested so much on the security of the island. But its defense was no longer adequate in WWII. With Bataan and Cavite fell under IJA, it was easy for the enemy to bombard Corregidor from that side.
This is such a very informative content. I miss Ph!! :)
wow. corregidor was a lively province/island then. it should be restored to a top island destination in the philippines like boracay or sort.
Amazing video!👏 Corregidor is such a wonderful and interesting place to visit.Hope to go there soon to see its natural beauty.
Please do so the island is very enchanting
Ganda

Great place and also the background music is xo touching huhu🥰😇
Glad you liked it
Ganda...
Ganda po NG video
Nice!!
Hopefully the island life will be revive with the construction of Bataan-Cavite bridge...
I surmise that the Americans fortified Corregidor and Fort Drum at the entrance to Manila Bay because they didn't want a repeat of the 1898 Battle of Manila Bay in which a foreign fleet can easily enter the Bay and ravage the shipping anchored inside it without any advanced warning or defense.
The cost and effort of installing all that infrastructure, armaments, and amenities on Fort Mills and Fort Drum must be similar to that of the ICBM launch sites in Montana or the NASA facilities in Cape Canaveral.
Nice documentary godbless
Nice ...
I miss phlippines now ☺️
Given this background, it is worth re-visiting Corregidor, now a boat ride away from Manila Bay
Its amazing to see that Corregidor was ones a bustling little city in the mouth of Manila Bay. But sadly now, a lot of it are just ruins while nature reclaimed the rest. 😢
I’ve been to Corregidor a few years ago. We can only see glimpses of what was. A burned down building and some remnants of what used to be.
Thanks for watching please share my video.
I wish that Corregidor island could be brought back to its pre-war glory. Its barracks, building, tramvias and other structures be re- built or restored.
No. It is better to let it be as it was damaged during the war. Let it be a remembrance of those who died, sacrificed and suffered. To rebuild or restore them will lose its historical value and meaning.
were the tranvias before are the same as the ones in san francisco usa?
I'm assuming that the "Tramvias" used in Corregidor are U.S. made, since majority of all mechanized vehicles here in the Philippines during the 1930s are of U.S.A. origin.
I cant believe that Mcarthur was better prepared. Im sure he knew about the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor..therefore, the troops there should have been in high alert.
Done!
I suggest to the author to put the titles of the music in the description box with the time stamps for each song. This entire video is an amazing music video of the 1920s-1930s songs.
Selwyn Clyde Alojipan Maybe you know or not but the majority or the of the song or music was The Glenn MILLER band (The big band era)
Thanks but I have to change the music because of the copyright claim. I hope you like the video even with a different music.

Was just there earlier this week. Time has not been kind to remains of Fort Mills or the War Memorial. Much of what is there is in desperate need of repair and conservation.
I agree. I was there 2x last time in 2004 and the landscaping was good and maintained. Seen recent UA-cam video and it looks bad, no keep-up or maintenance.
The forced closures didnt help anything either. All but the government run tours have gone out of bussnis. If it wasn't for the fact that I know some people that know the right people I would not have been able to get out there when I did. There is very little in the way of money being made from tourism in on Luzon. Out side of what is in Manila.

Little America of US
Then the Japanese invaded ruthlessly.
Like the " BRP SIERRA MADRE &THE ROCK why until now they are not being UPGRADED " ,,,,, For the,,,"FALL OF BATAAN",not to be repeated again in our History should an invader once again attack and invade METRO MANILA👀🤔🥴🙄😎😭🇵🇭🇺🇲
The military officers are in haven they are always first come first serve. These are provided by the tax payer of USA people, got-it-made what a life....
*Nice grabbing compiling pictures from google*
Most of the pictures are from Corregidor Historical Society a Facebook group whose admins are expert in the topic of Corregidor and was grabed and compiled in this video with permition from the poeple who posted it.
As a radio amateur & HF Radio enthusiast , i wonder if you can find vintage photographs of HF radio equipments and Antenna farms in both the Malinta radio stations and in the US Navy Intercept Station on the Bottom side, im vry sure there still exist vintage pre war and War time photos & motion pictures of HF radio installations as such.
